Horrible Christmas

Scary.

A robbery occurred early Christmas morning in Madison after two intruders produced a handgun, forced their way into a home and made off with valuables, the Madison Police Department said in an incident report.

Around 12:30 a.m. Friday, two men knocked on the door of a residence on the 1100 block of Emerald Street, the report said. When one of the two victims opened the door, a man with a gun forcibly entered the premises, and a second unarmed man followed, according to police. One intruder took a victim into a bedroom and searched drawers, while the other waited in the living and checked the second victim’s purse, police said.

The robbers left the scene with an undisclosed amount of items, including cash, a wallet, phones and other valuables, according to the police.

First, I wouldn’t answer my door for anyone knocking at that hour. Second, I certainly wouldn’t do it without a gun and a phone in my hands.

Lived on the other side of that block, thirty years ago. Still a nice neighborhood.
