Changing Wisconsin’s John Doe Process

This is long overdue.

Sen. Tom Tiffany, R-Hazelhurst, and Rep. Dave Craig, R-Big Bend, released a statement outlining their proposed changes, which include mirroring the secrecy laws of the federal grand jury, making records about the cost of Doe proceeding publicly available and limiting the circumstances under which a judge can appoint a special prosecutor.

This whole episode has demonstrated how a rogue prosecutor can trample on people’s rights and cause them great harm when hiding behind this process. Prosecutors are powerful enough without it.

Why am I not surprised. Change the laws that almost sank the ship. Might as well include those changes to open records laws while they are at it.

    FF,

So you advocate the free speech destruction, confiscation, and pre-dawn raids (for daring to have a political opinion) Chisolm did?

I wasn’t just admonished by the High court, he was beaten down in that opinion. I’ve never seen the court so strong in an opinion.

I want Chisolm and any of his staff that worked on this, stripped of their law license.

Well of course because thats what I said and glad to see you are staying on point. Wow, really starting to get concerned about your mental health.

    FF,

What do you propose, if you are not in favor of overhauling the John Doe process?
