Obama Prioritizes Political Priorities Over Lives

Because his campaign promises are more important than the folks being killed by these former detainees.

Washington (AFP) – US President Barack Obama has vowed to push ahead with plans to close the Guantanamo Bay prison for terror suspects, despite evidence that a substantial number of former detainees have returned to the battlefield.

In an interview with Yahoo News that was published Monday, Obama said the strategic benefits of closing the notorious facility outweighed incidents of recidivism among “low-level” former inmates.

The White House itself admits that around 10 percent of those released from Guantanamo have resumed fighting for Islamic extremist organizations, but says it is more important to shutter a facility that has become a recruiting tool for militants.

What a load of bull. Does anyone seriously think that “GITMO!” is the rallying cry of the violent Islamist movement?

    Gitmo is our Andersonville

A National shame perpetrated by so called Patriots holding and torturing prisoners without trial

Sorry, Mark, wrong as usual, like most liberals.
Gitmo holds the most dangerous war criminals.
Show me where real torture has taken place at Gitmo, and I mean real torture.
    Some people have had trials.
But we don’t have to have trials to enemy combatants. Do you think we gave every POW from Germany a trial?
How about Japan, both in WW2.
How about soldiers from North Vietnam in the Vietnam War?
How many U.S. POWs got trials when captured during the War on terror?
Just admit you are wrong, Mark, and if you do, your life will be much better by not having to repeat liberal talking points that are not well thought out.

    After “like most liberal’s ” , I lost consciousness .

    ” real torture ?”

We compare ourselves now to the Japanese and North Vietnamese on the torture scale to validate ourselves ?

Where is all this conservative talk about American Exceptionism and American virtues when it comes to torture ?

If we want to spread American values, it starts with our treatment of prisoners .

If you have a different spin on how torture is really who we are ,then I’ll have the rest of my Commie commune wake me up ! :)
