Two Attackers Shot at Mohammed Art Event

Scary.

(CNN)Two men who opened fire outside a contest for Prophet Mohammad cartoons in a Dallas suburb were shot dead by police Sunday night, authorities said.

The men began shooting at a security officer as the “Muhammad Art Exhibit and Cartoon Contest” at the Culwell Event Center in North Garland was coming to an end, the city’s Facebook page said.

The security guard was shot in the leg and taken to a local hospital. His condition is unknown.

FBI and local officials were checking on the gunmen’s vehicle for explosives, a law enforcement official told CNN. The area around the center was blocked off.

My guess is Muslims trying to shoot the infidels dead.

Police did an excellent thing here shooting evil dead.

Time to erect another thank you billboard for defending citizens!

    Good job!

Wow! Owen posts it and you cheer. Can you bury your lips any further in his crack? Talk about poking the bear. Muslims are very sensitive to cartoon depictions of the Prophet Mohammed. Holding an art show dedicated to these characterizations could only draw a negative response. Were the organizer intentionally trying to solicit a response? They had to know one would come. I get it… Their art show is covered under the first amendment. What if Muslims held a art festival in Texas depicting Jesus in a negative fashion. Would they get a negative possibly violent response? Obviously these gunmen are fanatics but should we be provoking them. Kevin you can talk about billboards all up you want but it’s clear the only one getting erect from all this killing is you.

Negative response, yes. Possibly violent response, no. Thanks for asking, glad to help you.

    T of B,
Glad to see your crystal ball is working as programmed.. Wait that’s your brain. Of course, how could I forget, fanatical Christians are incapable of violence in the name of Jesus. The organizer of this event is a bigot. Anyone condoning this crazy bitches actions or attending her events in support of her cause is also nuts and deserving of the title bigot. Wait for it, wait for it… Kevin will soon pipe in with the typical liberal labeling B.S., defend Christian violence in the name of good and… Oh, he already talked about putting up a billboard.

    Jade,

Islam as a false religion that calls for violence for this type of free speech in its sacred texts.

There is no such command in the bible. Defaming Jesus can be a sin, if unrepentant until death that will get you thrown into hell, but a Christian will want them to repent first, so there is an opposite reaction by the Christian to defaming Jesus compared to Islamic evil.

Since This Islamic evil was SHOOTING people, and ISIS has taken responsibility, these officers are now frontline military because Obama has allowed evil to flourish with his bad foreign policy.

Jade, are you saying we cannot, as matter of free speech make fun of a false prophet?

Liberals make fun of Christians and Jesus all the time, when will liberals be as “sensitive” to that?

…liberals are not sensitive because Chistians do not kill over that, because Chistians teach love and grace, not murder to those who don’t believe

I suppose you’ll tell me you’ve read the Koran (Quron). Did you read what I said? I didn’t make excuses for there actions. The nut job lady who continually instigates Muslims should also bare some responsibility but she won’t. Your intolerance to other religions is now obvious. Again your going way off topic and bringing many other issues in to play to cloud the topic at hand. I understand your passion but nobody seems to be able to express an opinion without you condemning it. Free speech works both ways. Make fun of who you want but expect a reaction. The authorities expected a reaction that’s why S.W.A.T. was already on site prior to the shooting. Screaming fire (when no fire exists) in a crowded theater has long been an example of free speech that crosses the line. The panic and injury that can result will land the screamer in jail or at least charged. There is a limit to that right and I will try to find the case law to prove it. I can give many historically documented examples of a Christians killing in the name of Christ contrary to what you state. Just because I acknowledge this and in anticipation to your response this does not make me a liberal, non-Christian or a supporter of evil. It shows my ability to rationally evaluate all of the information and form an opinion that may differ from yours. Oh and by the way… You were right on queue.

