Vladimir Putin says Russia would consider an attack from a non-nuclear state that was backed by a nuclear-armed one to be a “joint attack”, in what could be construed as a threat to use nuclear weapons in the war in Ukraine.
In key remarks on Wednesday night, the Russian president said his government was considering changing the rules and preconditions around which Russia would use its nuclear arsenal.
Ukraine is a non-nuclear state that receives military support from the US and other nuclear-armed countries.

The classic: My hand is in the cookie jar invading other countries, but no other country can attack our territory without threat of nuclear reprisal. What a piece of shit for even considering using that threat.
How about this: “YOUR hand, US State Department and CIA, is in the cookie jar, a portion of which has been RUSSIAN territory since around 1600 AD. YOU broke the agreement made in 2016 or so. YOU want to make this little corruptocracy a member of NATO? Should Russia make Mexico a member of BRICS and offer Mexico our military assistance?
You want to FA and FO? Go right ahead.” Signed, Putin
I don’t think the CIA or the State Dept was around in the 1600s…
You make–inadvertently–a very good point.
Both of them willfully ignore historical claims and evidence; in this case, for the sake of harassing Russia and growing the influence of the US Empire, and the fortunes of US firms.
They also ignore religion because they don’t practice any, and religious ties are very important to most normies, whether here or abroad.
Putin is a bully, but not a fool. Mutually assured destruction is still mutually assured destruction. Other than in the fantasy world of Hollywood there is no benefit whatsoever to a first strike.
