Virginia Governor Caught in Scandal

The man just advocated infanticide and I’m supposed to get outraged over this?

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam appears to have almost no choice but to resign after losing support from virtually the entire state Democratic party and other key allies, who late Friday urged the governor to leave office because of a racist photo in which he appeared more than 30 years ago.

[…]

The yearbook images were first published Friday afternoon by the conservative news outlet Big League Politics. The Virginian-Pilot later obtained a copy from Eastern Virginia Medical School, which Northam attended. The photo shows two people looking at the camera — one in blackface wearing a hat, bow tie and plaid pants; the other in a full Ku Klux Klan robe.

An Associated Press reporter saw the yearbook page and confirmed its authenticity at the medical school.

In his first apology, issued in a written statement, Northam called the costume he wore “clearly racist and offensive,” but he didn’t say which one he had worn.

When you combine Democrats racist infanticide combined with the Democrats awful history of racism…yes I think we should be even more outraged.

Abortion is Democrats enforcing their disgusting racism in worst possible way.

We are just seeing how deep the racism runs with this story.

  2. dad29

There’s an argument to be made over the word “more” in Owen’s post.  Is it MORE outrageous that he was posing as a racist killer or is it MORE outrageous that he’s in fact a baby-killer?

One thing is certain:  that leopard’s spots never changed.

  3. jjf

    Here’s Fox News’ quote:

Northam, a former pediatric neurologist, … said that third-trimester abortions are done with ‘the consent of obviously the mother, with consent of the physician, multiple physicians by the way, and it’s done in cases where there may be severe deformities or there may be a fetus that’s not viable.’ ‘So in this particular example if a mother is in labor, I can tell you exactly what would happen, the infant would be delivered. The infant would be kept comfortable. The infant would be resuscitated if that’s what the mother and the family desired, and then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and the mother.’”

So what would you like to have happen with a non-viable birth?

You’re not outraged that someone with a clearly racist past is running a state?

    He should resign.

  5. jjf

3rd, how do you feel about Trump and Steve King?

  6. Merlin

Racist and a baby killer makes for some pretty solid Democrat cred, although they’re not quite yet comfortable giving standing ovations to their racism. They’ll keep that in the closet for a bit longer.

  7. Kevin Scheunemann

Ralph Northam might be a 5th Trimester abortion I might Support!

Democrats have been fairly muted relative to the words they twisted in the Brent K. yearbook.

Ralph is done.   I love it when this atmosphere of SJW lynching actually eats their own racists.

Can’t wait until it hits this racist Muslim congresswoman from MN!

  8. 3rd Way

King is clearly a racist and shouldn’t be representing anyone in our democracy.

Trump is clearly a malignant narcissist with racist tendencies and shouldn’t be representing anyone in our democracy.

Certain aspects of the Democratic base are racist and sexist and are toxic to our national political discussion.

Certain aspects of the Republican base are racist and sexist and are toxic to our national political discussion.

Shun and force out racists. This shouldn’t be hard.

  9. Kevin Scheunemann

    3rd way,

    Did King advocate killing anyone?

I think King should be gone, but what Northam did, advocate racist baby killing with al Democrats cheering, and now discovering his racist past….way, way worse!

Will you excise all the Anti-Semites out of Democrat Party?   That would mean AT LEAST 10-20 Democrat congresspeople gone, maybe a Senator or two.

  10. dad29

there may be severe deformities or there may be a fetus that’s not viable.’

You see that word “MAY” in there?  Even for most illiterates, that does not mean “IS.”

What I would do?  Exactly what we (my wife and I) did.  Baby arrived alive, was baptized, died.   We are not snowflakes; we get ‘the human condition.’  So facilitating LESS than the  human condition makes someone sub-human, just like Northam.

I’m all with you on that.

  12. Kevin Scheunemann

    Nord,

So you are calling on Ralph Northam to resign?

  13. steveegg

    A handful of random points:

    – Northam’s currently blocking what would be Virginia’s second African-American governor, current Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax.  Given what Northam had admitted to doing yesterday (like any good Democrat, he has since walked back that admission with a demand for the use of facial recognition software on the photo in question, which means he’s most likely the one in the KKK hood), and the fact that Fairfax is descended from slaves, one cannot overstate the importance of that dynamic.

