Moose Envy

Heh.

For three decades, the Canadian city of Moose Jaw took pride in its status as the home of the world’s largest moose statue.

Standing at a majestic 10 meters tall, Mac the Moose has weathered brutal winters, graffiti and even the inglorious loss of his jaw. His recognition was so great that in 2013, he was named the city’s most popular celebrity.

But status and renown can be fleeting.

In 2015, Norway responded with its own moose sculpture – Storelgen, or “Big Elk” – a glitzy stainless steel bull, erected with the explicit aim of surpassing Mac’s height and stealing his place in the record books.

Now, however, the Canadians are fighting back, after a pair of comedians called Norway’s statue “an egregious offence” and pleaded with Moose Jaw residents to restore the city’s stolen glory.

“You are a city famous around the world for the glorious name of Moose Jaw,” Justin Reves told residents in a video posted to Facebook. “And everyone that comes by, knows that this should be the world’s tallest moose.”

Standing in front of a forlorn Mac, Reves and colleague Greg Moore implored the residents to act quickly by adding 31cm to Mac, to “stick it to Oslo”.

Sounds like 2 socialist countries suffering from “toxic masculinity”.

Someone release the intersectional hounds on them.

  2. Le Roi du Nord

While I really don’t get a hoot about who has the biggest moose, it is interesting to point out that those two “socialist” countries have better ranking for:

Quality of life: Canada #1, Sweden #3, US #17  (US News and World Report)

Health Care System Performance: Sweden #23, Canada #30, US # 37. France is #1.  (WHO)

  3. Kevin Scheunemann

    Nord,

Does not matter, they suffer from “toxic masculinity” in this fight, so in the libeal intersectional lexicon it wipes out all good they did (if any), condemns you because of the toxicity, and there is no chance for forgivenss, ever.

Those are the liberal lexicon rules.

Nothing else matters, even though both those categories have a horrible liberal skew from those sources.

We are #1 in health care innovation and every other country, especially socialist, should be thankful we lead so well.    You propose destroying everyone by turning us into the asheap of failed socialist countries.

  4. Le Roi du Nord

    Nonsense.  All of it.

Could you provide the source of your so-called “liberal lexicon” ?  Does Amazon carry it?

And at least I provided sources for those rankings.  You provided nothing.  Some things never change.

  5. jjf

Kevin, y0u are parroting words like “intersectionality” without even trying to understand what they mean.  Who out there thinks you can’t recognize your own flaws and can’t correct them?  Only you?

  6. Kevin Scheunemann

    Jjf,

You should warn me before using all those trigger words.   I could get offended before you offer me a proper safe space…

I don’t want a feminist getting upset with you for toxic masculinity.

  7. Le Roi du Nord

Since k is the smartest person in the world, perhaps he could share his definitions of ‘intersectionality’, and ‘toxic masculinity’ as used in the context of this thread.  But I’ll bet he won’t…..

  8. Kevin Scheunemann

    Nord,

Toxic Masculinity= the leftist notion of blaming men for anything. Generally denoted by feminist hatred of simple phrases like “man up”. In aggregate the liberal attempt to castrate men from their role as father, husband, or protector of women.

Intersectionality is a sick form of liberal identity politics where the value of your opinion is determined by how many victim groups you belong to. You like to discount my opinion because you perceive me as belonging to no victim group.

    Happy to educate you anytime.

  9. jjf

Here’s a site trying to explain “toxic masculinity.”  It doesn’t sound like what you describe.

I don’t understand where you think someone’s opinion is valued more because they might belong to several groups.  It’s more an “also” and not a “better.”  A lesbian Latina does have some valuable perspectives connected to her place and culture.

So tell me how “intersectionality” was used correctly in your comments here…

  10. Le Roi du Nord

    k:

I am so sad that in your locale toxic masculinity (by your definition) is rampant.  Up here, and in the NW parts of the state, that isn’t the case.  It must due be all the pollution in your drinking water cause by failure to follow MS4 guidelines.

No, I discount your opinion because you use dishonesty and hyperbole to further your agenda.  Facts and truth on your part may garner some respect on my part.

I don’t identify with any “victim” group.  Unless you want to count those drafted in the ’70’s. But you wouldn’t have any concept of what that entailed, would you?

  11. Kevin Scheunemann

    Jjf,

Wow, did you really link to that?

