Biden Kills 2,000 Union Jobs in Wisconsin

From the Milwaukee Business Journal.

The January presidential executive order canceling permits for TC Energy Corp.’s Keystone XL Pipeline could eliminate job opportunities for an estimated 2,000 construction workers who live in Wisconsin.

Two Wisconsin contractors, Michels Corp. of Brownsville and Precision Pipeline of Eau Claire, were among six that TC Energy hired in October to build about 800 miles of the Keystone pipeline across three states this year. The project starting in Hardisty, Alberta, in Canada would run through Montana, South Dakota and Nebraska.

Although the actual construction would’ve happened outside of Wisconsin, Michels and Precision Pipeline would have hired Wisconsin union tradespeople for the projects, said Terrance McGowan, president and business manager of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 139, located in Pewaukee.

  1. Kevin Scheunemann

    Awful. Just awful.

    Nord cheers this anti-union action.

Just awful what liberals are doing to union jobs.

  2. Mar

    And Le Roi cheers

  3. Mar

This is how the liberal brain thinks:
Let’s shut down the pipeline and it will help with climate change.
Reality: shut down the pipeline and instead of using the pipeline, which is fairly safe, the companies will then use trains, ships and trucks which will cause more pollution and be more dangerous.
The liberal mind just is not very smart or bright.

  4. Mar

Well, these laid off workers can reclaim abandoned land mines as Hoe Vice President Harris said.
Between Senile Joe and Hoe Harris, is there 10 brain cells between them?

  5. Mar

Well, at least these workers can collect unemployment.
I’m pretty sure they will get it, as Biden hired the Washington State director of unemployment compensation who was victimized by Nigerian scammers to the tune of $600 million.
I mean, how stupid can the Biden administration be?
With the exception of the sociopath, I’m pretty sure most of us can recognize a Nigerian scammer.
But not Biden and his new hire.

  6. dad29

Since Warren Buffet will be the primary beneficiary of this (he owns the railroad), perhaps Occam tells us to look at simple election-cash greed.

  7. MaxwellsEQs

I am both surprised and happy that Biden cancelled the keystone pipeline. I thought he was too corrupt to do it.

By canceling the keystone pipeline, Biden is protecting America’s land and groundwater, while encouraging Canada to close the tar sands.

You should google images and look at the Tar Sands, it makes Mordor look like nice a vacation get away.

The environment is more important that jobs, especially since the keystone pipeline creates so few jobs for all the environmental destruction. It takes less than 50 full time people (U.S. and Canad) to maintain the pipeline if it is ever constructed.

  8. Mar

Maxwell, you honestly think Canada will shut down the oil fields? You do realize that even liberal Trudeau was pissed off.
But of course, there will be more air pollution, with more danger when a train derails or a truck overturns.

  9. Jason

    >By canceling the keystone pipeline, Biden is protecting America’s land and groundwater,

Obviously you think the current transportation methods are superior – by Truck and by Train. Great, you’ve outed yourself as a sheep. Even Leroy knows that is worse than a pipeline.

  10. Mar

‘Even Leroy knows that is worse than a pipeline.”
    Don’t count on it.
He supports Senile Joe and hates President Trump.
Trump was for it and Senile Joe against.
So, it’s a pretty fair bet the sociopath is against it.

  11. dad29

I thought he was too corrupt to do it.

How much money did Biden* get from Buffett and his proxies, Max?

    We’ll wait…..

Bonus question: do you have ANY idea how much pipeline exists under Wisconsin at this time?

  12. Mar

Again, the sociopath just looks at the pictures and doesn’t read the article.

  13. Jason

    >Looks like some exaggeration going on kiddies:

Ok, take a minute and quote exactly what in that article is showing exactly what “exaggeration” is going on here. I won’t wait, because it’s not in there, and you’re just trolling… like always. Congrats, you’re the most dull person in 2021, an honor you’ve carried here for 3 straight years!

  14. Merlin

Buffet’s investment in Obama 1.0 allowed him to influence the nation’s energy policy in a manner that continues with Obama 3.0. The Keystone cancellation has nothing to do with environmental protections. This is pure ROI on a level the likes of Michel and Local 139’s paltry political contributions can’t hope to compete with. Apparently they’re very slow learners.

  15. Kevin Scheunemann

There Nord is! Cheering the union job loss. “Its just not that bad guys”. Us liberals only screwed union a little, not a lot.

Nord, do you have any morality?

  16. Jason

No, he’s gone full troll. Just his last month of posts here are evidence that his family members should be really concerned about his decline in mental capacity.

