Who Shot Ashli Babbitt?

The veil of secrecy is thick for reasons that nobody is willing to explain.

Bartiromo asked Trump who he thought shot her.

“I will tell you they know who shot Ashli Babbitt. They’re protecting that person,” he replied. “I’ve heard also that it was the head of security for a certain high official — a Democrat — and we’ll see, because it’s going to come out. It’s going to come out.”

[…]

That is false, according to a senior law enforcement official briefed on the matter.

The official said the officer who shot Babbitt, 35, was not a member of a security detail provided to a specific member of Congress, adding that the officer has not yet returned to duty.

I reordered the linked story to make it make more sense. Here’s what happened… Trump, when asked about Babbitt, made the allegedly false claim about who did it (without naming a name). An anonymous law enforcement officer (again no name) claims that Trump is wrong, but still does not say who did it (still no name).

How insane is it that we are five months removed from the killing and we still do not know who did it? In what other circumstance would we allow this to be concealed? When an officer shoots anyone in the country – justified or not – we know the officer’s name within hours. Why are we allowing them to keep the name secret in this case? Why are we allowing them to cover up this killing? Why isn’t there an inquiry or a trial to get to the bottom of whether or not the killing was justified?

Trump is correct that they know who killed Babbitt. Trump is also correct that the shooter is being protected.

Linking the shooter to a high profile Democrat lawmaker is solid logic until proven otherwise simply because of the number of federal alphabet agencies involved in the stonewalling. It takes a lot of juice to keep such a high profile event this leak-free for this long. Someone or something of such high perceived value generates no media curiosity? The crickets alone tell part of the story.

Had the shooter been connected whatsoever to any shade of Republican he/she would have been crucified long ago and the media frenzy would have been epic.

His name is Michael L. Byrd.

Lt. Michael L. Byrd, commander of the House Chamber Section of the Capitol Police, who as been paid leave since he shot Babbitt. The same jackass who left his .40 caliber Glock-22 in a bathroom back in February 2019. The same jackass who bragged he would not be disciplined for it because he was a Lt. A Glock-22 was used to shoot Babbitt.

Several photos identify his gaudy jewelry and the suit he was wearing that day, and match that seen in the video of moment the shot was fired.

And he was actually named by acting House sergeant at arms Timothy Blodgett in House testimony on Feb 25. And even though the “Official Transcript” has erased Blodgett’s statement you can see it here, before it is pulled, at about the 39:15 mark: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qhSwMrkpXd0&t=2389s

Of course, Lying Le Roi supports this killing but refuses to answer the basic questions, like why no one was shit, no other police officers fired their gun, what immediate specific life threatening action did unarmed Ashlie pose?
Why couldnt she just be arrested, or tased?
So, come Le Roi,answer these questions.

  4. Mar

Oh, and 1 more question, why did the cop shoot just her. There were others who acted much worse than Ashlie. Why didn’t shoot them.
Come on, big boy, Le Roi, answer those questions.
No redirects. Just answer the questions I posed.

Patsykins, the appropriate charge here was murder, not ‘deprivation of civil rights.’

    Nice try.

DoJ also could not find evidence sufficient to try Byrd on robbery, rape, or car theft by examining the videotapes of 1/6.

Not sure what you are getting at Pat.
Are you saying that federal cops don’t have to meet the same standards as the cops on the beat everywhere else?
Or are you saying that they are Feds and they don’t give a crap about transparency and screw those who ask for transparency.
    Which one?

  7. Le Roi du Nord

“like why no one was shit” . Well, there is you, mar.

  8. Mar

And Pervert Boy refuses to answer the questions and posts something completely irrelevant.
Typical uneducated fake UW Stevens Point University graduate Le Roi response.
Go back training for Special Olympics. Maybe one day you might make their team.

  9. Mar

Le Roi, do you enjoy being a coward?

  10. MjM

Oh, don’t worry, Patsy. It will all come out in discovery under the two lawsuits filed by the Babbitt family’s lawyer. And in the FOIA suit filed by Judicial Watch.

See, while the Capitol police are not legally bound to transparency and FOIA, the DOJ used DC’s Metro Police Dept to run the investigation. And both the DOJ and MPD are.

Those of you who have been following this story have probably already seen this picture of Ashli Babbitt’s murderer. It been out there for months:

    https://thewashingtoncountyauditor.com/trump-supporter-charlie-kirk-reveals-lt-michael-byrd-as-shooter-of-ashli-babbitt-in-a-tv-first-video/

That particular version – why I picked it – is enhanced with a red circle that highlights just what incredible jackass Lt. Byrd really is. Those of you familiar with firearms know what I’m referring to: the third rule of gun safety.

What seals Byrd’s jackassery is the fact that his Glock-22 has no external safety. For the uninitiated, that means the gun will fire any time the trigger is pulled. While most manufactures employ external / manual safeties that lock the trigger most Glocks have internal safeties which only prevents the gun from firing if dropped/bumped.

So here you have a supposedly highly trained police official, a police commander, with his finger *on a live trigger* of a .40 caliber pistol with a box/bundle of crap tucked in his other arm wobbling about in a chaotic atmosphere.

Its called “willful disregard” and It’s a wonder he didn’t shoot any one else, including his own officers. He should have been kicked out of the Capitol for that alone.

But at least he knows this important stuff, like being a snappy dresser.

  12. Le Roi du Nord

That is a pretty simplistic description of the three components comprising the Glock 22 safety mechanism.

  13. Jason

    >That is a pretty simplistic description of the three components comprising the Glock 22 safety mechanism.

And yet shockingly accurate at the same time – especially when you in the photo that the killer has his finger on the trigger. Unless you have some dispute with what was said? I thought not, Loser roi.

  14. Mar

And another irrelevant post by Coward Le Roi and still refuses to answer basic questions. Come on man, don’t be a coward.

  15. dad29

It’s simplistic so that YOU can understand it, LeeeeeeeeeeeeRoy.

On another topic, you’re not willing to bet your truck on the Great Election Fraud, LeeeeeeeeeeeeRoy?? Was it the Arizona or Georgia discovery, or your knowledge that Wisconsin was also seriously compromised?

    Hmmmm?

MjM: Not as easy to see, but Lynch also muzzled his own people before committing murder.

  16. Mar

Lying Le Roi says the Ashli Babbitt shooting wasn’t murder but refuses to back it up. Refuses to answer very simple questions.
But that’s what liberals do. Put out a statement and refuses to back it up.
Liberals are very good at that, facts mean nothing them.
Le Roi is your typical liberal: put out lies and hope sheeple believe them. Unfortunately for Le Roi, no one hear is falling for his lies.

I don’t know, it seems pretty cut and dried to me. Ashli Babbitt was part of a riot not sanctioned, supported, funded and protected by the Democratic (or any other) Party. It isn’t a bit surprising that when the highly placed Government official is protecting the cop, the cop walks. When they protect the protestor, the protestor walks. Police know who pays their salaries. The high up Democratic Party members understand they are above the law and use it accordingly.

Republican officials were stupid enough to believe that the ‘riot rules’ being used the entire election year that basically protected rioters and crucified the smallest police infractions were for everyone. That it was just the prevailing conditions for riots, in general. It’s like they didn’t understand that riots are trumped up every major election year, and have been funded and protected locally by the Democratic Party to get Democrats votes. That sort of control costs money and requires organization. Apparently the Republican Party hasn’t seen the connection.

Nazi Nort looks down his long snout: “That is a pretty simplistic description…”

Kee-riste, numbnutz. If your nose was any further up in air the you’d be snorting moon dust,
