Meeting the Queen

Heh.

(CNN)President Donald Trump will meet Queen Elizabeth for tea Friday. Nothing to worry about there.

The not-always-delicate Trump will likely be closely watched to see if he can navigate the numerous protocols surrounding the royal family without committing a faux pas.
Thinking not specifically about Trump, but as an American… I hate how the media obsesses over royal etiquette. While in another country, our Presidents should be polite and respectful of their traditions, but our Presidents are world leaders in their own right who are not required to scrape and bow according to every nuance of English etiquette. Screw that.

Quite telling that this is the kind of stuff that gets the media’s undivided attention. British royal etiquette they can be bothered to research while matters of domestic law, trade, and economics simply elude them.

Yup, the Ugly American setting new records.

    Oh Nord,

Just visited London in March…do you know who is really ugly?    Pain in the ass Brits!

I offended more than one idiot liberal Brits with my MAGA hat.

    Good Brits love Trump.

They have same problem we do…liberals.

Just wondering about the protocol of Obama sending Churchill’s bust back to England. Seems like it was a slap in the face, wasn’t it? I don’t remember much of an uproar from the Left.

  5. Merlin

The Churchill bust in the Oval Office was loaned by British Prime Minister Tony Blair to George W. Bush at the start of his presidency in 2001. Bush’s White House curator returned the bust (as is the practice with all borrowed art at the close of every presidency) to the British Ambassador’s Residence in Washington, DC prior to Barak Obama’s inauguration. Barak Obama can honestly say, “What Churchill bust in the Oval Office?”

Apparently there is a second Churchill bust (by the same sculptor) that has been on permanent display in the White House Residency since the 1960s. It isn’t clear whether the Churchill bust currently in the Oval Office is the Blair bust re-gifted to Trump or the Residence bust simply moved to the Oval Office.

    Nord,

We got the reference, it was lame.

  7. Le Roi du Nord

I doubt that you had it until I mentioned that it was a book.  You aren’t known for your literary pursuits, nor curiosity.  It is well worth the read.

  8. Paul

Shut your fucking geriatric trap, you Nazi scum. The only thing you know about books is burning them.

  9. Le Roi du Nord

Wrong again, I have never burned a book in my life.  I read lots of them, and comprehend what I am reading.  Looks like you are still 0 for 2018.

    Nord,

I don’t read anti-American liberal trash. Typical liberal academic, blaming America for the horrible evils of communism.

What Burdick’s agenda really was: He hated America being the beacon of hope against his beloved liberal philosophy hugging the evils of communism.

He was one of many liberal communist academics of 50ds and 60s that loved Soviet Russia that were traitors and owed America an apology.

I am not surprised by your liberal lovefest of this book. Personally, it sickens me.

    Nord,

You should read Radical Son by David Horowitz. It details the betrayal of academic liberals of Stalinist Russia as ideal way of life, and their “letdown” when Stalin’s horrors came to light in the 60s.

It shows the ignorant jerks academic liberal were in that time frame about communism. Liberals are still ignorant jerks, they just use different words other than communism for the idiocy they advocate today like “progressive”, “global war warning”, “democratic socialism”, or “California”

  12. Kevin Scheunemann

    Meant to say “U.S. academics”.

  13. Paul

Not surprising the white nationalist troll resorts to more lies.

Ah yes, the most important part of any vacation, embarrassing your family to annoy strangers. Precious memories for the Scheunemann clan scrapbook.

  15. Kevin Scheunemann

    Liberals should have tolerance.

They don’t despite flapping about it a long time.

I got to meet some great Brits as well.

They have same disease of liberalism we have, only worse.

  16. Le Roi du Nord

    k:

Pretty harsh language for an alleged christian.  Wash your mouth out and get back on your meds.

  17. Paul

The fossil just shit his pants again.

  18. Kevin Scheunemann

    That was harsh?

    How thin skinned are you?

  19. Paul

Real good example he’s setting for those grandkids. Hopefully they involuntarily commit him to the nursing home soon.

    disease of liberalism

There are several of those.  Some can be treated with penicillin, and hopefully cured before the mental disease kicks in.
