Trump Runs Into Wisconsin Talk Radio Buzzsaw

Donald Trump came off as pretty clueless about Wisconsin and its conservative landscape in a series of talk radio interviews. He hung up on Vicki McKenna. You can hear him bluster with Charlie Sykes here:

Here’s the thing… Wisconsin has been one of the centers of the Conservative movement in the nation for the past 5-8 years. If you are a conservative, you are at least somewhat familiar with Wisconsin and the key players. Trump doesn’t have a clue. It should serve to remind his supporters that whatever Trump is, he is not a Conservative. And a lot of us conservatives are not going to make a choice between two wealthy liberal New York tyrants. We’ll choose another way.

I happened to be in the Milwaukee area and heard this interview live. Calling the interview a “Buzzsaw” is a bit misleading. It really was more of a rubbing with extra fine sandpaper.

Your blinders are a bit tight. If Chuckles has to say “Don’t you know who I am?”, then he’s not as big as his ego thinks he is. Even among Wisconsinites as a whole, Sykes doesn’t have the reach you think he does.

I’ve met plenty of people from across the spectrum who’ve never heard of him, especially as you move beyond WOW counties. According to January’s Arbitron ratings, even with the boost from the presidential race, WISN is third in the market.

Apply your rule to conservatives you know. Do they know the name of the top talk-radio blowhard in the nation’s top five centers of conservatism? Where are these hubs and how are you defining them? Madison County, Idaho, is the most Republican spot in the USA. Who is on the radio there? Are you talking about hubs of evangelicals or regions like Appalachia?

But feel free to keep an eye on Chuckles’ adherence to “civility and decency.”

    It was a great interview.

It threw that liberal Trump on the map.

I’ve met 1 person who is voting for Trump. A family member who voted for Obama.

Trump has no standing among serious conservatives.

Not a Sykes fan and never heard of the WISN talker .
    Sykes is on WTMJ

The pair both called Trump on his ” he did it first ” behavior which ws refreshing . I’ve never heard a political candidate who is so thin skinned and desperate to hear only positive comments

They did not ask him any specifics on his statements that he
Will make America great by virtue of his ability to make
Everyone do what’s he wants them to do or face ( as he said of
    Paul Ryan ) the consequences

Pure conservatives won’t vote for him
    Women won’t vote for him
    Blacks won’t vote for him
    Latinos won’t vote for him

So he’s left with angry , reactive white dudes

I am rooting for him with every fiber of my ” left leaning but stable”
    Being .

Trump is who I am voting for simply because he is for the people. He owes nothing to special interest and is putting America first. Cruz on the other hand is bought a paid for.
Heidi Cruz has been employed by Goldman Sachs since 2005. She is currently on leave.
Heidi Cruz is a member of the LEFTIST council on foreign relations, advocates of world Government and a New World Order.
Ted Cruz was George Bush’s top policy adviser.
Ted Cruz was in the federal Trade Commission.
Ted and Heidi met when they were both Bush staffers.
Cruz advised on legal affairs and Heidi on economic policy for the bush administration
