Oregon Governor Turns to Dictatorial Rule As Global Warming Legislation Stalls

Totalitarianism in the name of Climate Change. That is the goal, after all.

Oregon Gov. Kate Brown said Monday that she’s ready to use her executive power to lower carbon emissions following a nine-day Republican walkout that derailed landmark climate legislation and embroiled the state in a political crisis pitting liberal cities against rural residents.

The Democratic governor said she wants to move forward through the executive branch if lawmakers can’t approve meaningful climate legislation. She directed her staff to go back to rural communities and industries over the next few months to find points of compromise on what would be the nation’s second statewide cap and trade program.

[…]

“Working on legislation is my preferred approach,” she told reporters. “However, given the uncertainty that now permeates Oregon’s political system, I am also directing my staff and agencies to explore alternative paths.”

    Religious climate zealots.

  2. Pat says:

    Executive action sucks!

    Except when doesn’t.

    Funny how that works.

  3. Kevin Scheunemann says:

    Pat,

Looks a lot like bullying to me.

  4. Le Roi du Nord says:

    Pat:

Ignore k.  He uses religion to explain anything and everything he can’t or won’t understand.

  5. Kevin Scheunemann says:

That because I am a climate change cult unbeleiver.

I speak heresy to your religion.

    I only want equal funding.

…and I don’t want you to be subject to your cult convictions.

  6. Le Roi du Nord says:

    k:

No cult nor religion involved, just sound science.  You should try it..

    Did you move to Oregon?

  7. Kevin Scheunemann says:

    Nord,

The demands you make on individuals and business for your cult is not oppressive?

For what?  Some vague notion you have god-like control of the climate?

    That is pure religion.

  8. Le Roi du Nord says:

The only demands I make are honesty and integrity. You should try it.

  9. MjM says:

Nort tries comedy: “… just sound science. The only demands I make are honesty and integrity.”

Blatant contradiction duly noted, but as to the latter, you have zero.

  10. Le Roi du Nord says:

How so, mumbles?  Use facts.  Thanks

  11. dad29 says:

    Trolling, Trolling, Over the In-Ter-Net,

Whenever a stormy wind does blow,

    Old Nordski’s at it yet!!

    Fact-free, Sill-ee,

    Just like his buddy Jiff!

Maybe someday he’ll use his head

And we won’t know him then!

  12. Kevin Scheunemann says:

    Nord,

So you have scientific evidence we have god-like ability to control the weather?

That is what you are saying by supporting the Oregon dictator.

Is that the first commandment of warming religion? Believe man can control the weather without any evidence?

You are an out of control zealot if you believe that.

  13. Mar says:

Elections have consequences and this is a consequence that Oregon voters have chosen. Oregon has become a State of hate and violence and should be boycotted. Oregon really has no good values nor benifits the United States.

  14. dad29 says:

In all likelihood, Oregonians living EAST of the Cascades are normal Americans, just like residents of the State of Washington.

The wack-a-doos live on the coast and, unfortunately, constitute a majority of the residents of those States.

  15. MjM says:

    Nort mumbles: “Use facts.”

Something you are demonstrably deficient in doing.

Your “sound science” is based in what?  Use facts.  Thanks.

And say, where is Conner Sports in Wisconsin?   Please apply your level, if any,  of integrity and honesty in response to that still-unanswered question posed to you months ago.

  16. Le Roi du Nord says:

    Folks, and you too, k:

If you don’t believe in CC/GW that’s fine.  It’s a free country and you can believe whatever you want.  But unlike religion, science uses the scientific method, observations, and the ability to repeat the same experiment to prove validity.  Surely you have all benefited  from the fruits of scientific endeavor; medicine, transportation, even the computer you use to spew ignorance.

If you don’t like the politics in OR, don’t go there.  The governor of Oregon was duly elected by the voters, so the claim of dictatorship is another falsehood. If you think that coastal Oregonians aren’t “normal” Americans, prove it.  What is your definition of normal?

And once again, k doesn’t have the right to put his words in someones mouth.

  17. Kevin Scheunemann says:

    Nord,

Still not seeing the science where these Oregon dictates convert into your god-like belief, man can control the weather by his actions?

    Use facts.

  18. Le Roi du Nord says:

    k:

And you won’t because science doesn’t fall prey to your religious gibberish.

And where have I ever said that man can control the weather?  And have you ever taken the time to figure out the difference between weather and climate?

  19. MjM says:

Nort prattles on and on and on, offers zero facts: “… science uses the scientific method, observations, and the ability to repeat the same experiment to prove validity.”

Of course, none of those apply to your religion of GWScientology.

Known Fact:  NONE of the the climate models that you believe in have ever been validated and none of them are based on traditional mathematical statistics.

Known Fact:   NOAA and NASA have been annually changing past actual observed temps down to make the minute rise in global temp appear much greater.  IOW,  screw past observations.

Known Fact:  NOAA’s 2015 Global Annual Analysis claimed 2015 was the hottest global year on record at 58.62F, “beating the previous record warmth of 2014”,  a notion loudly amplified, as usual, by Leftstream Mediots and GWScientologists like you   Yet NOAA’s own GAA from 1997 stated the global temp in 1997 was 62.45F.

To paraphrase, if you are stupid enough believe in the lies and manipulations of your fellow GWScientologists, that’s fine.  It a free country.  But don’t expect the rest of us to bow down to – and pay for –  your stupidity and religious zealotry.

  20. Le Roi du Nord says:

    mumbles:

Since you make those claims they must be true, right?  Perhaps you could provide a link (from a reputable site) to back them up.  Thanks.

  21. guinness says:

You all know that if you ignored this liberal troll, he would go away.

  22. MjM says:

Nort agrees: “…those claims they must be true, right?”

Why, yes. Yes they are. Glad to see you accept.

Perhaps you should try reading something else besides the publicly-edited Weakipedia once in a while. Try the IPCC for discussions on climate models and their consistent and necessary use of the term “evaluation”, which GWScientologists like yourself somehow manage to confuse with “validation”. Then head over to NOAA and – whodda thunk! – check out their reports.

I know it’s hard and somewhat time consuming, numbnutz, but reading beyond the headlines and maybe doing just a little extracurricular investigation here and there can really help expand the mind.

Just think! You might even discover where Conner Sports is actually located!

Not that you would ever admit lying about it, tho.

  23. MjM says:

@guinness. But what would we do for fun?

  24. guinness says:

I find it more satisfying to share some intelligent thoughts versus trying to debate with someone who is hopelessly brainwashed.

  25. Pat says:

It’s always more satisfying when conversing with individuals who steadfast agree and think the same.

  26. Kevin Scheunemann says:

    Nord,

You did not use facts that all this regulation/laws/penalities/fines, etc. will change the weather?

    Use facts.

  27. guinness says:

Ah yes. Another liberal troll to ignore.

  28. Pat says:

    Kevin is far from liberal.

  29. guinness says:

    I was referring to Pat.

  30. Pat says:

Now now Mike. Play nice. I thought I was agreeing with you. And then you turn on me.

    Oh, and I’m a libertarian.

  31. guinness says:

If I wrongly interpretted you, my apologies.

By the way, my name is not Mike.

  32. Kevin Scheunemann says:

    Nord,

Still waiting for the “facts” where your god-like belief Oregon can affect the climate and change the weather with this totalitarian action?

    Use facts.
