“Mum thinks I’m an idiot,” Harrison Williams told Australia’s 7 News. “Dad’s not too proud, either.”
The 26-year-old was on a boat with friends off the coast of Western Australia when they came across a dead whale.
“One of my mates thought it’d be pretty funny if I surfed the whale,” Williams said. “So I just did it.”
Aerial footage showed Williams jump into the water and climb on top of the rotting whale as several tiger sharks and at least one great white were reportedly feeding on the carcass.
Depending on how long the sharks had been feeding he may have actually been in very little danger. I saw something like this on shark week about 8 years ago. The sharks over eat so much they act like it late afternoon on thanksgiving.