    Consider your manhood card revoked.

I did like the opening line that defining “toxic masculinity” is @tricky” just after you ripped my definition.

If it is “tricky”, why is my definition any more or less valid, than your web site, which requires you to burn your man card?

  12. Kevin Scheunemann

    Jjf,

    You guys are really delicate.

My opening post was all humor about 2 socialist fighting about who had the bigger Moose.

I made a “toxic masculinity” reference, which socialists should be mindful of in a “mine is bigger” fight.

I then referenced releasing the “intersectional hounds” on them where the victims of the “mine is bigger than his” moose fight should be excoriated by the victims of the fight.

You and Nord truly have proved that liberalism has killed any comedy in our society. Liberals have no sense of humor even in the comedy gold of who has the bigger moose!

Everything is a victim status lecture these days or a “don’t you dare upset the victim hierarchy”.

  13. Le Roi du Nord

    k:

You don’t have a humorous molecule in your body.  If you hadn’t used the word socialist I would have ignored you, but you just had to take a poke at folks different than you.  Mr. Intolerance spoke again.

You are probably the most self-proclaimed victim in the country, right up there with your idol, 45.  You have claimed persecution and all sorts of perceived wrongs from UWM, DNR, EPA, DOT, IRS, public schools, any religion not yours, any political position other than yours, minorities, ad nauseum.  You should have a big red “VICTIM” tattooed on your forehead.

You want comedy? Read any speech or tweet from 45.  If they were so tragic they’d be funny.

    Carry on.

  14. Le Roi du Nord

More threats, eh little fella?  Welcome back.

  15. Le Roi du Nord

Good work little paul, you are continuing your streak from 2018, still 0 for forever.

So you are withholding evidence?  Probably a felony on your part.

  16. Kevin Scheunemann

    Nord,

I’m hilarious on my post at the top.

Can’t help it if you are part of the liberal lexicon that is killing comedy.

I’d say my funny bone is much bigger than yours, but that might trigger you.

  17. Le Roi du Nord

There you are again,  comparing size rather than ability.  Is that a conservative thing?  Or a symptom of your insecurity?  How trumpesque.

  18. Kevin Scheunemann

    As predicted.

    Triggered.

  19. Le Roi du Nord

Nope.  But if it makes you feel more secure, go for it.

  20. Kevin Scheunemann

Socialists fighting over the size of their moose….it’s OK to laugh.

    Try it sometime.

  21. Le Roi du Nord

I’ll take Red Skeleton to Don Rickles any day.   But bullying cowards get off on putting others down.  Carry on.

  22. Kevin Scheunemann

    I’ll bite.

How does making fun of socialists fighting over the size of their moose “put others down”?

You are killing comedy in your virtue signaling wokeness.

  23. Le Roi du Nord

“Let us neither express, nor cherish, any harsh feeling towards any citizen who, by his vote, has differed with us. Let us at all times remember that all American citizens are brothers of a common country, and should dwell together in the bonds of fraternal feeling.”    A. Lincoln

  24. Kevin Scheunemann

    Nord,

I was talking about Canadians and citizens of Norway, so Lincoln does not apply here.

You used Lincoln to cover the simple question, “who did I put down?”

Again, you make an absurd assertion and can’t produce any evidence.

  25. Le Roi du Nord

“Let us neither express, nor cherish, any harsh feeling towards any citizen who, by his vote, has differed with us”.

What part of that don’t you understand?

Evidence is YOUR enemy.  You refuse to provide even a smidgen of evidence that the earth is only 6000, that creationism is real, or that climate change is a hoax, the storm water regulations unfairly affect the poor,  yet you want evidence ??  Wow…..

  26. Kevin Scheunemann

    Nord,

    Lighten up buttercup.

We are talking about socialists fighting who has the bigger moose!

If we cannot make fun of that, you truly are a joyless guy.

  27. jjf

Kevin, there are many posts where you immediately make it about something else.

  28. jjf

Paul?  I don’t see Paul.  He made threats again?

  29. Le Roi du Nord

No k, you are talking about socialists.  The good folks in Canada and Norway are talking about moose statuary.  Nowhere in the article can you find the word “socialist”, or any reference to it.

Also in the same article, “For two decades, the city of Duncan in British Columbia has feuded with the US town of Eveleth, Minnesota, over which is home to the world’s largest hockey stick”.   Make a meaningless political statement about that……

  30. Le Roi du Nord

    jjf:

little paulie was here for a little bit, used bad language and threatened folks.  Owen must have tossed him again.  That guy is a slow learner.

