Cornyn Leaves Gun Control Negotiation

Let’s hope this breaks down further.

Sen. John Cornyn of Texas, a lead GOP bargainer, seemed visibly unhappy as he left Thursday’s closed-door session after nearly two hours, saying he was flying home.

“This is the hardest part because at some point, you just got to make a decision. And when people don’t want to make a decision, you can’t accomplish the result. And that’s kind of where we are right now,” Cornyn said.

“I’m not frustrated, I’m done,” he added, though he said he was open to continued discussions.

Cornyn has to have known from the outset that negotiation and compromise was not going to be a Democrat strategy. Dems are going to do whatever they want for as long as they possibly can by whatever means necessary. All while whining about the deterioration of democracy.

Anti gun activists have never compromised.

Immediately after any legislation is passed they say “It’s a good first step”.
1934 NFA was ” A good first step.”

1968 GCA was ” A good first step.”

1986 FOPA was ” A good first step.”

1994 AWB was ” A good first step.”

10 round mag limits were ” A good first step.”

7 round mag limits were ” A good first step.”

Limiting firearms to what is “in common use” was ” A good first step.”

A semi-auto ban would be ” A good first step.”

A ban on all except single shot firearms would be ” A good first step.”

Then they can REALLY get started on gun control…
