Walker Proposes Transportation Compromise

This looks like a very viable plan.

First, we propose reducing transportation fund supported bonding by $200 million in this budget by using an improved transportation fund balance, project cost savings, and other administrative actions. We believe this can be accomplished while continuing to keep projects on schedule.

[…]

Second, approve contingency bonding for the Southeast Freeway Megaproject program.

[…]

Third, pass a strong and safe transportation budget without a gas tax or vehicle fee increase.

As it doesn’t double transportation spending and put it back on track to double every ten years, Robin Vos (Roadbuilders-Caledonia) won’t approve.

walker is betting on things he has no control over (project cost savings) and is still borrowing like a crazy man.  Claim whatever you want, but those aren’t the actions of a conservative, but rather a political gamble of a wanna-be president redux.  And our kids and grand kids will be paying the interest on those loans.

Thanks for sharing an opinion from someone else Mr Facts and Truth to fight free reign propaganda.  Irony at it’s finest.

Fourth, drain the swamp at WisDOT.  For what they pay, I cannot believe not one person noticed the cost overruns.

BTW-While we are on the subject of DOT, with all the budget stuff, why are they starting new projects?

That’s right, it is an opinion, but from someone with a lot of experience in public works policy, and far from a liberal.  Maybe if you took a look at both sides of an issue rather than the knee-jerk reaction we all could make some progress.  If you think walkers proposal to keep borrowing is a good idea, fine, but it isn’t a long-term sustainable solution.   That is my opinion.  Yours?

I don’t recognize the name, so a quick search gave me George Woodruff Mitchell. Same guy? Democrat, right?

Makes you wish the white nationalist troll would wrap that belt around his neck and go full David Carradine.

King of the North – You might be an Internet Troll if you …
try to sow discord by starting arguments with the intent of provoking readers into an emotional response.
and you have quite a few that, sadly, take the bait.

Le Roi du Bore is a Nazi white nationalist troll.  The sooner the blog owner realizes this and shitcans him, the better.

And you’re right, Owen.  That comment was out of line….the white nationalist troll isn’t worthy of that particular brand.
