House Votes Down Impeachment

Ha!

(CNN)The House on Wednesday easily defeated an effort from a Texas Democrat to impeach President Donald Trump in a vote that highlighted the Democratic fissures when it comes to impeachment.

Rep. Al Green was able to force the vote under House rules — the first that Congress has taken related to impeachment since Democrats took control of the chamber this year — in what amounted to the most direct challenge yet to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s handling of impeachment.
The 332-95 vote divided Democrats, with 95 — a little more than 40% of the Democratic caucus — voting against tabling it, or voting to keep it alive. There were 137 Democrats who joined all Republicans in voting to defeat the measure.
Green’s decision to bring up his resolution presented a dilemma for impeachment supporters and moderate Democrats alike, as they’re now on the record for their vote, even if Green’s resolution was only focused on one issue — what he says is the President’s “bigotry and racism” — out of many Democrats are wrestling with on whether to move forward on impeachment.

America is sick of being accused of “bigotry and racism” for just going about our lives to make America Great!

It is a sickening false witness that liberals keep making. We have a bigger problem with liberal hoaxes—wherr racism is made up—like Jessie Smollett.

Liberals still have not apologized for that. In fact some still hold to narrative that his hoax was real. A real mental disorder.

  2. Le Roi du Nord

Odd you would comment on folks bearing false witness, as that is the MO of you and trump.  Another case of double standards.

And why no praise for the majority of D’s that voted against impeachment?

  3. Pat

Kevin says, “America is sick of being accused of “bigotry and racism” for just going about our lives to make America Great!”

No. America is not sick of being accused of bigotry and racism. There are only bigots, racists, and Trumpanzees that that are sick of being accused of being bigots and racists.

  4. Kevin Scheunemann

    Pat,

America is not sick of being accused of “bigotry and racism”?

Only a race hustler would say that.

What about racists on left?   The ones that say accusing someone of beng a “communicts is “white Supremecy”.   Or that simply saying “Make America Great Again” is “white privilege”?  Or those that say black people can only truly be “black” by only embracing liberal policies.   the sick cancer of racism and bigotry lies on the liberals side, in spades.

    Focus on the big evil.

    Nord,

Those democrats voted against impeachment simply for political optics, not because of some deep principle that there was no impeachable crime.   In a way, their calculation makes me vomit.      Now, if you point out a Democrat that came out and said “this is insane, I may disagree with Trump, but disagreement is not a reason for impeachment.”  I will take that Democrat at face value and praise that Democrat.   Can you point to even one?

  5. Pat

Kevin questions, “America is not sick of being accused of “bigotry and racism”?”

Nope. The majority of Americans are sick of Trumpism and his spineless minions.

  6. Mark Hoefert

Kevin says, “America is sick of being accused of “bigotry and racism” for just going about our lives to make America Great!”

Certainly one of the factors cited in “The Great Revolt – Inside the Populist Coalition Reshaping American Politics”.  A good book that explains how Trump managed to accumulate enough electoral votes to win.  The research in the book indeed explains Democrats that reluctantly voted for Trump for that very reason.

Trump is continuing to exploit “fractures in the coalition of the ascendant”, a Democrat strategy that is in itself racist in it’s presumptions and assumptions about the characteristics of various races and ethnic groups as well as changing demographics.

    https://www.huffpost.com/entry/fractures-in-the-coalitio_b_13379002

From the author of the HuffPost article:

Trump’s comments about Mexican-Americans? They’re not too far off from what you hear in some Dominican or Puerto Rican barbershops. His call for a Muslim ban or limiting illegal immigration? Music to the ears for some Indian-Americans and African-Americans.

As Trump’s campaign lobbied for the Indian-American vote, the Clinton campaign assumed a uniform South Asian voting bloc would rise to the occasion, ignoring the very real tensions that exist among immigrant communities from the Indian subcontinent.

Just days after the election, my own family members (all of whom are staunch, straight-ticket Democratic voters) began to share stories of their friends (also Democrats) who voted for Trump because they perceived him to be pro-India. Some of my Latino friends said their family members voted Trump for myriad reasons, but their social conservatism played a similar role.

    Pat,

Are you saying people enjoy being accused of racism and bigotry for simply working hard, going about their business, demanding limited government, and celebrating the greatness of America?

If so, you are off your nut.

  8. Pat

But Kevin, Trumpanzees don’t represent the majority of Americans. They represent a minority of misguided, narrow minded individuals.

