Trump Jr.’s Email

This seems to be an issue.

The email chain showed how Don Jr laid out the welcome mat when he was contacted with an offer of information about Hillary, despite the fact the note mentioned Russian government support for his father.

‘This is obviously very high level and sensitive information but is part of Russia and its government’s support for Mr. Trump,’ according to one of the emails, which were first obtained by the New York Times, but not published in full by the newspaper.

The email claimed that the information ‘would incriminate Hillary and her dealings with Russia and would be very useful to your father.’

Trump Jr’s response: ‘I love it.’

I’m going to admit to having tuned out most of the RUSSIA!!!!! nonsense because so many of the stories were unsubstantiated and later debunked. It has become just noise. But this is a bit different. No, it doesn’t implicate the president, but yes, it does reveal a woeful lack of judgement by his son. It also looks like Jr. was baited into this, which is still no excuse for being so eager to accept opposition research from a foreign power.

This Russian lady had no connection to Kremlin.

Next to what Clinton Foundation did, being PAID off by foreign governments this is nothing.

Amazing how liberal standard hypocrisy has shifted on this. Hillary was getting away with murder and jr talks to someone in Russia about adoption issues who did not even have dirt on Hillary….and that is an issue?

World has gone insane next to all the corruption of Hillary that got no liberal press scrutiny at all. Donald Jr. didn’t even get a campaign donation out of it! Clinton’s would have least got a check! That was the only stupid part.

Your take is right:  this “Russian” thing jumped the shark about 3 weeks ago.

But Trump’s son showed that he is on the bottom-side of “average” in IQ.  A “Crown Prosecutor” in Russia?   REALLY???

  3. Le Roi du Nord

“that got no liberal press scrutiny at all”.

Guess you don’t pay any attention.

  4. Paul

    Chris Cornell yourself, troll.

  5. Pat

“This Russian lady had no connection to Kremlin.”
And you know this because Putin personally assured you that she had no connection?

  6. Pat

My gut feeling is that the Russian Lawyer is an agent, was looking to meet with Jr. to either coordinate with or begin to compromise, was not expecting Fredo to show up with Manafort and Kushner, and possibly got spooked.

  7. Pat

And in regards to Clinton, we have a Republican majority in charge. I think if it is of a major concern to Republicans they by all means should open an investigation.

  8. Le Roi du Nord

    Pat:

I agree, if there is any proof HRC did anything illegal then why isn’t the current administration pursuing that any more?

  9. Paul

Too bad your children don’t pull a Menendez on you, troll.

No proof but CNN, MSNBC, NYT, WAPO and the rest will all breathlessly report this treasonous act … not that the media is biased or guilty of publishing fake news.

  11. 3rd Way

If they were baited this surely isn’t the worst of it. This isn’t going away.

  12. Pat

No proof, but would you place a bet that I’m wrong? I’d bet that there’s a greater probability that I’m right. IMO

  13. billphoto

Amazing that ‘no proof’ equates to guilty if you happen be associated with the Republican party or anything conservative but a blue dress means nothing if there is a ‘D” behind your name.  At least we can rest peacefully knowing our beloved ex-President Bill Clinton “did not have sexual relations with that woman.”

  14. Pat

I don’t understand why Republican’s, who have the presidency and both houses, haven’t started their own investigation proceedings against the Clintons.

  15. Pat

Didn’t Trump promise his minions that he would have HRC locked up. His followers are still chanting, “Lock her up”, at rallies. What gives??? Why is she still walking around free??

  16. billphoto

Oh, oh.  Sorry, I forgot … squirrel.

  17. Pat

I’m not the one who deflected by bringing up the Clintons.

Actually, the comparison was to highlight the hypocrisy of the media.

On topic, what little I have found that I have any confidence in being real is that Jr. is an idiot.  In today’s turbocharged environment, simply giving a complement to another person can get one in dutch.  He should have known better.

From The Hill: “…it was the Obama Justice Department that enabled the newest and most intriguing figure in the Russia-Trump investigation to enter the country without a visa.”

“The U.S. Attorney’s office in New York confirmed Wednesday to The Hill that it let Veselnitskaya into the country on a grant of immigration parole from October 2015 to early January 2016.

Justice Department and State Department officials could not immediately explain how the Russian lawyer was still in the country in June for the meeting with Donald Trump Jr. and the events in Washington D.C.”

“… sources also described their interactions with Veselnitskaya in the same way that Trump Jr. did. They claimed not to know who she worked for or what her motives were.

“Natalia didn’t speak a word of English,” said one source. “Don’t let anyone tell you this was a sophisticated lobbying effort. It was the least professional campaign I’ve ever seen. If she’s the cream of the Moscow intelligence community then we have nothing to worry about.”

Would be nice to know what really happened.

  20. Pat

Ok, it was Obama’s fault that Don Jr, Kushner, and Manafort met with the Russian lawyer.