    – If Northam survives another 23 months (and a few days), he will have maxed out his base pension benefit, as Virginia’s defined benefit plan (for which Northam qualifies under the more generous of the two no-longer-available plans as he first became a state senator in 2008, continuously held a state elected office since, and is over 50) calculates benefits based on the 36 months of highest salary, and governor pays a lot more than either lieutenant governor or state senator.

    – If Fairfax does succeed Northam via resignation or removal, he wouldn’t be subject to Virginia’s no-consecutive-terms limit on the governor unless and until he wins election on his own.

One of the reasons for abortion in the bill under discussion is the mental health of the mother. That doesn’t reflect on the viability of the baby.

It’s a very short step from this to government controlled health care mandating abortion for babies deemed deformed or handicapped.

  15. Kevin Scheunemann

In Netherlands the sick murderous liberals there have a “checklist” where parent(s), medical “professionals” can decide to kill a baby AFTER it is born if it meets so much of criteria for extermination. It is like Hitler is rising again in Europe in these idiotic socialist states.

Liberals will not stop until they have this as part of their sick, murderous agenda!

  16. jjf

Dad29, my condolences on your loss.

I think “may be” was used there twice to indicate some examples, not to suggest the doctors weren’t certain about abnormalities or viability.

  17. Merlin

Does Northampton have any history of racism other that some adolescent idiocy?

  18. Merlin

    Northam. Friggin autocorrect.

  19. Kevin Scheunemann

    Merlin,

He supported racist infanticide just in last week with his abortion bill.

1/3 or more of all abortions are African American and only make up 11% of population.

That makes him a more awful human being, worthy of resignation than a stupid picture from 30 years ago.

Yearbook just shows his awful liberal racism has always been there.

  20. MjM

Daddio asks: “Is it MORE outrageous that he was posing as a racist killer or is it MORE outrageous that he’s in fact a baby-killer?”

The former a “thought crime”, the later being collusion, facilitation, and a conspiracy of murder, the answer is, of course, the latter. Not that one would know that by way of the Leftstream Press, themselves participants in the conspiracy.

And fwiw, Jiffy’s oh so-much concern of exuturo nonviabilty of the human child has nothing to do whatsoever with the bill’s language (the text enclosed in [] below are stricken from the bill as it existed prior to the ‘upgrade’ – the strikeouts didn’t follow the c&p on this IPad).

“b) 2. The physician [and two consulting physicians certify] certifies and [so enter] enters in the hospital record of the woman, that in [their] the physician’s medical opinion, based upon [their] the physician’s best clinical judgment, the continuation of the pregnancy is likely to result in the death of the woman or [substantially and irremediably] impair the mental or physical health of the woman.”

And if you want to understand the depth of depravity in Democrats, note how the human child is labeled in the following passage…

“ 3. Measures for life support for the product of such abortion or miscarriage [must] shall be available and utilized if there is any clearly visible evidence of viability.”

Note also that the Democrats intentionally reinstated the confusion of must/shall. For obvious reasons.

Finally, while I am never good at this and do not have your precise experience, as one who watched my father collapse upon identifying his first born, my elder, then-20 yr old sister, at the mourge, I do believe I grasp the totality. As such, I have no doubt your child felt the full force of your daddio love.

  21. MjM

Wizard wonders: “Does Northampton have any history of racism other that some adolescent idiocy?”

Adolescent?!? He was 25 in that 1984 yearbook. 1984, not 1884.

  22. Merlin

Northam may or may not be a racist, I’m just curious whether he has a history of being such as an adult aside from maybe a poor choice of costumes in med school. Common sense would indicate that if he were truly racist you wouldn’t have to reach as far back as an unidentifiable photo from med school for evidence. My curiosity is why the party that champions immorality is suddenly having pangs of conscience (false or otherwise) in Northam’s case. It’s quite out of character. There’s a long game being played here.

  23. Kevin Scheunemann

He has supported and encouraged baby killing for a long time.