  17. Le Roi du Nord

Wrong again, k. Could you point out where I was cheering the loss of any jobs? Or did you just make that up to salve your ego? And where was your moral outrage when walker attacked unions at every opportunity? Hypocrite, thy name is k.

I wasn’t aware that Thomas Sowell was acquainted with your posts, but he has a quote that certainly applies to you:

“It is usually futile to try to talk facts and analysis to people who are enjoying a sense of moral superiority in their ignorance.”

    Fits you to a T.

  18. Mar

Sociopath, you stated you support Senile Joe and believe in the hoax of climate change.
It is very logical to deduce that you support these job killing actions.
Plus, in your rant, you never said you were against the job cuts.
So Nord cheers that thousands of people list their jobs because of Senile Joe.

  19. Le Roi du Nord

Wrong again, mar, in soooo many ways.

  20. Mar

In other words, you admit you are wrong.
This is how you admit that you are wrong when you cannot come back with anything.
    Right, Troll Boy?
Show me where I am wrong, Herbert sociopath.
And Jason is right, like Senile Joe, your intelligence and ability to think has gone way down since early last year.

  21. Kevin Scheunemann

Great! Then denounce Biden for destroying these union jobs. You will not do it, because in your leftist echo chamber, you love it!

  22. Le Roi du Nord

You forgot, I don’t “denounce” based on your whims. Your continued demands for anyone to denounce things is both immature, and foolhardy. It hasn’t worked on me, nor others on this site that have been harassed by you in the past. Geez, you are a slow learner, or assume, incorrectly, that others are as gullible as you are. Either way you are wasting your time.

BTW: Did you ever denounce walker for destroying union jobs?

  23. Le Roi du Nord

In these words: You are wrong.

Now go try to bully Herman, your imaginary boyfriend. You sure are obsessed with him.

  24. Mar

Again Herbert Troll Boy has nothing.
    Pretty ves our point.
Now, go play with the little boys, you Herbert, love.

  25. Kevin Scheunemann

You will not denounce because you secretly love Biden destroying these union jobs.

    Just awful.

Don’t claim to be against the job killing action but utterly fail to criticize the Biden immorality.

  26. Mar

Still waiting to see how educated your are sociopath.
For instance, which seminary did you go to?

  27. dad29

Did you ever denounce walker for destroying union jobs?

Which ones? We’ll settle for a list of 20 examples.

It’ll be very tough to come up with that list, seeing as Walker ADDED full-time equivalent State jobs in every year he was Governor.

    We’ll wait. Show us.

  28. MjM

Nazi Nort’s Normal Numbnutzness: “Looks like some exaggeration going on kiddies:”

The “eliminate job opportunities“ and “would have hired” parts just zipped right over your balding dome, didn’t it, Mr. Elected Official?

Besides. 1000. 2000. 11000. What difference – at this point – what difference does it make? They are not real jobs anyway. just “temporary”, right?

Those poor saps should just head right on over to all those thousands of “green” jobs Babblin’ Joe has created in the last three weeks, yes?

Start makin’ them solar panels, boys!

(er, well. sorry. Guess not. Most of those are made by BJ’s and CrackPipe’s friends in China)

  29. Kevin Scheunemann

Nord is dumbfounded with facts, again.

Do you ever take a stand on morality? Or you just comfortable letting evil policy thrive?

  30. Le Roi du Nord

So you don’t know, or understand, the difference between 1000 and 11000 ? That explains a lot.

    Hint: 11000-1000= X.

Can you help mjm, he is struggling with simple math again?

  31. Kevin Scheunemann

Since you reject simple objective truth and morality, tough to help you out in your constantly shifting standards.

  32. Mar

That’s just Troll Boy being a troll.
He is not interested in engaging in a debate.
He just wants to be a troll.
He thinks his buddies on the left give him high fives when he comes here and is a troll.
In reality, they just roll their eyes and shake their heads at his stupidity.

  33. MjM

Nazi Nort Fails Economics 101: “So you don’t know, or understand, the difference between 1000 and 11000 ? ”

    Why, yes, I do.

Sadly, you, Mr. Elected Official, do not.

That you couldn’t comprehend the words of the article cited by Owen is evidence enough, but to reply with a silly “hint” that is inapposite to any of part of this Biden-induced stupidity solidifies the point.

Let’s see if your balding dome can absorb this simplest of explanations….

1000 is the number of active Jobs immediately killed by BJ Edict. The company memo went out. 11000 is the company estimate of total jobs to come on line to complete construction, if not for the BJ Edict, and is inclusive of the already killed off 1000 active jobs and the 2000 estimated men-from-WI jobs.

    Capisci, numbnutz?

  34. Tuerqas

Well MJM, I can see why that was the last comment on this post…