  9. Mar

Pat, we also don’t care for deranged haters like yourself.

  10. Merlin

Impeachment? What Democrats of influence are currently concerned about is whether or not Trump and his fair-weather Republican “friends” will successfully brand The Squad as being anti-American, painting them as the face of the Democrat Party, and thereby intensifying the Democrat infighting going into 2020. If Pelosi and Hoyer weren’t between the proverbial rock and a hard place before this week, they sure are now.

  11. Le Roi du Nord

    k:

“Now, if you point out a Democrat that came out and said”this is insane, I may disagree with Trump, but disagreement is not a reason for impeachment”. ”  Well, Pelosi has been saying that all along.  You need to keep up to date on the news.  Or have you been in agreement with her all along?

And I agree in principle, as impeaching him at this time will only make a martyr of  him.  If you thought he is seriously crazy now blaming everyone else for his problems, wait till articles of impeachment are issued.  I would prefer we suffer through the rest of the insanity and elect someone with an IQ and vocabulary greater than a carrot.

  12. Kevin Scheunemann

Pelosi has been timid at best.   She has been opposed because it is bad political strategy, not becuase she is some big crusader of principle.

She cannot keep her radical “squad” in line.

She is simply not bat crap crazy like the squad.   That is the best compliment she deserves for her enabling the squad.

  13. Pat

Mark says, “Pat, we also don’t care for deranged haters like yourself.”

I fully realize that. But what does that have to do with the fact that Trumpanzees don’t represent the majority of Americans.

  14. Pat

I love how the term “Squad” has been adopted. The theme from The Mod Squad keeps playing through my head. They should use that when referencing them.

Another case of double standards.  –LeeeeeeeeRoy

Off-topic, except for “double standards”:  I was reminded that Evers, Hero of the Proletariat, stole $15MM from ‘local road aids’ to slam into TommyTrolley’s Trolley in Milwaukee.

Haven’t heard an unhappy word from LeeeeeeeeeeeeRoy, and I’m not holding my breath, either.

  16. dad29

The majority of Americans are sick of Trumpism and his spineless minions.

How much of your 401(k) do you want to bet on that in the ’20 election, Pat?

  17. Pat

    I don’t have a 401(k), Dud.

  18. Kevin Scheunemann

    Pat,

I prefer the “Mean girls squad”, because that is exactly what they are.   Can we impeach them?

  19. Pat

    “Can we impeach them?”

Sure. You can do what ever you want, Kevin.

  20. Mar

You have to feel sorry for the liberals here, they keep on losing to Trump. For instance, this weekend, the 9th Circuit ruled the Trump administration can with funds from sanctuary cities.
In just about every case, Trump kicks liberals butts. No wonder they are the party of bitter haters.

  21. Pat

“You have to feel sorry for the liberals here, they keep on losing to Trump.”

    He’s such a winner!

  22. Mar

At least you admit it, Pat.

  23. Le Roi du Nord

    k:

Pelosi has been anything but timid on the issue of impeachment.  You can spin that any way you want but that doesn’t make you correct.  And which party, Ror D, hasn’t been saying things based on political strategy?  Those two comments from you prove a) an incredible ignorance of current affairs, and/or b) such a narrow-minded ideology that it is restricting blood flow to your brain.  Or perhaps the after affects of that earlier self-imposed wedgie .

    dud:

I keep a pretty close eye on local road funding so please enlighten us on this gem, “I was reminded that Evers, Hero of the Proletariat, stole $15MM from ‘local road aids’ to slam into TommyTrolley’s Trolley in Milwaukee.”.  Use facts if they fit your spin.  Thanks.

  24. Kevin Scheunemann

    Nord,

She is not standing on principle, but political calculation.

For sake of argument, what are the high crimes and misdemeanors we are suppose to impeach this awesome president over?

Because he says mean things to libs?

  25. Pat

“She is not standing on principle, but political calculation.”

Is that any different than Mitch McConnell?

  26. Kevin Scheunemann

I’ll rip Mitch any day of the week as well.

    What is your excuse?

  27. Pat

I’ve never heard you rip McConnell for him being an obstructionist.

  28. dad29

    You could start here:  https://drydenwire.com/news/rep-quinn-says-vetoes-hurt-rural-areas/

As to TommyTrolley’s Trolley–that’s what we call ‘informed speculation.’  Evers and Tommy both lust after having Mo’Trolley!! ready for the Dem Conven next summer, and that will NOT happen without a boatload of new money.