    Kevin,
Isis would claim responsibility for any evil act against America. Since they have claimed it now they can own it. We should, as I’ve always thought, aggressively seek and destroy this terrorist group. That shouldn’t revoke our nations stance on the freedom of religion. Law abiding Muslims are just as entitled to the American dream as all others. Especially those that have been active positive participants in our society. Labeling Islam as a false religion is an opinion I don’t share. It’s not the religion I practice but they are entitled to there right to practice free from persecution. This type of labeling and intolerance is what you were accusing me of. Maybe I should accuses you of being the liberal. Aren’t liberals renowned for being the champions of free speech. I guess my position about this nut job anti-Muslim art organizer would relieve me of your continuous label as a liberal. Maybe my position about aggressively destroying Isis would also help. The funny thing is I am amused by your effort to put me in that corner. So much for my ability to express my opinions or to raise questions without having a label applied. One more note… As a private citizen I don’t have the ability to limit free speech. The First Amendment only applies to government action.

    Jade,

I haven’t read the entire Koran, but watched a former Muslim, now a disciple for Jesus, give an excellent 2 hour lecture on the parts of the Koran (and other sacred Islamic texts) that call for killing of all non-Muslims. He also reviewed the Muslim “prophet’s” child molestations and criminal life.

He gave this lecture at risk of his own death. His family has called for his execution.

Islam is not a religion of peace. The committed Muslim believes the same thing as ISIS when it comes to this.

If they don’t, believe what ISIS believes, they are either:

1.) Ignorant of their Muslim faith.

    OR

2.) Lying about their Muslim faith.

This is a point Christians need to wake up to. Muslims, are not at all warm and fuzzy when it comes to grace and love if they truly believe, and follow, their religion. If they are serious about grace and love to non-Muslims, they are not true Muslims. They are Muslim in name only.

If you fail, as a Christian, to label Islam as a false religion, you are not a true Christian.

True Christians only view Jesus the the way, the truth, and the life. If you embrace another way to heaven it is false teaching and you reject Christ.

  9. Jadedly Unbiased

It’s really not for me to decide for others. I can, as you do, point people in the direction of Christ but I can’t force them to accept. It would be unrealistic, in a world of so many religions, to reject all others because of their faith. What other religions do you consider false? I’m assuming all but Christianity. Do you think our Constitution only applies to Christians? I still think poking the bear is a bad idea.

The lecture sounds like it was very interesting. If he ever gives another lecture please let me know.

  10. Kevin scheunemann

Usana Dakdok is his name. He completely blows away, in 2 hours the false concept of moderate Muslims. If they are moderate, they are either ignorant of their religion or lying about their religion until Sharia law is near (even points out passages where Muslim should use lying and deception to deceive infidel about jihad. Jihad meaning the killing of those that refuse to convert to Islam.)

He should have his lecture posted somewhere. He is a passionate disciple of Jesus now and eloquently points out corresponding bible passages on how Christianity is vastly different.

After his lecture you truly realize how hopeless a Muslim existence really is. And how hopeful a life in Christ is by comparison to a Muslim.

All other religions, other than evangelical Christianity, teach one can earn their way to heaven (or whatever name the false religions have for it.) through good works or by being a good person. Only evangelical Christianity teaches the grace and redemption of Jesus gets you to heaven. You can only reject Jesus.

Rejecting Jesus includes embracing other ways to heaven, false teaching and prophets. If you fail to warn others about false religions, when given opportunity, or worse, imply these other religions are just as valid, are you closer in your relationship to Jesus or further away?

If you deny to others that you know him as the truth and the life, will Jesus do the same when you meet him, deny knowing you?

Embracing false religions as a Christian can put your eternal soul in peril.

Not everyone will listen and they may reject what you say. However, it is better they reject you for speaking the truth than embracing you for speaking against the truth.

So no true Christian should be out there saying Islam can be the truth because it’s not. That makes you a Christian in name only. Like those Muslims in name only.

  11. Jadedly Unbiased

I don’t embrace any other religion nor did I say Islam is the truth so I should be okay. I respect your never ending quest to spread the word but as I’ve said many times I’m happy with my spirituality. Really, I don’t need any help in this area. Thank you anyway. I am a faithful Christian.

The reality is other people believe in other religions. They may believe their religion is valid and according to the U.S. Constitution they have that right. We can’t ignore the fact other people of differing religions share this world with us. That’s not validating their religion or embracing it. It’s reality.

