Evers’ BS

Yes… concerns about constitutional rights enshrined in the 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th Amendments are just “BS.” I see that Governor Evers has the Leftist’s usual concern for civil liberties.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Democratic Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers says Republican concerns over a pair of gun control bills he’s pushing is “BS” and he’s thinking of forcing lawmakers into a special session to take up the measures.

Evers said Thursday on WTMJ-AM if Republicans “gavel in and gavel out” without debating the bills they will pay the price at the next election.

Evers and Democratic supporters have pointed to a poll from last year showing more than 80% of Wisconsin residents support universal background checks.

Evers unveiled such a proposal last week. He also supports a “red flag” law to take guns away from people a court determines to be a risk to themselves or others.

Republicans have raised Second Amendment concerns and indicated neither will be taken up by the Legislature.

Funny. It looks like it is Evers who is unwilling to debate the bills.

Not surprising. Liberals are to uneducated to debate real issues. Liberals operate on fear and emotion, not facts.

  2. Mike

    Red Flag Laws:

We already have a whole statute (Chapter 51) on dealing with mental issues that includes emergency detention and a court hearing to determine competency. We also have laws on restraining orders and harassment injunctions that include court hearings with a judge that has the ability to remove firearms from a dangerous person. Red flag laws that take away a persons rights on the barest suspicion are not about safety, they are about confiscation and control.

    Universal background checks:

Background checks are already the law for all firearm sales except private, in state, face to face sales. “internet sales” have to be shipped to a local FFL who does the background check. The common sense laws are already in effect.

Note to reporters and politicians that talk about background checks on “sales”.
The problem with universal background check proposals is that they talk about gun purchases (change of OWNERSHIP) but write the bills to apply to change of POSSESSION. this criminalizes common activities as loaning your friend a gun at the range, loaning a gun to a new hunter, and temporarily keeping a friend or relative’s guns safe. Previous bills proposed in Wisconsin would have made a criminal of a spouse if their SO went out of town more than 2 weeks.

Golly, I guess there’s nothing to be done, we shouldn’t let anyone even think about any changes!

  4. Le Roi du Nord

    marbles:

It must be humor day..  Perhaps you could explain all those conservative “facts” ; 6000 year old earth, British airports in the Revolutionary War, surgeons coming out of operating rooms to congratulate 45, ad nauseum…

And then define “alternative facts”, and why “truth isn’t truth”.

    Thanks.

  5. Kevin Scheunemann

    Nord,

Boldly spoken for someone who does not know truth yet because it has not been discovered yet.. .when asked where material leading up to Big Bang came from?

Do not ridicule someone else’s faith when your faith has no answers.

    Just common decency.

  6. Le Roi du Nord

You are right, no British airports dating back to the 1770-80’s have been discovered yet.  I’ll let you know when the news breaks.

But do you really want to get embarrassed again by the 6000 YO earth claim?

  7. jjf

This bill-debating stuff is so hard.  Even when a majority of the legislature sponsors the “dark store” bills, Vos won’t allow debate.  Why’s that?

  8. Kevin Scheunemann

    Nord,

Not embarrassed by my Christian faith.

I am shocked by your arrogance given how you cannot answer 1 simple science question to the origin of the universe.

Decency demands that you do not ridicule those that know the truth vs. someone, like yourself, who has no clue to the truth, but acts like they know the truth.

  9. Le Roi du Nord

    k:

And you keep believing that faith equals reality.  And when you prove that you have some truth to tell us rather than spouting the 2000YO fairy tale, maybe I’ll let some of your other nonsense slide.  Your arrogance about your “truth” is just an amazing example of how truly lacking in knowledge you really are.

Here is something you can bet on every time; the earth is greater than 6000 years old.    Prove it isn’t.

  10. Kevin Scheunemann

    Nord,

You keep saying your faith equals reality.   Especially when you admit there is no science proving where the material leading up to the Big Bang come from.

The problem is, you do it with an arrogance, like you have actual answers.