  21. billphoto

    Ok, it was Obama’s fault

I guess I should try this on the grade school level.  THE POINT IS WHY THIS WOMAN WAS IN THE UNITED STATES AT ALL.  It could be the DOJ, State Dept and DHS are all incompetent or it could be there is a reason not disclosed.  Try to keep up.

Veselnitskaya was temporarily allowed into the US in fall 2015 when an earlier visa request was denied. The temporary grant was due to expire in January 2016.  Why she was still in this Country 6 months later is an unresolved question.
Veselnitskaya entered the US in late 2015 under extraordinary circumstances as a special immigration parole entrant to help defend a client under criminal investigation but she was acting as a lobbyist to overturn the Magnitsky Act.  There is a photograph from June 9, 2016, with Veselnitskaya seated in the front row of a House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing but she should have left our Country in January.

  22. Pat

“THE POINT IS WHY THIS WOMAN WAS IN THE UNITED STATES AT ALL”

I’m sure the reason for this will come out during the investigation.

  23. Pat

But really, what does that have to do with three top Trump campaign personal meeting with her, and as we’re seeing, at least one other Russian?

And I’d appreciate if you could dumb down your answer to grade school level again.

  24. Pat

Fake news is now reporting at least 8 people were in attendance for this nothing meeting.

  25. billphoto

Would really be nice to be able to separate the real from the fake news.  Obviously, Trump Jr. was/is an idiot thinking this 20 minute meeting would not blow up in his face but I think it would be just as nice to know the truth about what DNC operative Alexandra Chalupa was up to with the Ukrainians.  I do find it difficult to believe either committed some heinous crime.

  26. Pat

“I do find it difficult to believe either committed some heinous crime.”

How about something that was/is illegal?

  27. billphoto

Personally, I find it hard to believe HRC and her DNC pals don’t belong in prison but I’ll wait before I just to conclusions.  Just as bad is George Snuffleupagus who interrupts guests with his innate liberal interpretation of reality and people who believe what he says is fact.

  28. Pat

Personally I find it hard to believe that the current administration isn’t corrupt. My reasoning for this belief is the daily lies that spew, and the total lack of transparency.

  29. billphoto

‘The Trump administration is corrupt’ is certainly the narrative the Main Stream Media is pushing.  One can only wonder what the public perception would be if the shoe were on the other foot and there were 7 active investigations into Clinton and the DNC with the accompanying incessant  media biased reporting.

Investigations into the Trump administration and Russia:

    House intelligence committee

    Senate intelligence committee

Justice Department investigation led by special counsel Robert Mueller

    Senate Judiciary Committee

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee

    Department of Defense Inspector General

    House Financial Services Committee

… as reported by National Public Radio.

  30. Pat

“One can only wonder what the public perception would be if the shoe were on the other foot”

If Chelsea Clinton received an email stating that she would receive information from the Russian government about Trump that would help her mother’s campaign, she agreed to the meeting, met with a number of Russians, along with two top campaign personnel, and gave verying information about the meeting, Republicans would be holding investigations, calling for impeachment, and going ape 24/7 on every right wing media outlet including TV, radio, print, and internet.

  31. billphoto

  32. Pat

Wow! Must have really touched a nerve!!!
I hope you feel better tomorrow.

  33. Kevin Scheunemann

News out this AM. Clinton foundation took 500k from Moscow during campaign.

    Which is bigger story?

Hillary being bribed by Russia or Trump JR. taking a meeting to uncover Hillary’s corruption?

Liberalism just found a new way to disgust me…and I thought that was impossible!

  34. Pat

I’m sure with the Republicans holding complete control of the government they are all over the Clintons illegal activities and will bring them to justice in short time.

  35. billphoto

Mr Scheunemann – some people are so prejudiced they are unable to accept with any facts outside their belief system.  Even if you agree, you are wrong.  Try what I do, just laugh and scream Russia, Russia, Russia.

  36. Pat

” some people are so prejudiced they are unable to accept with any facts outside their belief system.”

    Amen to that!

  37. Le Roi du Nord

    Pat and bill:

” some people are so prejudiced they are unable to accept with any facts outside their belief system.”

    I agree as well.

  38. Kevin Scheunemann

If “prejudice” is euphemism for knowing difference between good and evil…. I don’t agree.

There is a lot of open embrace of evil in this country by covetous behavior.

  39. Le Roi du Nord

    prejudice:

    1.

an unfavorable opinion or feeling formed beforehand or without knowledge, thought, or reason.

    2.

any preconceived opinion or feeling, either favorable or unfavorable.

    3.

unreasonable feelings, opinions, or attitudes, especially of a hostile nature, regarding an ethnic, racial, social, or religious group.

    But on something totally unrelated……

Thoughts and prayers go out to John McCain and his family.

No matter which end of the political spectrum you park your butt, this is devastating news for a true American hero, and all Americans.
