As usual, the Trump hating NPR is wrong.
1. One ship is on the way to Seattle and it was said in the press conference, and I watched it, it was made clear the NYC bound ship was in the shipyard and it take weeks to get to NYC.
2. The drug was approved to use to fight the virus. Trump gave his opinion and he said many times that it was his opinion.
3. The president was right and Google probably was right. It was an affiliated company with Google.
4. The government ordered the supplies and does NPR expect the supplies to be at different hospitals? Perhaps the hospitals that needed the equipment could have done a better job ordering?
5. NPR uses antedotal evidence to try and support their claims there ate not enough tests. Maybe in some areas there may be shortages and other areas they probably have enough. If we can test professional athletes and the rich, I suspect there are enough around. Of course, I am using anecdotal evidence, like NPR.

I watched the press conference and obviously you didn’t. President Trump gave his opinion. He didn’t say the drug was the cure all. He said it has to be tested.

I watched it too. Fauci–who loves him some camera time–wants to make certain that the quinine derivative is efficacious. He made a point of saying that he has no other reservations or objections. OTOH, Trump said, OFTEN, that it was his opinion the drug would be useful and he thinks that giving it to someone may well resolve the illness.
IOW, the drug does no harm. Fauci wants to be cautious, which is nice for a bureaucrat, but not for the people who are dying and could find relief with the damn thing.
Fauci is a life-long bureaucrat, which is worth noting.
And NPR is a bunch of tools. I subject myself to them as a Lenten penance; they are often wrong on the facts but never uncertain of their rectitude.