Don’t hold others to a standard that you don’t hold yourself to.

  11. dad29

Since LeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeRoy and Jiff-for-Brains have no useful argument on the issue, they go directly to Trump, the King of Israel and the one Chosen to defeat the Communist Chinese.

Oh, yah, and to bash Kevin for having faith in God.

There are 7-year-olds who are better trolls.

  12. Mar

Uneducated Le Roi, I have no idea what you are talking about. I guess those special education classes didn’t work out for so we’ll, did they.

  13. jjf

Useful arguments.  The topic was bills that aren’t being brought up for discussion by our dysfunctional Legislature.  As for “red flag” bills, isn’t this a fine example of one of the States experimenting with ideas for new laws?  Sure, there are Constitutional questions.  Maybe they’ll figure a way to sidestep them, maybe they won’t.  Let ’em try, I say.

I guess the sure way to fix it is to get a Constitutional Convention and change the Second, right?  Maybe the Dems will hold one after Trump abdicates.

As for Kevin and God, he’s not talking about loving his neighbor.  He’s obsessed with other stuff.  You know, kind of like the way you are obsessed with guns.  What Would Jesus Shoot?

  14. Le Roi du Nord

No k, I have never said that.  But why let the truth stand in the way of your hypocrisy?

Do you want to place a bet on that 6000YO earth, or not?

marbles:   “I have no idea what you are talking about”.  Perhaps you are the one that needs an education.

  15. Kevin Scheunemann

    Nord

Your actions scream your Big Bang faith equals reality.

It is worse, because you cannot even admit your faith because you are embarrassed I destroyed it so easily with 1 question.

Just asking for tolerance of Christian’s, after all, we tolerate your godlessness, no matter how wrong you are about objective truth.

  16. Le Roi du Nord

    k:

Since we have never met, how can you say anything about my actions?  Or are you just making stuff up again?

  17. Kevin Scheunemann

    Nord,

Actions include what you do on this site.

  18. Mar

Uneducated Le Roi, I never said the things you claim I said.
So, what the heck are you talking about?

  19. dad29

As to the Legislature:  THIS IS WHAT DEMOCRACY LOOKS LIKE, jiffy.

  20. Le Roi du Nord

mar @5:09: “Uneducated Le Roi, I have no idea what you are talking about.”

mar@3:23:”Uneducated Le Roi, I never said the things you claim I said.”

    k:

No k, they don’t.  No doubt about it, you are making stuff up.

  21. Kevin Scheunemann

    Nord,

Typing your thoughts and attitudes out on this site is not an “action”?

    What dictionary are you using?

  22. Le Roi du Nord

    A real one.

  23. jjf

Dad29 – Be brave, tell Owen to quit whining, then…

  24. dad29

if Republicans “gavel in and gavel out” without debating the bills they will pay the price at the next election.–Tokin’Tony, Lord Governor

Go ahead, Tony.  Make my day.

  25. Kevin Scheunemann

    Nord,

So what you do here is pretend action?

  26. Le Roi du Nord

Define “pretend action”.  I want everybody to experience the English language as interpreted by you.  Thanks.

  27. Kevin Scheunemann

You had indicated what you do here is not “real action”.

I asked if it was “pretend action”.

What is so hard to understand?

Are your actions here, real, or pretend?

  28. Le Roi du Nord

Again, define “pretend action”.   Dictionaries aren’t that expensive, and I’m sure your local library has one.  Or did you burn all the books?

  29. Kevin Scheunemann

    Nord,

Action that is made up, or not real.

Is that so hard for you to look up, if you were unsure?

  30. Le Roi du Nord

    k:

If it is made up, or not real, then how is it an action?   It looks like you answered the question, “can k read ?”.   Thanks

  31. Kevin Scheunemann

    I’m asking you.

You claim your posts here are not real action.

    Are you pretending?

I claim it is real action.   (you are one claiming your action is not real.)

