People Dying At Home

More predictable, if unintentional, consequences.

While no reliable statistics are available on how many Americans with non-Covid-related illnesses are avoiding the health system, doctors responding to an informal Twitter poll reported a 40% reduction in heart attack patients. Cigna, the insurance company, said patients were not actively seeking care for urgent health needs, citing significant reductions in hospitalizations for GI bleeds, seizures and appendicitis.

Though it is not known how many people with chronic disease have died in recent weeks, some may be driving up the number of suspected Covid deaths – a grey area of the data that includes people who have died of related health issues.

As Le Roi would say, “It’s their own damn fault”.

  2. Kevin Scheunemann

    Awful. Just awful.

    Liberals never see the obvious.

  3. Le Roi du Nord

No mar, I have never said that.  You are lying again.

  4. Mar

From Le Roi”Suicide, overdose, and not going to the hospital are choices, poor ones. Contracting covid19 isn’t a choice, but a result.” May 2nd.
Le Roi, caught you lying again.
Le Roi, again says, it’s their own damn fault.

  5. jjf

You’re supposed to sacrifice yourself for the economy at work, then you’re supposed to die at home.  Especially if you’re not “Regular Folks.”

  6. Le Roi du Nord

Well look at that, the highly educated mar makes a false claim, gets called on it, then provides a quote that proves that he was wrong all along. An amazing epic fail by the inimitable mar, alway wrong, but never uncertain.

  7. Le Roi du Nord

    That should be “always”.

  8. Mar

Well, Pathological Liar Le Roi, I used your own words.
Apparently you are too stupid to admit that you are wrong.
But hey, people are dying the economy is trashed. This your wet dream come true because it might hurt President Trump.

  9. Jason

    >That should be “always”.

See how stupid you look having to post corrections almost every day?  If you hadn’t been such an anal prick about spelling and grammar, no one would have cared.  Enjoy your karma gramps.

  10. jjf

Yeah, Le Roi, what you should be doing is not correcting mistakes.  Just be brave and the virus won’t get you!  Or if someone says something you don’t like, just fire them!

  11. Mar

I’m glad Ducey fired them. They have been wrong constantly.

I wonder if Dumb Johnny can explain to us how a magical June 1st opening would stop a spike in cases?  Oh sorry, not just a spike, a Dramatic Spike in cases.

    >The universities’ models had shown that the only way to avoid a dramatic spike in cases was to delay reopening the state until the end of May.

I know the answer to this….  end of may, the university model would show that the only way to avoid a dramatic spike in cases would be to delay reopening until the end of June.

Come on Johnny, I know you’re not an epidemiologist, but am I wrong?  Put the books down and play along for once.

  13. jjf

Yes, Jason, I think there will be more waves and regional hotspots, and it’ll jump from place to place, and rural Wisconsin is not immune, especially if they think they depend on tourism dollars.

  14. Jason

    >Yes, Jason, I think there will be more waves and regional hotspots, and it’ll jump from place to place, and rural Wisconsin is not immune, especially if they think they depend on tourism dollars.

So explain to us why delaying the opening to the end of May is “THE ONLY WAY TO AVOID A DRAMATIC SPIKE IN CASES”.   Emphasis mine.  You haven’t done that.

  15. jjf

You want me to defend a phrase you keep repeating?

What kind of evidence would change your mind about the lockdown?  If things look worse in June and July?

  16. Mar

Any evidence, jjf, that things will be worse in June and July?

  17. Jason

    >You want me to defend a phrase you keep repeating?

Of course not, you’re incapable of honest and meaningful discussion.   Every post you make reinforces that simple fact.  Leroy’s dog is probably better at open discussion than you.

  18. Jason

BTW, to help you out… the phrase I keep repeating is a direct quote from the article you linked to.   You brought this into the discussion, sorry you’re incapable of discussing what you brought up.

  19. jjf

Jason, to help you out, the next line of the story says “Instead, Ducey will rely on a federal model – one we aren’t allowed to even see.”  That’s better, right?

  20. Jason

That doesn’t dispute what I’ve been quoting.  It’s not helping.  Sorry Labradoodle Johnny.

  21. jjf

Mar, I bet a Dilly Bar they will be.

  22. Le Roi du Nord

Hey mar, do you know what these “ “ are for? For someone so highly educated you sure don’t know much.

I’m still right, and you are still lying.

  23. dad29

not going to the hospital are choices, poor ones.

–LeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeRoy, giant of Good Choice judgment.

    Well-played, MAR.

  24. dad29

LeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeRoy, how about an answer to the $6,000.00 question?  The money Walker took out of your pocket, remember?  How did he do that?  Was it health premiums?  Pension contributions?

Or was it “poor choices” on YOUR part?

  25. Jason

Good luck.  He came here a month, maybe two months ago with some sob story about buying airline tickets for his family and his grandkids and getting screwed over on that when the Covid Cancellations started coming in.  Never shared any details because he doesn’t want the truth known.   He wants pity from online strangers…. I almost think he’s actually living in his mom’s basement in something like Lincoln Park or Bowling Brook.  Mommy and Daddy only have a mid-sized McMansion and he feels bad about it.

  26. MjM

Jason guesses “I almost think he’s actually living in his mom’s basement ….”

That would make mom 120 years old.

  27. Mar

So, that’s the best you got Le Roi, after you got caught lying again?
    So sad. So pathetic.

  28. Le Roi du Nord

Keep it up guys, if you keep working on your fiction eventually you’ll get published. But not soon.

  29. dad29

    Weak.