  12. Kevin Scheunemann

People do have right to believe what they want to believe.

However, as Christians, we should never be shy, if given opportunity, to correct the false religions openly and speak the truth. This is especially true if your fellow Christians think there is another path besides Jesus. If you do that boldly, great.

Some liberals consider this position “insensitive”, just like this event. That is the real danger to our fee speech and that is what concrns me about the liberal positions I’m hearing in press that these free speech practitioners “asked for it”.

  13. Jadedly Unbiased

Not all Christians are Evangelicals. This doesn’t limit their relationship with God. Some Christians practice in a more private manner. That doesn’t diminish their commitment to Christ.

The nutty lady that organized this event has a long history of poking the bear. I will defend her right to free speech. When her behavior is a continued effort it incite a reaction, as she stated many times was her intention, there in lies the problem.

What was the redeeming social importance of the exhibit?

Would the average person, applying contemporary community standards, believe the theme of the material, taken as a whole, had appeal to the majorities interests?

Considering these questions, her past history, the hateful rhetoric, the incite full nature of her efforts and I certainly don’t want that in my community. If you do, invite her to have an art exhibit in your village.

  14. Kevin Scheunemann

What was the redeeming social importance of the exhibit?

THIS SHOULD NOT MATTER ANYMORE, GIVEN WHAT LIBERALS HAVE DONE TO SACRED CHRISTIAN CONVICTIONS. WE ARE A SOCIETY THAT ALLOWS PEOPLE TO OFFEND OTHERS. LIBERALS ALWAYS TAKE IT TO THE FAR EXTREME WITH CHRISTIANS. I’M CONCERNED; BECAUSE THAT STANDARD IS NOT IN PLAY SIMPLY BECAUSE MUSLIMS KILL OVER THE OFFENSE, CHRISTIANS DON’T. IF WE ARE GOING TO FUND A NATIONAL ENDOWMENT FOR THE ARTS TO SOAK AN IMAGE IN CHRIST IN URINE AND CALL IT ART, SHOULDN’T WE AT LEAST BE WILING TO DEFEND PRIVATELY FUNDED SPEECH AT A PRIVATE EVENT?

Would the average person, applying contemporary community standards, believe the theme of the material, taken as a whole, had appeal to the majorities interests?

    IT APPEALS TO MANY NON-MUSLIMS.

BAD TASTE, IF INDEED IT IS BAD TASTE, IS NOT A STANDARD FOR WHETHER SPEECH SHOULD BE FREE OR NOT.

BY THIS STANDARD, I’D COULD MAKE AN ARGUMENT TO ELIMINATE ALL LIBERAL SPEECH. OUR GOVERNMENT DOES NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO “CONTENT REVIEW” POLITICAL SPEECH. THE GOVERNMENT ROLE HERE IS TO KEEP EVIL FROM SHOOTING PEOPLE.

SO WE CANNOT COMMENT AT ALL ON SOMEONE WHO MARRIED A CHILD AND HAD SEXUAL RELATIONS WITH A 9 YEAR OLD? THAT IS VERBOTEN BECAUSE ITS INCINDIARY?

THE FACT THAT AN ENTIRE RELIGION HINGES ON SOMEONE WHO WE WOULD CONSIDER A CHILD MOLESTOR, IS COMMENTARY THAT NEEDS TO BE SPOKEN EARLY AND OFTEN.

  15. Kevin Scheunemann

If someone is preaching a gospel other than evangelical—Christ crucified for our sins and salvation, Christ as the only redeemer—thye are acting contrary to the gospel.

    2 Corinthians 11:4

    Galations 1:8

    Galations 1:9

The warning about this in Galations is so pronounced it is literally done back to back and and more sternly warned the second time.

So if you have any branch of Christianity teaching more than Jesus as redeemer, like redeeming yourself through good works, or by being a good person, we can only pray that “Christian” sees through the false doctrine.

  16. Jadedly Unbiased

You blamed liberals again, claimed Christians don’t kill and talked about sponsoring art but you DIDN’T answer the question.

What was the redeeming social importance of the exhibit?