  32. Le Roi du Nord

    k:

I am a man of action, and have proven it over the last 68+ years. But your claim falls far short of reality. But let’s use your concept: have all the untrue statements you have made on this site been actions? Are you guilty of libel/slander?

  33. Kevin Scheunemann

So now you say you “are a man of action”?

    That’s what I said in first place….

    Glad we agree.

  34. Le Roi du Nord

I doubt we agree on anything. The earth is much older than 6000 years, right?

  35. Kevin Scheunemann

It could be as much as 10,000 years old.

  36. Le Roi du Nord

You are waffling.  Previously you were adamant that it is 6000, no more, no less.  So what proof do you have of the sorta 10000 age?

  37. Kevin Scheunemann

    Nord,
That is a continual function of you misquoting me…ad nauseum.

This thread is not about me, but the awful actions of our governor. Stop making everything about my Christian faith.

  38. jjf

Kevin, you do realize that you deliberately and directly inject your religious interpretations into almost every post here, right?  Or should we simply reply “stop making everything about your Christian faith” when you do that?

  39. Kevin Scheunemann

    Jjf,

    That is my identity.

Would you give same lecture to those that lead with their carnal choices as their identity, permeating everything they say?

Can I shed my tolerance and awesome restraint for your godless identity that permeates everything you say?

  40. Le Roi du Nord

    k:

“The earth is 6000 years old”.

That is an exact quote.  In the same thread I asked you if next year it would be 6001 years old, or if it was 5999 years old last year.  You never did answer.  Now you are waffling as to the age.

  41. Kevin Scheunemann

    Nord,

That is NOT my exact quote.

    Provided the reference link.

I have always maintained “the earth is between 6,000-10,000 years old”.

    Quote me correctly.

You seem to have an issue with that…a lot.

  42. Le Roi du Nord

    k:

Since you can’t prove it isn’t your exact quote, I’m going to stand pat.  Funny you would deny something so ingrained in your personality.  But the problem with making stuff up all the time is you can’t remember what you said the last time you made something up.  Being truthful doesn’t pose that problem.

  43. Kevin Scheunemann

    Nord,

I told you what my quote was.

It is incumbant to provide the link to your lie/misquote.

I stated ther proof/truth of my quote for you and you still believe the misquote without proof.

    You are reprehensible.

  44. Mar

Uneducated Le Roi, I’m still wondering why I need to explain to you about the 6000 year old Earth, some airports and what ever else you wanted me to comment on.

  45. Le Roi du Nord

    k:

I know what you told me recently, and that is not your original quote.  And what is incumbent to any rational human is to correct your egregious errors, and especially your promotion of same.

And you have provided no such proof, just your backtracking on your “faith”.    And no, I am not reprehensible; my mother had me tested.

  46. jjf

Kevin, are you asking me how I feel about the conversationally obsessed, or are you asking my opinion of your opinions?

I’m sure we’ve all met the conversationally obsessed.  I like food in general and am quite happy to eat vegan or vegetarian as well as meat.  I know vegans who don’t inject it into every conversation.  I’ve met some who do.

There’s even a joke about it.  How do you know when someone’s a vegan?  They’ll tell you.

Or substitute CrossFit or P-90x.  (I’d insert a link to Paul Ryan’s workout photo shoot here.)  Or in your case, an identity politics Christian.  Or an anti-vaxxer.  Or an anti-evolutionist.  Or railroad trains, meat, hunting, or guns.

No matter what the conversation or situation was actually about, something triggers them to pipe up and pivot to their obsession.

You sneer “carnal choices” like it has some special meaning.  I bet even you have some carnal choices and preferences.  Maybe you don’t choose to pivot to them here in this forum on every post.  Maybe you do it somewhere else, who knows.  Maybe you just keep it between you and your partner(s).

Or as a comedic singer put it:

If you’re two consenting adults (and which of us isn’t?) it’s nobody’s business who you love, right?  Nobody’s business who you love, where you love, what equipment you might use…  Actually, the equipment is somebody’s business.

