Letter To the Editor

Dear Editor,

I am writing to share my personal experience with the West Bend school district putting out a new book and curriculum for 9th grade Biology. First, there was an open viewing of the book and curriculum to anyone who pays taxes but the only means of notification to the public was an email to limited audience. I was told that this was open to the public but later found out that whoever was in charge of putting out the invitation refused to let people know there was an evening viewing. What are they trying to hide?  Second, the book filled with non-science and pseudo-science topics such as climate change, population control and evolution.  Instead of teaching the Science of Biology it is a total indoctrination of agenda-driven propaganda. I do not want my taxes paying for this type of brain-washing This situation reminds me of the way the Community Hospital relocation to where it is now was accomplished. Then only after the outcry by many people from this community did an open and faux meeting occur. The move proponents pretended to care what we thought, only to do what they wanted in the end anyway. We need change in our school district so kids learn what they should and not a political agenda.  If you want change in our district vote for Jody Geenen for the School Board on April 7.

The letter was great until the last sentence where it turned political.
If she left out the last sentence, it would have had a much greater effect. But it turned her concerns into a political concern rather a true concern about the book.

  2. Le Roi du Nord

The political commentary came far earlier with, “the book filled with non-science and pseudo-science topics such as climate change, population control and evolution”.     I wish the title of the book had been included so we could all see what those “pseudo-science topics” consist of; she in favor of teaching the science rather than the denial of those issues, or is she a denier herself?

  3. Kevin Scheunemann

    Nord,

Ouch.  You are already declaring this person a heretic to your favorite cults?

Why do you keep pushing your favored religions and indoctrination in schools?

    Awful.  Just awful.

  4. Le Roi du Nord

No k, I didn’t declare her a heretic.  I asked several questions regarding what she is concerned about, where she stands, and what her concerns are.  Again you have to make up a false narrative to salve your ego.  Isn’t lying against your christian code of conduct?  Or are you exempt?

  5. Mark Hoefert

It looks like the text that they intend to purchase is “Dimensions: Biology”.

Here is executive summary being presented to the Board in reference to purchasing it as a resource:

Unfortunately the links in the memo are Google Docs not accessible to the public. Permission to view needs to be requested and then granted.  In the past I  have tried to access documents like that – never got return email granting access.

So much “transparency” from the WBSD – stunning.

  6. Pat

What alternative textbook would Mrs. Weymier, and Mrs. Greenen, recommend?

  7. Mar

Wouldn’t it be nice if the book talked about all side of the issues instead of just saying climate change is factually a man made problem or even if it is occurring? Or that there is evidence of a God and the world may have been created by a God.
That would be nice, wouldn’t it be Le Roi?

  8. dad29

This is SOP for damn near every school district, going all the way back to “mandatory sex ed” crapola in the early ’90’s.  There are variations, such as having committees which include objectors (fairness!!) except the committees are stacked.

Face it.  School administrators are always smarter than taxpayers, always better looking, and their Moms liked them more, too.

    Objections?  You’re deplorable.

  9. Mar

Wow, Le Roi, can’t stay on topic and sides with Washington governor who is a crackpot. I guess those ADHD meds aren’t working tonight, are they.

  10. Le Roi du Nord

No mar, it is on topic, and the topic is the definite anti-science bias of our fearless leader and many of the followers of this site, you included.  What are you afraid of?  Your shadow?

  11. Mar

Gee, Le Roi, I thought we were talking about text books.
But I see you are too hyper to answer my question to you.
Time for bed time, Le Roi.

  12. jjf

Golly, if it’s in a letter to the editor, it must be so!  People are talking!

  13. Le Roi du Nord

Odd you would say that mar, as you are the one that brought politics into the discussion.

Here is why we need more science education:  “Does anybody die from the flu? I didn’t know people died from the flu.”  d.j. trump

PS:  His grandfather died from the flu…….

  14. Mar

Le ROI, I didnt bring politics into this. I just it was a good letter until she endorsed a canidate

  15. Jason

Leroy and his “whataboutism”. Disgusting tactic of the feeble minded.

  16. Mar

Oh Le Roi, what pathetic liars you and your ilk are.
Trump’s grandfather died in 1918 and President Trump was born in the 1940s.
Therefore, President Trump did not know his grandfather was he was born 20+ years after his grandfather died.
    President Trump is factually accurate.

  17. Le Roi du Nord

    mar:

What did I lie about?  Or isn’t this what you said?

“But it turned her concerns into a political concern rather a true concern about the book”.

I didn’t say trump knew his grandfather, I said that his grandfather died from the flu.  A rational person with any sense of family or history would have known that, or that the flu epidemic of 1917-9 killed a lot of folks.  Two of my great uncles died from the flu in ’18, one in the US, the other while in the army in Europe.

True, trump was sorta accurate, but only in the sense that he really doesn’t know much to start with..

  18. Mar

Here is most of the quote”In Atlanta on Friday, President Trump talked about the number of people infected with the novel coronavirus in other countries vs. the United States. He also compared coronavirus disease with influenza.