It doesn’t appeal to non-Muslims it appeals to anti-Muslims. Our government does, according to the U.S. Supreme Court, have the right to “content review” all speech. Is it actionable is the question. If it’s incite full then it could possibly be actionable. I have said probably not in this instance but considering her anti-Muslim history, her hateful bigotry against Muslims and the incite full nature of the exhibit I’m sure government prosecutors (Republicans and Democrats) are taking a closer look at her.

In 2011 there were 157 violent hate crimes against Muslims. Some of those crimes were carried out in the name of Jesus. As a Christian I can not condone such behavior. If a Christian reads the Quran it’s easy to find the”109 verses” that support violence. If a Muslim reads the Bible it’s easy to find: 1 Samuel 13.14, Psalm 109:8-10, Genesis (or at least Exodus) to Revelation. Now convince that Muslim we worship a God of love and peace. We as Christian know that to be true but hard for the Muslim.

Our lord said ” blessed are the peacemakers”. He did not qualify that with the adjective “Christian”. We must oppose the bearing of false witness against our neighbors and against those we style as our enemies. Anyone extending an olive branch to end the killing, whether Jewish, Hindu, Buddhist, Muslim or Christian, we accepted. There are peaceful members of all religions. The generalization or stereotyping of people who belong to other religions based on the actions of the few is wrong. Fanaticism exists in all religions.

  17. Jadedly Unbiased

Oh and by the way… This exhibit was open to the public and was held on public property. It WAS NOT private.

  18. Kevin Scheunemann

If it was public property, great! Free speech should have even more protection there.

    Jade,

Seriously, do you want to come to a bible study on Psalm 109? Our church just had one. If you understand the correct context of Psalm 109 when David being on the run from his enemies who are clearly aken over by the devil (King Saul), and who’s heart is hardened and has rejected God…but you have passed on the invitation before.

Even if we take Psalm 109 and 1 Samuel in the incorrect context you suggest, evangelical Christians who study the bible understand that Old Testament ceremonial law and traditions have been replaced by te New testament covenants of grace and forgiveness through Christ. I am constantly amazed by christians that fail to undrstand this.

Since the Koran is not a divinely inspired book, it is a call for violence. There is no way around it. If a Muslim says its not a call for violence against non-muslims, that is also in the Koran, to use deception and lies to trick your enemy (non-muslims).

Watch it straight from a Muslim himself, the Usana Dakdok lectures on this. It is eye opening. I am completely humbled next to his faith in Jesus.

  19. Kevin Scheunemann

    Jade,

I also didn’t know that “social redeeming” quality was needed for it to be valid free speech.

If it is, I’d like to get rid of the art of Christ soaked in urine, that has less social redeeming quality than anything at this festival. Those who support that art are anti-Christian, and it does not appeal to non-Christians.

Where was the liberal outrage to delete that from the cutural landscape?

The liberal gutter trash standard has been set society. If liberals are going to urinate all over Christians and their faith, and that is protected and sacred speech to liberalism, why can’t liberals urinate all over the Muslim faith too?

  20. Jadedly Unbiased

You are an absolute fool. ANSWER the question or shut up. Everyone I talk to about your position ( my pastor included ) says you are extreme.

  21. Jadedly Unbiased

I can’t stand by and listen to any more of your bullshit. You have insulted me, questioned my faith and labeled me. You are a condescending jerk. You are not a Christian. You are a judgmental pig. God will not forgive you for the words you speak.

  22. Jadedly Unbiased

The difference between me and you is I wave my flag wide and high, you hide behind yours.

  23. Kevin scheunemann

    Jade,

So your pastor is alright with image of Christ soaked in urine at taxpayer expense, but not discussing and exposing, openly, without threat of violence, the false prophet and known child molestor?

    Who is your pastor?

  24. Jadedly Unbiased

My pastor thinks you should seek a mental health professional.

  25. Kevin Scheunemann

    Jade,

Great. Is your pastor taking appointments?

  26. Jadedly Unbiased

After reading your posts I don’t think he will be interested but I will ask him at service tomorrow night. Can I help you with anything else?
