Wisconsin Elections Commission Fails Again

It’s possible that the WEC is the most dysfunctional government agency in the state. The Democrats’ behavior here is despicable.

The state elections commission will not investigate county clerks in Milwaukee and Dane counties for encouraging absentee voters staying home due to the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak to use an indefinitely confined provision to avoid the state’s photo ID requirement.

In a Sunday meeting, the Wisconsin Elections Commission — which consists of three Democrats and three Republicans — was deadlocked on motions that would have tabled investigations into the two clerks, while warning them their use of indefinite confinement violated state elections laws. Motions by Democratic members to do away with the proposed investigations entirely also failed along party line votes. With all votes split 3-3, none of the motions passed.

Democrats always act in worst possible way to ignore election law.

    Awful. Just awful.

Democrats are not operating on the principle of free and fair elections, they are operating on the principle of win at any price. This is a plain violation of the law, and since the election commission doesn’t want to investigate perhaps a DA should open a John Doe investigation on the commissioners.

As of late last week if a Milwaukee resident requested an absentee ballot online they still had to furnish a copy of an approved ID, claiming indefinitely confined or not.

What DA?  The DemocRAT DAs of Milwaukee and Dane County?  The DemocRAT activist AG?

The state elections officials, mostly at the behest of the DPW (wholly-owned subsidiary of WEAC), have been behaving badly since the 1990s.

Which communities within Dane and Milwaukee counties are waiving the photo ID requirement to obtain an absentee ballot?

Oak Creek is not encouraging that.