“Over the last long period of time, you have an average of 36,000 people dying” a year, the president said, gesturing toward National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Anthony S. Fauci, who nodded confirmation.

Trump continued: “I never heard those numbers. I would’ve been shocked. I would’ve said, ‘Does anybody die from the flu? I didn’t know people died from the flu.’ … And again, you had a couple of years where it was over a 100,000 people died from the flu.”

Subscribe to the Post Most newsletter: Today’s most popular stories on The Washington Post

The president is correct. Seasonal influenza has killed 12,000 to 61,000 people in the United States every year since 2010, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. There have been several years where more than 100,000 Americans were killed by particularly nasty influenza strains.”
    So pathetic, Le Roi.

  19. MjM

Nort wonders: “What did I lie about?”

Well, besides many things, this: “His grandfather died from the flu”

There is no evidence Fredrick Trump ever had the “Spanish flu” (the name itself a lie). His death certificate cites only pneumonia as the cause of death.

A rational person with any sense would know not to jump to conclusions just to fit a narrative.

  20. MjM

Nort sucks up to and believes the lying: “….washingtonpost…”

    Ha! Ha! Riiiiight. The Compost.

What is missing from the article, numbnutz? Go on. Take a wild guess.

I guess this needs repeating: a rational person with any sense would know not to jump to conclusions just to fit a narrative.

  21. jjf

Oh, this is delicious, MjM, given the title and content of the original post here.

  22. Le Roi du Nord

    mar:

Exactly. If trump knew that the flu was a killer, why would he make such a ridiculous statement to follow? I’ll let you fill in the blanks.  Probably for the same reason he thinks that the British had airports during the revolutionary war.

    mjm:

So I shouldn’t believe the WaPo, or the historical record, but I should believe you?  That wouldn’t be a rational decision on my part.

  23. Le Roi du Nord

“The family story of his death is that “on May 29, 1918, while walking with his son Fred, Trump suddenly felt extremely sick and was rushed to bed. The next day, he was dead. What was first diagnosed as pneumonia turned out to be one of the early cases of the Spanish flu, which caused millions of deaths around the world”.

    Gwenda Blair: The Trumps…    2000

  24. Mar

Le ROI, since there was not the medical science there is today, it is a guess what he died of.
And President Trump started his sentence by saying “Trump continued: “I never heard those numbers. I would’ve been shocked. I would’ve said, ‘Does anybody die from the flu? I didn’t know people died from the flu.’ … And again, you had a couple of years where it was over a 100,000 people died from the flu.”
Again, you pathetic liar, you left out the first part of his sentence: “Trump continued: “I never heard those numbers. I would’ve been shocked.” That totally changes the context of what he said.
    Why are you so dishonest?
Oh wait you’re a liberal and suffer from from Trump Derangement Syndrome. You don’t know any better.
    Get some help.

  25. Le Roi du Nord

    mar:

And that is a guess on your part as well.  The flu epidemic of that era was well documented, so I’ll go with the historians and medical professionals.

And how could someone in their 70’s, supposedly well educated and a stable genius, a self-proclaimed expert on infectious diseases and vaccines, and having lived through several flu scares over the years, never became aware that the flu could be fatal?  The context is the same, he doesn’t know much about anything but insults and self-promotion, and proves it every day.

As a highly educated individual yourself, why do you persist in defending folks so dedicated to ignorance and deception?

  26. Mar

Le Roi your first is correct.
But Le Roi, why do you criticize and a hate a person so much? A person who is way smarter than you, more successful than you, probably better looking than you and more educated than you?
Perhaps your jealous that he has a beautiful wife, very successful kids and lives a clean lifestyle.
Sucks to be you, with all your hatred and jealousy.

  27. Pat

    BAMMM!!!

    Mar unloads with both barrels.

  28. MjM

Nort wallows in muck: “So I shouldn’t believe the WaPo, or the historical record, but I should believe you?”

Absolutely not.   Not that false one.   Yes.

The Compost merely regurgitates a false historical record for the same reason you regurgitated the Compost.   You, the Compost, and Mz. Blair offer no proof of the Spanish Flu being the cause of death of Frederich Trump.  Mz. Blair uses a “story of the family”,  quoting no one,  falsely claims “Trump suddenly felt extremely sick and was rushed to bed. The next day, he was dead”,   and then by some divination simply surmises, well, it MUST have been the Spanish flu.

Regurgitating the Compost’s Fraud News lies makes them yours, numbnutz.

I’ll stick with what the doc actually wrote on the death certificate: pleno pneumonia.

  29. jjf

Meanwhile, millions believe Trump when he says “People say” and “People are talking.”

  30. Le Roi du Nord

    mar:

I don’t hate the person.  I don’t “hate” anybody, and I have said that numerous times on this site.  Pay attention.

But I do have a dislike and distrust for anyone, makes no difference who, that has such a disregard for the truth, treats anyone that disagrees with them with such disrespect, and is an unabashed self-promoter and braggart.  And I’m not just talking about trump, but anyone that fills those roles.

And I would love to take any intelligence test with your leader, the guy that thinks the Brits had airports in the 1770-80’s, or thinks that windmills cause cancer, or regards himself as a stable genius.  He might know how to con slightly less that 50% of the 2016 presidential voters, but he isn’t very smart.

