“Days are Numbered”

I wish I was as optimistic, but this is just bluster without anything behind it.

Tunis (AFP) – US Secretary of State John Kerry on Friday warned the Islamic State jihadist group its “days are numbered”, following an American strike in Syria targeting British militant “Jihadi John”.

“The coalition forces conducted an air strike targeting…Jihadi John,” whose real name is Mohammed Emwazi, he said on a visit to Tunis.

“We are still assessing the results of this strike but the terrorists associated with Daesh need to know this: Your days are numbered and you will defeated,” said Kerry, using the Arabic acronym for IS.

“There is no future, no path forward” for IS, the secretary of state said.

While Kerry wants to spike the football after spending millions of dollars to kill one man, under Obama’s watch we have seen IS spread from a rag-tag group of malcontents to an organized force that infects two continents and has a solid base of power. We don’t have a perceptible strategy to do anything to inhibit IS’ growth. Frankly, as we all know it, IS has far more to fear from Putin than Obama. Putin has shown a willingness to follow up his words with action.

    Prescient post given tonight.

But I fear there will not be any lessons learned from this and those of us in the US will keep naively tweeting away #vivalafrance and stuff like that. The scary part is the attacks are coming here. Just a matter of time.

Unfortunately, once again, Kerry was wrong.
How much effort did we expend getting Jihad John or whatever that thus name is.
Could we have done more damage by directing the resources for 1 thug and instead killing many more thugs?
Now, almost 400 innocent Europeans have been killed in the past few weeks in 2 terrorist attacks.
And it is only a matter of time when something this big happens here because of Obama’s failed policies.

The spread of ISIS is largely due to our misadventures in Iraq and Afghanistan engineered by the Bush administration. Anyone who listens to you guys should have his head examined.

One good thing, though. This attack may cause right-wingers to put aside their absurd French-bashing and suddenly find la solidarite with the French people.

This is what happens when Obama surrenders Iraq to ISIS. Failure to eliminate evil has dire consequences.

    Fixed that for you.

Mohammed? You meant “religion”, right? ISIS is simply carrying out religious views, right? You know, Bronze-Age middle-eastern shepherd monotheism? Judaism, Christianity, Islam – a horse apiece.

I’m reminded of a recent post I saw. From “How to Explain the Religions of Abraham to the Hollywood Generation”:

“No, Muslims don’t believe that Jesus was the Messiah. Think of it like a movie. The Torah is the first one, and the New Testament was the sequel. Then the Qu’ran comes out, and it retcons the last one like it never happened. There’s still Jesus, but he’s not the main character anymore, and the messiah hasn’t shown up yet. Jews like the first movie but ignored the sequels. Christians think you need to watch the first two, but the third movie doesn’t count. The Muslims think the third one was the best, and Mormons liked the second one so much, they started writing fan-fiction that doesn’t fit with ANY of the series canon.”

scott, once again, you show you are an idiot.
Isis wasn’t around when Bush left office, you dolt.
Obama is 100% responsible for the Isis threat- his lack of actions have caused Isis to get stronger and stronger.
