New Mexican Governor Suspends Constitution

Remember when we said that the Marxists were trying to declare “gun crime” a public health emergency so that they could use emergency power to abuse our Constitutional rights? Remember when America proved it by allowing them to use the public health system to suspend our rights and we warned that that was the beginning – not the end?

Realize where we are.

SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) — New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham on Friday issued an emergency order suspending the right to carry firearms in public across Albuquerque and the surrounding county for at least 30 days in response to a spate of gun violence.

The Democratic governor said she expects legal challenges but was compelled to act because of recent shootings, including the death of an 11-year-old boy outside a minor league baseball stadium this week.

Lujan Grisham said state police would be responsible for enforcing what amount to civil violations. Albuquerque police Chief Harold Medina said he won’t enforce it, and Bernalillo County Sheriff John Allen said he’s uneasy about it because it raises too many questions about constitutional rights.

The firearms suspension, classified as an emergency public health order, applies to open and concealed carry in most public places, from city sidewalks to urban recreational parks. The restriction is tied to a threshold for violent crime rates currently only met by the metropolitan Albuquerque. Police and licensed security guards are exempt from the temporary ban.

Bernalillo County Sheriff John Allen Failed miserably.

“While I understand and appreciate the urgency, the temporary ban challenges the foundation of our constitution, which I swore an oath to uphold,” Allen said. “I am wary of placing my deputies in positions that could lead to civil liability conflicts, as well as the potential risks posed by prohibiting law-abiding citizens from their constitutional right to self-defense.”

He should have said the governor was under arrest for misconduct in public office.

The governor of Albuquerque is now as illegitimate as the liberal members of the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

Even more concerning. She renounced her oath of office.

“No constitutional right, in my view, including my oath, is intended to be absolute,” she retorted. Grisham cited restrictions on free speech as an example of how rights can be curtailed in emergency situations.

In December 2019, a former campaign staffer and spokesperson, James Hallinan, accused Lujan Grisham of sexual battery. According to Hallinan, the incident took place during a staff meeting in 2018. By his account, Lujan Grisham poured a bottle of water on his crotch and then slapped and grabbed his crotch through his pants while laughing. He said the incident happened “in front of everybody”.

In April 2021, it was publicized that Lujan Grisham and her gubernatorial campaign, while denying the allegations, had reached a $62,500 settlement with the law firm representing Hallinan. The payment was made in monthly installments of $12,500 from November 2020 to March 2021.[63] Her political committee paid another $87,500 over six months, bringing the total payout to $150,000.

I wonder if Pelosi, Schiff, Schumer, Nader, and all the dimwhits here are as upset with her sexual assault and payments as they are by Trump’s? Actually, I don’t wonder… I know the hypocrisy that is in the bloodwork of the Left.

You mean she used SACRED CAMPAIGN FUNDS to pay off a lawsuit?

I remember when Dave Schultz used campaign funds to buy a new suit. The Journal tried to make that into a crime, too.

The governor is a lawyer and the GOP ought go after her law license.
Just as liberals are going after law licenses of conservatives, conservatives need to go after the law licenses of liberals along with business licenses, hell, even driver’s licenses if they can.

Not to mention it was a Biden judge who bitch slapped her.

  8. Jason

    Uh… I did mention that.
