West Bend School District Sees Dramatic Decline in Enrollment

Huh.

On Friday, the district also had released its third Friday count to determine the full time equivalent of district membership.

WBSD serves more than 5,900 students. There are 312 students in early learning, 1,760 students in 5K through fourth grade, 835 students in fifth and sixth grade, 899 students in seventh and eighth grade and more than 2,000 high school students.

The district’s 2019 3rd Friday count was 6,388.91 FTE. If it’s 5,900 now (that appears to be a rounded number), then that’s a decline of almost 500 kids, or 7.6%, in a single year.

This is sharply down from the enrollment projections that the district released in November of 2019. In those projections, it forecasted an enrollment of 5,727 students (not including 4K). The actual looks to be about 5,494.

The enrollment  confirms what we have known for some time. The West Bend School District is in for a long term enrollment decline before it levels off. This is being driven by demographic trends and the proximity of several outstanding private/parochial schools in the area. COVID19 may have played a part this year, but given the district’s hybrid approach, I don’t think it has as much of an impact enrollment as in some other districts.

Wow, if only people could have predicted that decline and asked cogent questions of the school board before they spent money upgrading the schools!

Hey penguin, no questions were asked in this reply!

You’re not very good at prediction…

It appears that I am much better at making predictions than you are at paying attention.

I did it long before 6:45PM
1:34 PM an hour before you predicted it.

First off – You sure about that? As sure as you are about everything else?

    Secondly – Weird flex, bro.

  3. Jason

    >You sure about that?

I’m sure, and I know better than to not answer your questions. Your psoriasis might flare up again.

    >Weird flex, bro

Says the incel bragging about predicting things that already happened. I post it at 1:34 pm, you predict it at 2:34pm, quick the skill there Carnac. It’s written in the logs dummy. And there were no questions asked that were not answered so you have to virtual signal and gaslight about something else.

I post it at 1:34 pm, you predict it at 2:34pm

You should check that again, ’cause what you’re saying here is simply not true.

That’s going to cost the district a huge amount of money.
Will they lay off personnel? Close a school?
It would be interesting to see if neighboring districts also lost as many students, percentage wise.

    >You should check that again, ’cause what you’re saying here is simply not true.

No, you should check it, it’s 100% accurate little guy.

    >Lets ask penguin if he’s trolling… seems he thinks he knows if anyone is trolling at any time.

Confident that your prediction was an hour after it happened, and you continuing to argue shows your stupidity and that my “I’m hopeful, yet reserved” comment at 9:11 AM was 100% justified.  Why that set you off into a rage, I don’t know, but I’m glad that I can see the trolls right away.

I’ve re-checked it enough to know that you are wrong. In fact, if I thought you were a man of honor I’d be willing to place a lil’ wager on it…but something tells me you’re the type to welsh back out of bets if defeated.

If you do have enough batlh to pay-up on a losing bet, then feel free to name your stakes. Am open to practically all kinds of ideas – be it a donation to a charity or political campaign, or the loser being required to sing the praises of the winner every day for a month, or even cold cash. Take your pick.

(If anyone else sees how he is wrong about this PLEASE don’t tell him yet.)

Heh – such a predictable madlad thou are.

If you are going to do it, do it right;).

Heh – such a predictable madlad thou art.

  9. penquin

If you are going to do it, do it right;)

Heh – funny thing is, I actually did type it that way at first….but then thought how there is nothing “artistic” about his word nor antics. After that pun got in my head, I had to change it.

You and I will just spin around on semantics, like we have for the past 24+ hours.

    >If you do have enough batlh to pay-up on a losing bet, then feel free to name your stakes.

I’m confident you have the forehead to talk like that… it’s time for your Hegh’bat.

I’m still right in what I linked to, you’re free to keep arguing about it, you’ll be doing it with yourself though.    I’m actually quite lonely living in such an empty and desolate head.  On to better things!

  11. penquin

The only way we’d be arguing about “semantics” is if you’re a weasel, ’cause what you are wrong about is so obvious & so crystal-clear there will be no doubt in anyone’s mind that you totally blew it.

Last chance to place a bet. You’ve been talking a lotta smack about this…going on&on&on&on about how you’re “100%” positive you’re right…but now all of a sudden you’re too scared & too unsure to place your money where your mouth is, eh?

    LOL

The younger the kids, the less there are in school.  You have 4 years HS for about 500 kids/class; then the average/class goes DOWN to around 325 or so.  You’ll have a LOT of space available in that HS in 15 years, friend.

Looks like Jason figured out his mistake and ran away in shame. Or he didn’t figure it out, but knows deep down how wrong he often is & thus ran away in shame. Either way – there’s no doubt he ran away, most likely in shame. (assuming he is capable of feeling “shame”, which may be too much to assume)

When you look at my predication Bolded for (how did he put it?) the “dense” guy…

What’s next – you gonna also taunt me by calling me out in threads I ain’t even participating in?

…and also see that I was participating in the thread prior to his comment, the results are crystal-clear, no? Doofus obviously doofed it up when he said my predication happened hours after his comment, ’cause my predication has nothing at all to do with that comment. (Tho the 2 or 3 times, so far, that he has called out my name in threads I hadn’t commented on sure does fulfill it)

He either can’t read a simple sentence or he jumps to conclusions without looking at the available data & information. Or both. And keep in mind, this wasn’t just a simple mistake or a quick glance; he said he re-checked it 3-4 times, at least. (Tho, reckon he could’ve been lying about that, eh?)

Hopefully this public spanking taught him a lesson, but I am (how did he put it?) reserved…