More successful?  Maybe financially, but my father didn’t give me millions to start out with, I have never been chronically bankrupt,  never cheated on my wife (or had three wives), and my wife is certainly better looking all my kids are well educated and successful.  I don’t know what “clean lifestyle you are referring to, as he sure doesn’t look or act very healthy. So no, I don’t think I am jealous, not one iota.

Spin and deflect as you wish.

  31. Le Roi du Nord

    mjm:

And who are you quoting, what reference do you cite, or what information are you privy to that no one else has??  Or are you just making it all up?

  32. Pat

    KABOOOM!!!

    Nord drops the Fat Man!!!!

  33. MjM

Nort plays all Three Blind Mice: ” who are you quoting, what reference do you cite, or what information are you privy to…”

    My Lord,  you are dense.

The actual recorded death certificate from of the NYC Health Dept.

I realize this may be way to hard for you to comprehend, but you can at least read, yes?

Nort looks in the mirror XXI : “Or are you just making it all up?”

Given this – and Conner Sports – that’s obviously your job here,  numbnutz.

    Pat:

It would be more of a splat!

  35. Le Roi du Nord

    mar:

Ever the classy guy.  Let me know when you feel man enough to try.  Betcha won’t.

  36. dad29

LeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeRoy……….even if I took all your complaints about Trump at face value, (and it’s all correct, albeit not really relevant to his current duties)…….

“Your guy”, Biden.  Umnnnhhh…….will this be another Maggie Gau deal where the elected Governor is part-time and hasn’t a clue what “he” is doing while he’s sitting in his office?

Who will be running the country behind the curtain if Your Guy gets elected, LeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeRoy?

  37. Merlin

Pretty sure Barak’s old puppeteer is available… as long as she doesn’t mind being sniffed and/or groped occasionally.

  38. Mar

Another sign of mental illness, Le Roi, is the lack of sense of humor.
    Get some help Le Roi.

  39. Le Roi du Nord

    dud:

Biden isn’t “my guy”.  But I’ll sure cast a vote for him rather than 45.

    mar:

Perhaps I have a more developed and sophisticated sense of humor than you. Scatological humor isn’t my thing.  But you can certainly enjoy it if you like.

  40. dad29

But I’ll sure cast a vote for him

Perhaps you missed my point.  For WHOM?  Biden certainly won’t be running the desk any more than Evers is running his.  Who, exactly, WILL be?

  41. Le Roi du Nord

    dud:

You have no “point”, merely gibberish.  Try again.

  42. Mar

Dad is merely saying, that Biden is not smart enough to be president so he will be taking the left’s talking points and attempt to implement then with the help of others who are pulling his puppet strings.
Kind of like you and other liberals who cannot think independently and need others to tell them what to do.

  43. jjf

Mar, do you have any idea of the extent of the network of political operatives who push out talking points daily to people like Owen?

Biden!  He’s simultaneously impotent and all-powerful!  He’s capable of running an international spy network to make Trump look bad and he’s also a doddering old man!  His son trades on his resume and last name, but Joe is so incompetent he never imagined the levels of nepotism and grift dreamed up by Our Great Orange Leader for his kids and in-laws!  He’s a creep who sniffs the hair of girls but he’s incapable of significant locker-room talk at the level of the Orange Leader!  He’s a dessert and a floor wax!

  44. Le Roi du Nord

    mar:

Do you really think dud needs someone else to talk for him?  Or are you deciphering his prose today?

And claiming Biden isn’t smart enough is a real stretch seeing as we have a very low knowledge guy in the oval office right now.  There is nowhere to go but up.

  45. dad29

Mar and I would both like an intelligent, adult, response to my question, but obviously, we’re asking the wrong person, LeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeRoy.

Deflection is not your strong suit.  You’re better off just sitting out battles you cannot win.

  46. jjf

So Dad29, the “LeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeRoy”: is part of your “adult” response, hmm?

  47. Mar

Well, jjf, when Le Roi starts acting like an adult instead of being a pathological liar, maybe we can give him some respect.
But until then, he gets crap.
Meanwhile, when are you going to answer some questions posed to you instead of ignoring or deflecting. Not very mature of you either. You just want to shout out your opinions and then doing a Helen Keller, instead of engaging in a good debate.

  48. jjf

“Good debate.”  Mar, tell me what that’s like, in your experience.

  49. Jason

    >Mar: Meanwhile, when are you going to answer some questions posed to you instead of ignoring or deflecting. Not very mature of you either

    > jjf:  “Good debate.”  Mar, tell me what that’s like, in your experience

The dumb ass just can’t help himself.  He’s damaged too.

  50. Mar

jjf, a good debate is where you stay on the issue and you discuss the other person’s viewpoint.

  51. jjf

So if every debate turns to evolution and climate change and the Clenis, is it still a good debate?

  52. Mar

When the same things keep on being said, then no its not.

  53. jjf

I think you are correct that both sides need to consider each other’s perspective.  One should not reduce it to stereotypes.
