Hamilton Protesters Move to Chicago

At least Milwaukee was protest free for a day. Unfortunately, another baby was killed by thugs firing into a house. I doubt there will be protests against the thugs.

CHICAGO (AP) — The Rev. Jesse Jackson on Saturday told relatives and supporters of a Milwaukee man killed by a city police officer that he will continue to draw attention to the case and what he and other critics say is a pattern of injustice.

“We cannot stand by and let this happen without saying something,” the civil rights leader told a crowd of about 200 people during a rally at his Rainbow PUSH Coalition Headquarters in Chicago.

For the Hamilton protesters, I ask this with all sincerity… what do you want? It is truly tragic that a mentally ill man was killed in a violent confrontation. The evidence is clear that Hamilton armed himself with the officer’s baton and was in the process of beating him when the officer shot Hamilton in justified self-defense. To demand that the officer be prosecuted would be an injustice. If the protesters want more sensitivity for mentally ill people or training, they are already getting that. What else? Do they just want money? Is that what this is all about?

For the life of me, I don’t know what they want anymore. Although it took far too long, a thorough investigation was done and the facts tell us that, while tragic, Hamilton lost his life as a consequence of his violent attack of a police officer. No amount of protesting will change those facts.

The protestors clearly want more black on black crime. The only articulate thing that is coming from the leaders is that they want it so difficult for police officers to do their job, the criminals will end up running the streets as the bureaucratic result of their demands.

That kind of impossible police standard, which protestors want, will result in a lot more black on black crime with many more victims. Officers will be a lot more hesitent to get involved in any particular incident.

Don’t forget free Bucks tickets. They were at their most violent at the Bradley Center.
