North Dakota Eco-Warriors Leave Environmental Disaster

Every time we see these leftists protest, they leave a mess. Think Occupy movement, Womens’ March, BLM protests, on and on…

Clean-up crews are racing to clear acres of debris at the largest Dakota Access protest camp before the spring thaw turns the snowy, trash-covered plains into an environmental disaster area.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced Friday that the camp, located on federal land, would be closed Feb. 22 in order to “prevent injuries and significant environmental damage in the likely event of flooding in this area” at the mouth of the Cannonball River in North Dakota.

“Without proper remediation, debris, trash, and untreated waste will wash into the Cannonball River and Lake Oahe,” the Corps said in its statement.

Those involved in the clean-up effort, led by the Standing Rock Sioux, say it could take weeks for private sanitation companies and volunteers to clear the expanse of abandoned tents, teepees, sleeping bags, blankets, canned food, supplies and just plain garbage littering the Oceti Sakowin camp.

Don’t forget about the mess that had to be cleaned up on the mall after Trump’s inauguration.

  2. billphoto

?? Wouldn’t flooding add all the garbage and whatever into their sacred environment ??

  3. Kevin Scheunemann

Liberals leave desecration and destruction wherever they are gathered in large herds.

Can’t any of them walk the talk about keeping environment clean?

  4. Le Roi du Nord

“Liberals leave desecration and destruction wherever they are gathered in large herds”.    Classic alternative facts from the master.  He is pulling a conway.

  5. Kevin Scheunemann

Did you see the pictures of mess left behind by the uber liberal women’s march?

I state obvious facts…you wish to make them alternative facts…but that is a function of your ideological blindnes.

  6. Le Roi du Nord

Yes I did, from a family member lives and works in DC and was there that day.  The “mess” that was shown in most of the media outlets wasn’t from the women’s march, but from a different group, mostly male, that were hoping to gain a little publicity.  You can look it up..

“Obvious facts”  Now that is a hoot.  You don’t need to qualify a fact, it either is or isn’t.  But as a renowned purveyor of alternative facts I guess you feel the need.

  7. Jason

Sorry, but your family member is as full of shit as you are. The pictures I have seen are directly attributable to the women’s march. Hope you grow up some day kid.

  8. Le Roi du Nord

If any of you bozoids were there you have a right to comment.  But in this day of alternative facts I’ll put my money on the eye witness.  You reap what you sow.

  9. Kevin Scheunemann

    Nord,

Why is it you environmental nuts will ignore the pictures, plain as day in front of you, when lefties destroy the environment, BUT

will gleefully support the environmental regulatory Nazis over 1 part per billion extra of anything from a sewer plant which is completely insignificant to the watershed, to great cost and punishment for water rate payers for no gain for the environment.

    Why is that?

It’s like how you ignore the poop dumping of MMSD.   Let the guilty go free, but punish the innocent.   Isn’t that the basic credo of liberalism in all things?

That is why Trump got elected.

  10. Le Roi du Nord

Like I said before, in this day of alternative facts I’ll take an eyewitness report over a bogus story/photo any day.

If you want to bring up your faux P problem, you better present some facts as well.  All you are is a feeble echo without some facts.  You have had plenty of time and opportunity to layout the details but have chosen not to.

“Let the guilty go free, but punish the innocent.   Isn’t that the basic credo of liberalism in all things?”.  Nope, not at all.

  11. Jason

    >”All you are is a feeble echo without some facts. You have had plenty of time and opportunity to layout the details but have chosen not to.”

Says the kid with no facts or sources.

  12. Kevin Scheunemann

    Nord,

How come my “eyewitness report” on 2 DOT presentations about how much more costly the Hwy 45 4-lane project became because of one snake is dismissed out of hand?

And your eyewitness is holy and right despite pictures/evidence to the complete contrary?

Methinks you have a hypocritical double standard on proof.

Just curious how you justify that.

