Wisconsin Ends Fiscal Year With Surplus

Give it back to the people who paid excess taxes.

Madison, Wis. – Wisconsin concluded Fiscal Year 2021, which ended on June 30, 2021, with a positive balance of $2.58 billion.  In addition, the state increased its Budget Stabilization Fund (“Rainy Day” Fund) to a record-high $1.73 billion according to the new Annual Fiscal Report released by the Wisconsin Department of Administration (DOA) today.

By prudently managing our way through this crisis, we’ve built the largest Budget Stabilization Fund in state history,” – DOA Secretary Joel Brennan

Gosh. No mention of the billion$ in federal tax money received to help “prudently manage”.

    Other highlights…

“Total GPR expenditures for the University of Wisconsin (UW) System increased by $86.4 million, or 8 percent, in FY 2021.”

“Funding for the School Levy Tax Credit in FY 2021 was $940.0 million GPR, unchanged from FY 2020.”

10 years from now liberals will be singing the praises of genius Evers for having a surplus even during those terrible Covid times. More sickening spin than a tilt-a-whirl.
