Obama Skips Intelligence Briefings

No wonder he finds out about what’s going on in the world by watching the news.

A new Government Accountability Institute (GAI)report reveals that President Barack Obama has attended only 42.1% of his daily intelligence briefings (known officially as the Presidential Daily Brief, or PDB) in the 2,079 days of his presidency through September 29, 2014.

The GAI report also included a breakdown of Obama’s PDB attendance record between terms; he attended 42.4% of his PDBs in his first term and 41.3% in his second.

The GAI’s alarming findings come on the heels of Obama’s 60 Minutes comments on Sunday, wherein the president laid the blame for the Islamic State’s (ISIS) rapid rise squarely at the feet of his Director of National Intelligence James Clapper.

So Obama’s foreign policy cluelessness is purposeful and deliberate.

I was hoping it was just because the job was over his head.

    Scott,

If the Washington Post’s claim that Obama reads his briefing everyday, then that means Obama has been lying about ISIS catching his administration by surprise.

Curious the Post does not give the president 4 pinoocchios.

It’s not that Obama doesn’t receive the briefing, it’s that he avoids receiving it in person because said person could then testify to what was said. By receiving it solely in writing he retains the plausible deniability to throw anyone under the bus as needed.

Once is happenstance. Twice is coincidence. Three times is enemy action. We’ve seen the third time about as often as a 50 year old woman celebrates her 29th birthday.
