Sarah Sanders Responds to Acosta

Agree with her politics or not, Sanders has to be the best press secretary we’ve had in a very long time.

The whole thing begins from Acosta’s ridiculous “question.” The press is supposed to report the news – not be the news. But Acosta didn’t use his privileged position in that room to ask hard questions of the administration. He used it to “challenge” an administration official to make a statement supporting his own profession. He was grandstanding and then continued to grandstand when he walked out. Acosta is simply positioning himself as a champion of the Left so he can cash in. Unfortunately we, the people, actually want the Fourth Estate to ask real questions, uncover actual facts, and report them to us.

Pull his WH press pass and leave his seat empty until CNN sends a professional journalist to fill the position. If CNN wants to back Acosta’s juvenile behavior just leave the seat permanently empty.

Sanders is also a serial liar so in that way , she is perfect for this President .

She was factually wrong about CNN suggesting she be choked but factually wrong is perfect for the cult members .

Trump loves the Second Amendment but really hates any version of the First Amendment other than State Run TV ( Fox)

She was factually wrong about CNN suggesting she be choked

    Naturally, you’ll provide documentation, right?

This is what she said: “It’s ironic, Jim, that not only you and the media attack the president for his rhetoric, when they frequently lower the level of conversation in this country repeatedly,” Sanders said, apparently looking down at a piece of paper. “Repeatedly, the media resorts to personal attacks without any content other than to incite anger. Repeatedly, the media has attacked me personally, on a number of occasions including your own network. Said I should be harassed as a life sentence. That I should be choked……”

Don’t know that she was necessarily saying that CNN said it. She says “the media, “including your own network”.  She gives several examples, and the choking thing reverts to something at MSNBC. As does the “harassed as a life sentence” suggestion (Jennifer Rubin, Wash. Post & MSNBC.)

Let me help you, Maley.  Here’s the quote from Sanders:

The media has attacked me personally on a number of occasions, including your own network; said I should be harassed as a life sentence, that I should be choked.

Since you allege that your wife has a Ph.D. in English, you could submit that to her for analysis, but any reading by someone with an IQ greater than room temperature shows that “The media” is the subject of the sentence, and “said” is one of the 2 verbs, and that “The media” is the subject corresponding to the verb “said.”

“Your own network” is in a clause following “attacked,” but is excluded from “should be choked.”

Reading is hard, Maley.  You need more practice.

Why are press briefings still being done in a face to face setting? By going to a modern, secure electronic live chat text format the WH could still conduct full briefings and the reporters could still participate in a Q&A from their offices or a studio. Consumers could still get their news spun this way or that depending upon the outlet, but without some of the antagonistic drama.

I don’t see much of a downside to lowering the public profile of both the people doing the briefings and the reporters participating in them. We were better off when we didn’t know any of them by name and yet we still managed to get the news the WH wanted us to have.

It is just amazing that anyone can defend Sanders, or her defense of trump.  I realize that is her job to act as a buffer to the strange, erratic, and downright untruthful things he says, but to further expand on the bs he spouts (ID for buying groceries), or to try to rationalize his or her behavior ( bin Laden phone story) with yet more deceit is lazy on it’s face, and verging on the criminal.  I would have some small bit of respect for her if at some point she just said, “I don’t know, ask POTUS to explain”.

We taxpayers are paying her $180K/year plus all sorts of perks to deal with the press, not to be a serial liar.  The fiscal conservatives out there should be all over that waste of tax dollars.  And I’m pretty sure all the religious conservatives out there must have some law carved on stone tablets regarding bearing false witness.

  8. Paul

Don’t see here where you criticized Robert Gibbs or Jay Carney for the same shit.

Maybe you need to be committed to the assisted living facility, fossil.

  9. Le Roi du Nord

    small p:

I suppose you have to come to the defense of a fellow traveler.

  10. Paul

Considering your abundant lies around here, I’d pipe down on that.

Then again when one of us kicks your ass, you take it out on Kevin.

    Hey, hey, hey BTK
How many did you kill today?

  11. dad29

Yes, Paul, I note that Maley simply moves from being soundly thrashed for lying to ……ahh…….lying some more.

We, the taxpayers, paid Obozo-the-Commie north of $400K/year for his serial lying.  Nothing but crickets from the pee-gallery of Maley, who doesn’t know how to read English.

  12. Kevin Scheunemann

    Mark,

Are you going to apologize for your lying about what Sanders actually said?

If not, your dripping lecture about honesty is very hypocritical.

I look forward to you walking your talk.

  13. Kevin Scheunemann

    Nord,

What is amazing is your inability to denounce evil leftist intersectionality, but then rip Sanders on a very honest, direct, on point, statement about the evil intersectional liberal media.

It seems you have no shame.

  14. Mark Hoefert

Leroy Nord:  I think Jonathan Gruber was talking about people like you.  You seem to fit the profile.

Hey guys, if the old, “the other guys did it too” defense is all you have we are doomed.  Shouldn’t we, all of us, be better that that??  History will not be kind to sanders or trump, nor the folks that allowed it to happen.  Guess we will have to wait and see.

k:  Pick a new word of the week, intersectionality is getting old….

  16. Mark Hoefert

Nope, Leroy, not the “other guys did it too” defense, it is your constant trope, “OMG, I have soiled my panties, we have a President who lied! This must have never happened before.”

  17. Mark Hoefert

Nord said:    Shouldn’t we, all of us, be better that that??

I am sure Kevin S could provide you theological suggestions on what it would take for that to be possible.

  18. Le Roi du Nord

Looks like keeping the bar low works for you folks.  Theology and right-wing hasn’t worked for sarah, so kevin really can’t add much to that discussion.

  19. Kevin Scheunemann

    Nord

Of course you want me to stop describing the leftist evil you tolerate and aid.

    No surprise there.
