Evers Holds Public Listening Sessions for Budget

Notice anything about these?

  • December 11, 4:30PM-6:00PM: Green Bay, University of Wisconsin Green Bay, Phoenix Room. 2420 Nicolet Dr, Green Bay, WI 54311. Register for Green Bay session at this Green Bay link.
  • December 12, 12:00PM-1:30PM: Wausau, Wausau Labor Temple. 318 South Third Avenue, Wausau, WI 54401. Register for the Wausau session at this Wausau link.
  • December 18, 12:00PM-1:30PM: La Crosse, American Legion Post 52. 711 6th St South, La Crosse, WI 54601. Register for the La Crosse session at this La Crosse link.
  • December 19, 4:30PM-6:00PM: Milwaukee, United Way of Greater Milwaukee and Waukesha County Volunteer Center. 200 West Pleasant Street, Milwaukee, WI 53212. Register for the Milwaukee session at this Milwaukee link.

Yep. They are all during business hours on weekdays when most Wisconsin taxpayers are working. Furthermore, these were just announced and start this week. That’s not enough time for most working Wisconsinites to even ask off if they want to attend one of these sessions.

The result is inevitable because it is planned: the vast majority of people who show up for these sessions will be leftist activists calling for more spending. Then, after the sessions are done, Evers will use the fact that all he heard were calls for more spending as justification to propose more spending.

    will be leftist activists

    You mean “Teachers.”

In fact, this should be fun to watch!  The teachers will demand every dollar in the entire budget, as per usual.  However, there are competing interests, such as the “poor,” the illegals, the RoadBuilders, the abortionists, and the 23,142 genders.

Evers knows that if he slams heavy tax increases through on “the rich” there will be serious (but sub rosa) threats about leaving the State and taking their businesses (and money) with them.  Some of those threats will come from his own heavy-dollar backers such as Shelly Lubar.   Can he ignore that, or will he have to devise special tax programs just for them?

Buy popcorn, even if you don’t like Robin Vos.

Clearly what he should do is not hold listening sessions at all. Or announce an event at 4:30 on a Friday when it happens on a Monday. Or if he holds an event, make invite-only within the business of a donor.

Evers has to do something while he waits for the Walkers to pack up and vacate his new digs. Can’t speed dial a Madison pocket judge for injunctions until Walker actually signs those bills, so he might as well spread warm fuzzies among the faithful by hosting a few bitch sessions. It gives him a great opportunity to start lowering expectations.

    Sore losers all .

    Mark,

    Under Walker, everyone won.

It is unfortunate Democrats will be so covetous that there will be losers under Evers administration.

Liberals are never about win-win…only making life miserable for the productive.

Merlin, did the WisGOP have any “pocket judges”?

    “Under Walker, everyone won.”

Unless you use our road system, or are a local official, or a school board, or concerned about our environment, or have a private well in Kewaunee County, or a waterfront owner in central WI,……………………

Actions in the Dane County Circuit Court and US Western District Courts over the last decade would indicate they did not.

I think what you’re saying is that the Dems tend to have better arguments when in the courts.

But you can’t think of any judges or justices who are in the pockets of the WisGOP?

  10. Le Roi du Nord

    Schimel for starters.

LeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeRoy, since March I’ve put on about 10K miles on Wisconsin roads:  interstates, State highways, and county trunks.

Maybe you live in the only county with el crappo roads?  From Superior through EauClaire, LaCrosse, Madison, Green Bay, Tomah….all the roads I’ve been on have been just fine.

Sounds you have pretty low standards.  But we knew that already.

    >Sounds you have pretty low standards.  But we knew that already.

Sounds like you’re an idiot… Thanks for proving it to the world.

  14. Le Roi du Nord

Guess it takes one to know one, eh?

  15. Jason

I know you are but what am I?   Look what you’ve stooped to, little man.

  16. Le Roi du Nord

Anything to make you happy, buddy.
