Obama Golfs Amidst Drought

It is almost funny to watch a president whose “give a darn” is clearly broken.

Rancho Mirage (United States) (AFP) – US President Barack Obama played golf near the desert city of Palm Springs, California Saturday, shrugging off criticism that ambling around thirsty, lush greens was unseemly during a historic drought.

Obama is slated to play two courses at the weekend, Sunnylands and Porcupine Creek, a father’s day weekend escape from Washington and from the ardors of his grinding presidential schedule.

First Lady Michelle Obama and the couple’s two daughters are in Europe.

The Coachella Valley, with dozens of world-class courses, would be a natural getaway for Obama, who has played golf more than 200 times while in office — something that has not been lost on his critics.

I don ‘t have a problem with a president golfing.

I do have a problem with liberals foaming outrage and screaming every time George W, played, but then are silent when Obama golfs while in office….many more times than George W.

I wonder what’s causing the historic drought. All presidents have the right to some free time. It’s a job not a sentence. Stupid.

Umm, Jade, when you preach that the world is ending because of global warming/climate change and then fly out to California to raise money and play golf, then it is an issue.
Obama is a first class hypocrite. It’s “do as I say, don’t do I say”.
It’s not like there are not any golf courses on the West Coast.
Meanwhile, Michelle and kids are over in London and other places in Europe, more hypocrisy from the Obama family.

  4. Dan

Darn, should have said It’s not like there are not any golf courses on the East Coast

There are desert, volcanic, mountain and even article golf courses. Trying to connect Obama’s golf destination to climate change is ridiculous. If the numbers are correct (played 200 times while in office) that’s less then one round every two to three weeks. I know guys that play two or three rounds a week. This is a reach. Stick to criticizing Obama’s handling of ISIS it’s deserving.

Darn, should have said arctic not article. Damn auto correct.

If he was shooting guns at the range the same number of hours you guys would be creaming your jeans about how he relaxes

Probably what irritates the most is he could care less what the right thinks . He beat your twice , handily I might add.

As to his handling of Isis , our guys aren’t getting killed and we aren’t in the middle of a civil war. That’s what the public wants

If you want us over there , please send YOUR kids first for 2 or 3 tours .

Gun ranges don’t take millions of gallons of water to keep the grass in good shape.

    Mark,
You are assuming Middle East tours haven’t been served by me or my sons. My family has proudly sacrificed for this nation. As the most powerful nation on earth we have a responsibility to protect others from naked aggression. Civil war or not, killing people based for ethnic or religious reasons is genocide. I pay my taxes to support a military capable of intervening. I support not only my family members currently serving but all of our men and women in uniform. I would be sure to take as many tours as possible, if allowed, to protect our young men, women and those who use the send your kids first crap. Thanks for your support. Oh and by the way, polling numbers show the majority of Americans support further action against ISIS.

    Jaded,
    Respectfully
lets go to all the area’s of genocide , not just where there’s oil .

I don’t see any soldiers mobilizing for Africa.

You strike me as someone who cares about all people yet nothing is being done where huge sums of money can’t be made or lost

I would have the oil companies pay you and your kids 10x the military wage to protect THIER investments as private contractors

In many ways, they are nations unto themselves

The fight in Iraq is not ours and all the faux patriotism of politicians doesn’t change that fact

I don’t want any American soldiers killed in an Un winnable situation and that is what current Iraq is.

Bush broke the pottery barn into a million pieces . Your kids don’t have to be the last ones killed finding that out .

    Mark,
There is no good war. I agree genocide is happening in many places and I think we should do more. The difference is ISIS decided to call us out as their number one target. Chopping off the heads of our people is an act of war. Bush made a stupid decision but it was backed by Dems and Repubs alike (based on misinformation). It was one that would of happened anyway. It was just a matter of time before Saddam had to be removed. We also have a commitment to Israel. I personally think Israel can take care of itself. As long as oil makes the world go round we will be involved. The bottom line is we are already involved and Obama deserves some criticism for not working harder to find solutions. Maybe the solution is boots on the ground… I don’t know. Maybe there is a political solution… I don’t know. I do know, by all appearances, it seems like Obama isn’t doing enough do make sure the men and women already there are coming home. Obama has the right to some free time, golf or whatever, this article was a stretch.

    Let’s get real .

Things every bit as bad as beheadings are being done in Africa and we are doing nothing .

This is about oil and who controls it .

We spend billions in treasure and thousands of lives and now we are listening to the same assholes who got us in and kept us in Itaq on how it’s our duty to fix it and fast

They had their shot and failed miserably

We’ve seen ” seat of the pants ” and ” gut instinct ” leadership . In it, our folks get killed

One journalist for 5,000 men and women is a trade presidents make everyday

Last thing , when Isee 5 time deferer Dick Cheney on TV talking about the need for more troops , I throw up a little in my mouth
Eager to send troops, unwilling to fight himself

  13. Jadedly Unbiased

This is not me! Someone has apparently hacked the website. Someone used my screen name. Kevin, look at the writing style this is not me. Someone has crossed the line.

  14. Owen

JU, I see someone posting under your name from a different IP. I’ve deleted what I could find.

  15. Jadedly Unbiased

Thank you! How does this happen and does this mean they have my info?

  16. Jadedly Unbiased

Can you provide me with the IP address?

  17. Jason

“How does this happen and does this mean they have my info?”

Really? It would be quite simple… in the “Name” field, someone types in “Jadedly Unbiased”, and in the “Email” field, someone types in an email address (it doesn’t even have to be real).

There’s no hacking going on. Someone is being an asshat, that’s all.

What would you do with the IP address if Owen were to give it to you? Call Time Warner or Charter and demand to know the customer’s name because someone posted something using your Online Moniker? Calm down Francis.

  18. Jadedly Unbiased

I get it. I thought maybe they had access to my email. With that the possibilities are endless. If they are stupid and sent directly from IP address it is potentially traceable to a location. I thought screen names were exclusive to the email provided with it. Shows how much I know.