  13. Le Roi du Nord

Why, because your account makes no sense in light of the facts on the ground.    And that the folks actually involved in the project don’t seem to agree with your accusations.  If you had at least some credible claims I would never have pursued this issue, but since hyperbole and exaggeration  are your forte you should be used to having facts come back to bite you.

  14. Kevin Scheunemann

    Nord,

The pictures of the mess make your witness testimony false on its face.

I can produce 20 community members to back up DOT presentation about the snake.

You have a stunning hypocrisy when it comes to “proof”.

  15. Le Roi du Nord

OK, get your 20 community members to show on a map where the 3 mile wetland remediation is ??  Make sure you are accurate, as Google map doesn’t abide by liars.  And make sure you understand the terminology..

  16. Kevin Scheunemann

    Nord,

Where do you want to meet?

  17. Le Roi du Nord

Post a copy of the map right here for all to see.   You can even get the updated DNR wetland map to illustrate your contention of the massive wetland remediation.

  18. Kevin Scheunemann

So you don’t want to meet?

Kiwanis members would love to set you straight on this.  I’d love to have you as a guest.

Any 2 year old can google earth the wetlends west of Hwy 45 between Kewaskum and West Bend.   There was massive wetland excavation for the “snake” and also a very expensive box culvert was put in 100 feet south of Badger Rd because of it.

  19. Le Roi du Nord

The big box culvert is 897′ south of Badger Rd.  It was put in to get the creek from one side to the other, and to get the Ice Age Trail under 45.  Even a quick look at the photo would tell you that. If there is a culvert at 100′ as you say it isn’t big enough to show up on an aerial photo.

Explain how this imaginary snake benefits by the culvert.  It had to be placed regardless of the snake (if there really is one), so what are you all wound up about?

If you can’t be more specific about the location of the “massive wetland excavation” it will be hard for anyone to believe you.  Nothing of the sort shows up on the photo so unless you can provide some details it looks like you made that story up.

In truth, I wouldn’t walk across the street to shake the hand of someone so disingenuous and factually challenged as you.

  20. Kevin Scheunemann

So tou are afraid to meet the community members that know what went on?

    Not surprised.

This is why there is distrust of government. For you to be right means we were all lied to.

  21. Le Roi du Nord

I’m not the problem here.  It was your misinterpretation of the project and intentional twisting of facts to suit your agenda.  My meeting with you and yours would prove nothing because you personally are unwilling to learn anything new, but feel better criticizing others that don’t agree with you.

For me to right  doesn’t mean you were lied to, but rather that you have once again come armed with alternative facts created solely to advance your agenda.

  22. Jason

Anyone want to take wagers on whether Roy do Nerd posted theSeptember last two comments with a mirror or a framed school picture of himself on the desk? Jesus more examples of statements that are ambiguous enough to apply to his actions here.

Hey Roy, keep fighting the good fight brother! You’re a holy warrior swimming up streat against an evil blog that does not march lock-step to your manifesto and you’re really convincing the unwashed of us that Owen and others are wrong and your point of view is correct. Ha ha ha.

  23. penquin

“This is why there is distrust of government”

Unless one is employed by the government. In that situation then the conservative mantra is that the gov’t is totally trustable and will never-ever screw their employees over…

  24. Kevin Scheunemann

    Nord,

I knew you were afraid to face the constituents.

    I interact with them.

  25. Le Roi du Nord

You know nothing, and have repeatedly proved that in spades.  Come up with a location of the “snake culvert” and the “massive 3 mile wetland remediation” and we can talk.  Until then you are just blowing smoke.

  26. Kevin Scheunemann

    Nord,

Then you have a golden chance to demonstrate my alleged “knowing nothing” in front of my constituents by my invite.

Worst that can happen is you get free dinner as my guest at Kiwanis.

  27. Kevin Scheunemann

    Nord,

I’ll even give you a personal tour, ahead of time, of the wetland area we are discussing.

  28. Le Roi du Nord

If you can’t find them on a map how can they possibly exist?