  31. Kevin Scheunemann

    Nord,

I guess “lighten up buttercup” means you should double down on “serious outrage” that I dared to call them “socialists”.

Snowflakes are really falling this week.

  32. jjf

Kevin, what names would Jesus call people who disagreed with him?

  33. Le Roi du Nord

    k:

Those are your opinions, not mine.  I never used those words or thoughts.  Why do you need to be so disingenuous??

  34. Kevin Scheunemann

    Nord,

Because you are a monkey flinging poo sometimes.

  35. Kevin Scheunemann

    Jjf,

    Satan, demon, unbeliever.

    Why do you ask?

  36. Le Roi du Nord

    k:

There you go, calling people names and making slurs when you have no argument to defend yourself.  That behavior adds nothing to your credibility, and no doubt violates one of your religius laws….

  37. jjf

Re: “snowflakes,” there’s a tweet going around that says “When people call you a “snowflake” just remember they’re quoting Fight Club,  a satire written by a gay man about how male fragility causes men to destroy themselves, resent society, and become radicalized, and that Tyler Durden isn’t the hero but a personification of the main character’s mental illness, and that his “snowflake” speech is a dig at how fascists use dehumanizing language to breed loyalty from insecure people. So basically people who say “snowflake” as an insult are quoting a domestic terrorist who blows up skyscrapers because he’s insecure about how good he is in bed.”

  38. Merlin

Well, if it’s in a tweet it’s got to be gospel. Or it could just be as simple as they’re calling you a snowflake because they’re too polite to call you a fucking idiot. I’m not into linguistics, so I’m open to the possibility that I could be wrong about that.

  39. Kevin Scheunemann

    JJF,

I was curious, where were you going with the Jesus question?

That snowflake sermon was hilarious BTW.   Maybe liberal humor is not totally dead, the key is: you don’t know that you are being downright hilarioous!

  40. jjf

Do you think you’re being Christ-like when you call people names?  Do you think it strengthens your argument?

  41. Kevin Scheunemann

    I’ll bite.

What name did I use that went “over the line”?

  42. Kevin Scheunemann

    Jjf,

Still waiting for your response to your baseless, awful accusation?

  43. jjf

Sorry, didn’t see your latest demand.

Baseless?  Awful?  Who would Jesus call “snowflake” and “buttercup”?

Do you think his heart would be full of the same provocative meanness that’s in yours when you do that?

  44. Kevin Scheunemann

    jjf,

Just to be clear, you are calling me out for calling someone “snowflake” and “buttercup”?

    Seriously?

You couldn’t find anything worse to back up your accusation of “name calling”?

I’m pretty happy if “snowflake” and “buttercup” is all you got.

I’m hoping to offend using the word “unicorn” someday.

  45. Le Roi du Nord

    k:

Just so everybody is clear on this, you are asking jjf to respond to his own comment, “Still waiting for your response to your baseless, awful accusation?” ??   That seems like a pointless request.  Or did you mean something else?  Please clarify.  Thanks

  46. Kevin Scheunemann

    Nord,

I just want to know that “snowflake” and “buttercup” actually causes both of you to work up some moral disgust, given your lack of open disgust for calls of violence against the Covington kids.

“Buttercup” and “snowflake” is too rough for both of you?

  47. Le Roi du Nord

    k:

So you don’t have an answer for why you made such a weird request?

Nothing you have would be “too rough” for me.  I’d love to see what a DI like Sgt. Mike would do with a tough talker like you.  It would be worth the trip.

  48. Kevin Scheunemann

    Nord,

Jjf started it by claiming I “name called”.

I merely asked for facts when you make slanderous accusations against me.

Those are the 2 he came up with.

    It was hilarious.

  49. jjf

I dunno, Kevin, for someone so woke to the evil way that some horrible people said some awful provocative things about and to those innocent Covington kids, you don’t seem to be able to recognize the vitriol in the words you use yourself.  Are you a real man?  Are you tough enough?  Do you have what it takes?  Do you have enough toxic masculinity to get through your day?

  50. Kevin Scheunemann

    Jjf,

Seriously, are you arguing “snowflake” and “buttercup” is “vitriol”?

    Really?
