Baraboo School Board’s Ridiculous Reaction

I got to this part of the story and just rolled my eyes.

“That this adult felt emboldened to behave in this way in front of hundreds of students and other adults should deeply trouble us all; this type of behavior will not be tolerated,” the school board said, adding that it “condemns such actions and asks the community to take a stand and speak out against this type of behavior that threatens the fabric of our democracy.”

The story is that a dad went up on stage during graduation and pushed the superintendent because the dad didn’t want the superintendent to shake his daughter’s hand. The dad’s behavior is completely inappropriate. He’s been appropriately charged with disorderly conduct.

To extrapolate this dad’s idiotic, isolated, behavior as something that “threatens the fabric of our democracy” that requires that the “community take a stand” is absolutely idiotic. Get over yourselves, Baraboo School Board. This is one guy and he’s been dealt with. His behavior is not indicative of anything other than he’s a dolt. And I’m willing to bet that the Baraboo School Board is not the paragon of democracy.

He appears to have been charged appropriately. Where did he learn this behavior though?

How does the school treat student protests and walkouts? Do they teach that civil disobedience actually expects consequences for unlawful actions but shows people are willing to risk these consequences to expose injustice? or do they support the students actions? Whether BLM, anti-gun, or pro Palestinian, these types of mob actions really do threaten democracy.

Guessing there is a lot more to this story….

A [school board] $10,000 contract with Meraki Consulting, the Briggs-owned firm that specializes in equity, student services and professional development in education, lasted from May 15, 2021 to June 30, 2021. It served as a separate contract to the one with former superintendent Lori Mueller, whose contract ended on June 30, 2021.

Well, waddya know. NBC left a few things out.

Like the school board playing payoff palooza with fellow admins, new and former. $10 Gs for a few days of lefty preaching to the choir just before starting his new job.

Like not mentioning that the guy’s daughter had been previously suspended – for reasons unrevealed at this time – and that Briggs claimed to have no knowledge of it because he ”doesn’t deal directly with parents.

… this type of behavior that threatens the fabric of our democracy.

Lefties gotta hyperbolize. It’s their nature.
