Court Rules State Law Trumps Milwaukee’s Residency Ordinance

To summarize, first, we hold that Wis. Stat. § 66.0502 precludes the City from enforcing its residency requirement. The Legislature has the power to legislate on matters of local affairs when its enactment uniformly affects every city or every village, notwithstanding the home rule amendment.

Barrett out there complaining about employees having a choice!

If his soft on crime ridden city was serious about jailing thugs, people would not leave in droves! Coddling criminals has consequence, it’s about time these union workers are afforded opportunity to stop paying the price of liberal mismanagement in Milwaukee!

  2. old baldy

So what is the difference between liberal mismanagement in Milw., and conservative/tea party mismanagement in the Capitol?

  3. Kevin Scheunemann

One exists. The other is figmant of your imagination.

  4. old baldy

Right, we have WEDC, DNR (94% failure rate on WQ permit enforcement) and the legislature. I’m glad you admit that liberal mismanagement doesn’t exist.

  5. Kevin scheunemann

We have lowest unemployment rate in 15 years. Has WEDC been effective? Clearly, it has to some extent. Could it use improvement? sure, but unlike Barrett in Milwaukee, Walkker has achieved job results!

DNR failure rate? DNR, EPA radical environmentalists moves the standards to, in some case 10 times more stringency, taking what were many in compliance to out of compliance with impossible criteria… That is failure?

That is nothing next to the tolerating, soft on crime sewer, that is Tom Barrett.

  6. Calvin and Hobbs

By no means am I a Trump supporter, I’m the original #NeverTrump going back to the 90’s, that being said, I find it a little disingenuous the democrats going after him for wanting to build a wall. Look at the Democratic Party and the “walls” they’ve either built or tried to build over the last 50 years to keep people from leaving Milwaukee.
    > freeway expansion
    > residency rules
    > denying water to Waukesha
I’m sure there’s more. It just seems so simple, if only they tried as hard to make Milwaukee a city people wanted to come to and live as they do in trying to stop people from leaving.

So corruption, graft, pollution, loss of local control and gerrymandering are OK in kevWorld? I truly am concerned about the world my grand kids are inheriting from you and yours.

  8. Kevin Scheunemann

I worry about all that, but 90% of it comes from liberal side.

When it happens in conservative side, conservatives tend to eat the troublemaker.

Liberals excuse it and let it continue. Just look at Hillary.

  9. old baldy

Huh? What are you putting in the Dilly Bars today?

  10. Jason

Notice how Owen lets Old Baldy personally attack Kevin daily, but when someone takes a jab at Baldy, that comment disappears?

  11. Patrick

I’ve noticed the same thing. The guy adds no value to conversations other than insults. Doesn’t make this blog good to see the owner allow this person to constantly harass and bully other commenters.

  12. old baldy

    jason and patrick:

kev insults the intelligence of every reader with his outrageous and factually challenged claims. Yet when he gets called on those outrageous statements he goes on the offensive rather than educate himself. And now he needs you two guys/gals to defend him.

I have never used bad language in my posts, nor have I ever threatened anyone with physical harm. If challenging kev on his position is reason for getting banned, so be it.

  13. Kevin Scheunemann

    Baldy said,

“kev insults the intelligence of every reader with his outrageous and factually challenged claims.”

Wow, are you sure you don’t embrace some sort of absolute truth worldview with statement?

Sounds to me like you threw off your “Coexist” advocacy as well. Aren’t you suppose to “tolerate” my humble statements by telling others that Christians, like myself, have an “important contribution”…like Obama does for Muslims?

  14. old baldy

Just more of your word salad trying to defend an indefensible position.

  15. Kevin Scheunemann

So you will not say “Christians have important contributions”?

I thought the “coexist”, moral relativism movement, was willling to say that about everyone.

I’m willing to say “Muslims have important contributions….if they are willing renounce the violence and terrorism advocated in the their holy books.”

  16. Washington Adams Jefferson

Read the fine print on that COEXIST bumper sticker. It says, under my terms and and conditions only.