But if you were, say, bringing up your erotic obsessions with leather horsemanship gear and phallic metal objects on every thread, I bet many here would find it a bit out of the ordinary.  But who knows?  Maybe you’d discover fellow fans here.  Anything could happen!

But I bet if you had a private heart-to-heart with your fellow conservatives here, they’d tell you your obsessions were a bit much even for them.

  47. Kevin Scheunemann

    Nord,

Then point to the quote you claim is accurate.

Exact quote and link would be nice.

  48. Le Roi du Nord

I did, numerous times, and over several years; “the earth is 6000 years old”.

And you are too flexible in your faith to admit it.

  49. Kevin Scheunemann

    jjf,

For a fellow “conversationalist”, that was the most disjointed ramble I have seen in a long time.

Why is the term “carnal choices” such a problem?  I am just capitualting that some see their carnal choices as their identity.   I don’t agree one should lead with their hedonism, as a life identity, (it only leads to destruction in this life and the next) but those that do, I indicate that they lead with by indicating their “carnal choices” are first priority in their lives.   I think sexual hedonism is a horible way to live, but I always encourage them to something deeper than sexual hedonism.

Are you upset because my terminoloigy exposes the moral bankruptcy in the liberal lexicon?

  50. Kevin Scheunemann

    Nord,

Then point to one if it is so easy.

  51. Le Roi du Nord

I did: ““the earth is 6000 years old”.  Reading still is a struggle for you, right?

  52. Kevin Scheunemann

    Nord,

    Show me the link.

  53. Le Roi du Nord

No k, I won’t.  I remember what you said just fine.  You go ahead and deny it as long as you care to.  But now we all know you to be pretty flippity-floppity on matters of faith.  And even your revised 6000-10000 claim has no basis in fact or science.  So go ahead, waffle on !

  54. jjf

Kevin, what lessons do you take from the mote and beam parable?

  55. Kevin Scheunemann

    Nord,

You can’t show me because you got it wrong.

    Awful. Just awful.

  56. Kevin Scheunemann

    jjf,

A parables is an earthly story with a heavenly meaning.

Does this mean you accept the absolute truths of heaven, hell, Triume God, sin, redemption through faith in Jesus, etc?

  57. Le Roi du Nord

Nope, I have it correct, and you know it. Otherwise you would provide proof to the contrary. Why else would you prolong your waffling?

  58. Kevin Scheunemann

    Nord,

    You seem very mentally deficient.

I told you what correct quote was.  You dispute it.  It is up to you to provide the link to prove your versionof events is correct.

    Reprehensible.

  59. Le Roi du Nord

    k:

For someone that can’t remember what they said numerous times you really shouldn’t be questioning the mental abilities of others.

And I told you exactly what your quote was.  You dispute it.  Can you prove me wrong, or just continue to flip-flop.  Heck of a way to display your faith.

  60. Kevin Scheunemann

    You are awful Nord.

Just point to link to prove me wrong.

Not hard if you are so sure of yourself.

  61. Le Roi du Nord

Nope. If you were confident that you were right you would forget about the whole thing. But your ego won’t allow anyone else to be right. I’m living in your little noggin, rent free. You are sooo predictable.

  62. Kevin Scheunemann

    Still can’t find the quote?

My ego is not at issue, your lack of proof is.

  63. jjf

Way to deflect, Kevin!  Make it about me, when I ask you what you think!  And such an appropriate reaction, given the context of my question.

  64. Kevin Scheunemann

    Jjf,

I just don’t see how you can relay an earthly story with a heavenly meaning (“parable”), if you deny God, the Holy Spirit, heaven, hell, sin, redemption, and Jesus.

Tell me you accept Jesus as your redeemer from sin and I can believe you are capable of relating a “parable”.

Otherwise, you speak utter foolishness that you are capable of relaying a “parable”.

  65. Le Roi du Nord

    k:

Nope, I found it. “The earth is 6000 years old”.

  66. Kevin Scheunemann