Abortion is the worst prima facia racism in society today.

What more evidence do you need?

  24. dad29

Thx to JJF and MjM for your sympathies.  While I was driving home from the hospital, the Rach2 was playing on WFMR.  That work will be ‘associated’ forever, but it’s hard to think of more appropriate ones.

As to Northam:  his blood-lust is far more disturbing than any “racism” which may or may not be part of his makeup.  We are committing societal suicide-by-circular-firing-squad over inconsequential silliness such as Northam’s costume.  Some late-night Lefty comic mentioned a chicken-joint while in conversation with a black Congressman and it’s as though the comic pulled out a noose and tried to lynch him right there.

This appears to be a “squirrel!!!!” moment ginned up by the Left to take attention away from the Killing Fields of Planned Parenthood.  They don’t care about Northam; they DO care about perpetuating death, and frankly, that’s because both Deuteronomy and Jeremiah (and John, Peter, and Paul) all speak for God:  CHOOSE LIFE!

That should make clear exactly who is who in this drama.

  25. jjf

Kevin, again, why do you think more poor and low-income people get disproportionate number of abortions?

Do you think it’s because Democrats are eugenicists, or because there are policies in place that keep more black people poor?

  26. Kevin Scheunemann

    Jjf,

Skin color is not longer a dictate of poverty in America.

That is a racist notion held by you.

What is a large predictor of poverty in America is not following 3 basic rules (according t Hoover Institute).

    1.) Not finishing High School

2.) Not waiting until married to have kids.

    3.) Not having a job.

If you finish high school, wait until marriage before having kids, and getting a job, you are almost guaranteed not to be in poverty in America, without regard to race.

So get off your racism, it sickens me!

  27. MjM

Wizard wonders II : “I’m just curious whether he has a history of being such as an adult..

Well, he did, in 2013,  refuse to shake the hand of his Lt.Gov opponent…

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QqO4u0yrkjA

Or maybe he’s just an all-around jag.

Daddio gets it: “This appears to be a “squirrel!!!!” moment…”

And he, like Franken, will be sacrificed to supply cover.  In either case, not really a bad thing, but Northam’s Lt Gov is a rabid leftist (and is now denying accusation of sexual assault).

Jiffy careens: “Do you think it’s because Democrats are eugenicists….”

Obviously.  The infant killing field was built on eugenics and is fast held by folks like, oh, I dunno,  Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg (“Frankly I had thought that at the time Roe was decided, there was concern about population growth and particularly growth in populations that we don’t want to have too many of.”).

  28. dad29

    Democrats are eugenicists [?]

Yup.  And Margaret Sanger was a racist in addition.

Another famous eugenicist was Oliver Wendell Holmes; and 1900’s Republicans in Wisconsin were similarly-inclined–which is why they NEVER won the Catholic vote until, arguably, the early ’70’s in Wisconsin races.

  29. jjf

Kevin, I didn’t say that if you’re black you’re poor.  I said poor folks have more abortions, proportionately.  Why do you think that is?

So you read “Stamped from the Beginning: The Definitive History of Racist Ideas in America” over the holidays?  What did you think of it?

  30. MjM

Jiffy wimpers: “Mjm, here’s Snopes on RBG.”

Yes, because Snopes and Polifact are your gods of absolute truth.

Inane leftist fact checkers aside, when you are talking about a group, as in those “concerned”, and you use the pronoun “we”,  as did Ginsburg,  you are admitting your membership in and allegiance to that group.  No amount of snoping changes that fact.

“Always to me any aroused group was a good group, and therefore I accepted an invitation to talk to the women’s branch of the Ku Klux Klan at Silver Lake..”  – Sanger, ”

“Birth Control: To Create a Race of Thoroughbreds”:  Cover Banner, Birth Control Review, November 1921, Marget Sanger – Editor and Publisher.

  31. dad29

    Ah, yes, The Negro Project.

If Sanger were NOT racist, the term “Negro” would not have to be used, john.  And you’ll note that only one person is quoted averring that she was NOT a racist; the rest of the essay talks around it a lot.

Sanger’s eugenics noises covered her racism very well, indeed.
