Shultz Considers Run

Run, baby, run.

(CNN)Former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz said on Sunday he is seriously considering running for president as a “centrist independent” in 2020.

“We’re living at a most fragile time,” Schultz told CBS’s Scott Pelley in a “60 Minutes” interview that aired on Sunday. “Not only the fact that this President is not qualified to be the president, but the fact that both parties are consistently not doing what’s necessary on behalf of the American people and are engaged every single day in revenge politics.”

Last week, CNN reported two people familiar with Schultz’s thinking said the businessman is exploring a potential 2020 presidential run as an independent.

A person close to Schultz’s advisers said his team is “exploring a possible independent bid for the presidency in 2020,” but the person emphasized that all options remained on the table.

Going independent isn’t a bad idea if you’re not interested in having to secretly purchase the DNC outright as Hillary did in 2015. It was $25 million then, plus 18 months of daily operating expenses, for a guaranteed nomination. The 2019 price tag is certain to be much higher.

Pat should be all over this “fake news” from CNN

Wacky liberal Howard Schultz is a “moderate centrist”.

I did a “spit take” reading that bunk.

  3. jsr

He seems to think he will get on the ballot in all 50 states without too much trouble.  Given the trouble well-organized third party efforts run into, this is unrealistic.  Sure, money can make up for a lack of organization, but wait until he finds out when his ballot access effort needs to start.

  4. Pat

    Kevin,

It appears I’ve really got under your skin.

I’ll say a prayer for your recovery tonight.

  5. Kevin Scheunemann

    Pat,

Just curious why you give CBS and CNN a pass here on a huge whopper of a lie?

As self appointed guardian of “truth” when it comes to news sources, this story should cause you to detonate your nukes.

  6. Pat

    Kevin,

Be careful what you beg for. If you don’t like the truth, don’t ask for it. It’ll help you sleep better.

  7. Kevin Scheunemann

    Pat,

Clearly, your silence supports these liberal lies.

    That’s unfortunate and awful.

  8. Pat

Kevin said, “That’s unfortunate and awful.”

    Why???

  9. Kevin Scheunemann

    Pat,

Because you play a “gotcha” game of impugning others news sources for all time, no matter how small the infraction to your delicate daisy bias…

But when asked what news source meets your delicate daisy standard, you refuse to answer such a simple inquiry.

    That makes you awful.

You have a chance her to denounce CNN and CBS for for all time for reporting wacko lefty CEO Shultz is a “moderate centrist”.

  10. Pat

    Kevin,

I don’t know anything about Shultz. I just found out in the past day he was the CEO of Starbucks, which is also a place I’ve never been in.

As far as your “gotcha” problem goes, it sounds more like you’re the delicate daisy who begged and pleaded for just one example of The Daily Wire having fake news. There wouldn’t have been the “gotcha” if you wouldn’t have begged for it. NI succumbed to your pleas and gave you one. Then gave you another example yesterday. If you didn’t really want me to give you a factually accurate answer, you shouldn’t have begged so hard. You are the one with the problem here. Stop being a snowflake and grow up.

    Pat,

Seriously? You know nothing of Starbucks CEO?

Owen posted at least 3 Starbucks stories about the company’s open liberal advocacy in last 12 months alone!

As a huge consumer of Boots and Sabers yourself, I think you are completely lying by pleading ignorance about the radical leftist politics of Starbucks here.

You want to ignore this stark “Fake News” example because you are a hypocrite.

I gave you an easy out, and you double down with ignorance…you never seem to plead ignorance anywhere else. Why is that?

  12. Pat

    Kevin,

I seriously know nothing about Shultz.

I haven’t read the article either, but I’ll take your word that it is fake.

  13. Kevin Scheunemann

    Pat,

Very good, we can add CBS, CNN, to the Buzzfeed “verboten” news source list.

Glad we can agree on that!

  14. Pat

    Kevin,

Glad to see you denouncing The Daily Wire as a legitimate news outlet.

  15. Kevin Scheunemann

    Pat,

We would not agree on that, because your point was not verified…as well as so minor as to be almost meaningless.

  16. MjM

Well,  nutball Tom Steyer says Bathroom Howy not ready for “prime time”,  so there’s that.

    k:

Just so we are clear here (I  know that is always problematic with you), but what do you find false in the article above?  Do you understand what the use of quotation marks means?

While you may disagree with Shultz’s politics, that doesn’t mean that CNN and CBS quoted him or the two associates falsely.  If CNN and CBS would have changed what they said (you would know all about that) to something different, then that would be considered fake news.  But if they accurately quoted those folks, and there is nothing in the article to the contrary, you are wrong. Again.

FYI:  Numerous sources had the same quotes.

  18. Kevin Scheunemann

    Nord,

They knowingly ar quoting a lie.

They know he is not centrist.   He has a long history of radical liberalism and he is a registered Democrat.

If Bernie Sanders says he is a “fiscal conservative” and media reports that UNCHALLENGED, who’s fault is that?

  19. Le Roi du Nord

    k:

No, they are quoting someone. No different than Fox quoting 45, “Mexico will pay for the wall”, or “We will repeal and replace ObamaCare with some better” , or ” The biggest inauguration crowd ever” ??

There is a difference between quoting someone and having a differing opinion on what they said.  You know that, and you can do better. Try.

  20. Kevin Scheunemann

    Nord,

Good news reporters do not let untrue labels go unchallenged.   It is ridiculous for a journalist to allow Bernie Sanders to identify himself as a pro-life, pro-gun, Evangelical lovin’, fiscal conservative.

Liberals get a pass on a lot of their spew because liberal bias allows sympathy for liberal point of view.

That is what this is all about, you guys are ticked you cannot control the narrative through the twisted liberal lens.

  21. Le Roi du Nord

    k:

You are failing at your deflection.  You called CNN and CBS for “fake news”, but now when you get schooled on the difference between opinion and quotes, you flip-flop.

You sure are a sore loser…

  22. Kevin Scheunemann

    Nord,

Missed that “schooling” part….more fake news?

  23. Le Roi du Nord

Not surprised that you can’t figure it out.  Some things never change.
