Foxconn to Partner with Johnson Controls for Smart Buildings

Cool!

MILWAUKEE — Johnson Controls will collaborate with Foxconn to transform building data analytics through artificial intelligence and machine learning to advance smart building and smart-city technologies and achieve comfort, security and sustainability goals, according to a Wednesday announcement.

As part of the global technology strategic partnership, Johnsons Controls will become the preferred provider of building management products and solutions at Foxconn’s planned manufacturing facilities in Mt. Pleasant and potentially extend to Foxconn’s global footprint. The buildings will incorporate smart, safe, and sustainable technologies provided by Johnson Controls and enhanced by Fii’s industrial AI and Smart manufacturing technologies.

“We look forward to this collaboration with JohnsonControls, a global leader in building technology, to apply their expertise to leverage our expertise in Artificial Intelligence to further advance into

the next generation of smart technology solutions,” said Brand Cheng, Fii CEO.

The smart buildings and cities of the future will rely on buildings with a highly predictive network of integrated data analytics and artificial intelligence applications, combining building data with external data such as utility pricing, energy storage use, social media tracking and weather data to help consumers manage their home environment, home security, lighting and a host of other in-home functions.

Scott Walkers’s policies of propserity just keeps on giving.

  2. Merlin

That evil Foxconn is at it yet again.

  3. Le Roi du Nord

This decision had nothing to do with walkers “policies of propserity”.  It has more to do with good business decisions like saving energy, smart management of facilities, and sustainability.  walker didn’t believe in any of the above, and proved it on numerous occasions.  You can look it up.

  4. Kevin Scheunemann

    Oh Nord,

None of this happens if Walker does not stare down the liberal beasts standing in way of Foxconn every step of the way.

Many libs are still cheering for Foxconn to fail.

  5. Le Roi du Nord

Oh k, how silly of you to make such a untruthful comment.

You know as well as I do that walker controlled the governors office and both houses of the legislature when foxconn was funded.  There were no “liberal beasts” standing in anybody’s way.  Or have you already forgotten that?

And you would be hard pressed to find “Many libs are still cheering for Foxconn to fail”.  The state has too much taxpayer money stuck in the project for anyone of any party to wish it to fail.  I know I certainly don’t want it to fail.  I just hope they live up to the promises made, but so far they haven’t.  Time will tell.

    Find something recent and relevant.

  7. Kevin Scheunemann

    Nord,

So we need to bury the calls for destruction of Foxconn deal at the liberal cult gathering a mere 14 months later?

    Wow.

    Re-write history much?

Are you not “woke” enough to understand you are isolating these poor protestors?

  8. Le Roi du Nord

Well it isn’t 14 months ago anymore.  It is now.  I didn’t re-write history, nor did I try, but you have consistently misrepresented it.

I’ll leave the usage of “woke” to you.  It isn’t in my lexicon.

  9. Jason

Looks like Leroy’s fake grandkids won’t be paying for this like he lied about. Poor bullishitter Leroy is 0 forever on his dumb predictions.

  10. Le Roi du Nord

    j:

Grand kids are real, unlike your intelligence.

  11. Jason

Oh wow, you really proved me wrong on that one, troll boy.

  12. Kevin Scheunemann

    Nord,

Ignoring the “anything goes” to stop Foxconn protest from June 2018???

    Talk about ignoring facts.

This is very bad for your “woke” credentials. You might not be welcome at liberal cult meetings anymore.

There might be hope for you yet.

  13. jjf

Oh lordy.  You think people wanting “Foxconn to fail” will make Foxconn fail?  Do you even hear yourselves?

You’re saying that government interference in the marketplace succeeds if we just wish hard enough, like reviving Tinkerbell.

Come on, conservatives who think they know-all about Bidness.  Do you think Walker & Co. did their due diligence on this deal?  The napkin sketch was all you needed, and now you’re going to keep wishing that Tinkerbell will live?

  14. Kevin Scheunemann

    jjf,

No one said the anti-prosperity liberals were effective.

This got brought up because Nord denies the fact these anti-prosperity cult liberals exist.

There is, indeed, a big liberal cheering section, hoping that Foxconn fails.

  15. jjf

Those nasty liberals!  One minute they’re ineffectual and weak and misguided, the next they’re all-powerful and their mere thoughts can take down entire foreign corporations!

  16. Kevin Scheunemann

    jjf,

Vilgilance against these enemies of a free society is the key.

  17. jjf

Tell it to the taxpayers around the Foxconn plant.  Or the former taxpayers whose properties were handed over to the foreign corporation.

  18. Kevin Scheunemann

    Jjf,

    They were paid market price.

They had a chance to sue if they felt they were being screwed by less than market price.

Many got way more than market.

So your farce assertion does not carry water.

  19. jjf

Forcing someone to surrender their property…

Golly, that would be like the government taking away your guns but paying you a fair market price for them.  You can’t put a price on sentimentality.  They won’t care if it’s grandpa’s old shotgun – that’ll be $50.  You can sue if you don’t like it.  Due process and all.

  20. Kevin Scheunemann

    jjf,

Under eminent domain, everyone receives an offer.   If they like it, they can take offer.   If they do not like it, they can use court to challenge the offer.

    You have choices.

No one holding out helps anyone.   That is why many got MORE than fair market value.

  21. Le Roi du Nord

    “You have choices”.

Correct only to a limited degree.  If you didn’t want to sell you were forced to against your will.  Sure you may have received more than FMV, but if you didn’t want to sell you had no choice.

Are you intentionally dishonest, or truly don’t understand what happened?

  22. jjf

Kevin didn’t want to consider the case where someone doesn’t want to sell the old family homestead or the dream home they just built.

  23. Mar

jjf and Uneducated Le Roi, are you against eminent domain?

  24. Kevin Scheunemann

    jjf, Nord,

I have long supported not using  eminent domain for private use.   I have long railed against USSC Kelo.

However, we have failed to overturn Kelo in WI with a constitutional amendment prohibiting eminent domain for private use.

Since we collectively decided to not put that prohibition in and the state legislature has now done Foxconn project, we are left to support the prosperous project.

If you 2 want to circulate a petition prohibiting eminent domain for private use going forward…I will sign it.

    So settle down.

  25. Le Roi du Nord

    marbles:

    Yes.

    k:

I’m glad you feel that way, but you sure have a funny way of expressing yourself, with an untruthful claim, “You have choices”, when they really didn’t.  Being dishonest doesn’t help your credibility.

And to date foxconn hasn’t been “prosperous in WI, but has spent a lot of taxpayer $$ and missed fulfilling a lot of promises.

  26. Kevin Scheunemann

    Nord,

Even in Eminent Domain you have a choice to derail the process.   Kelo did it for almost a decade.

No project wants that kind of headache…so yes, even in Eminent domain there is a choice.

  27. Le Roi du Nord

No, in the end you don’t have a choice if you don’t want to sell.  Why be so dishonest?

  28. Kevin Scheunemann

    Nord,

Oh please, when you get more than full market value…you are being made more than whole.

Many got more than full market.

  29. Le Roi du Nord

Money isn’t always the issue.  It may be for you, but surely not for everyone.  Those folks had no choice if they didn’t want to sell.

  30. Kevin Scheunemann

    Nord,

That can be said for any highway expansion, land taken for streetcar, etc.

  31. Le Roi du Nord

No it can’t.  Those are public entities, not private.  foxconn is private.
