Madison Mayor Ramps Up Appeasement

What a joke – an unfunny joke. 90% of the statement from Madison’s mayor is about how Madison is doing its best to appease the rioters as fast as possible. You elected this, Madison.

However, what happened last night in Madison was far from peaceful and exceeding dangerous. People attacked a State Senator who championed workers’ rights in 2011, tore down a statute of an abolitionist who died trying to end slavery during the Civil War, and attempted to set fire to a building with dozens of people inside. We need to separate First Amendment protests from those engaged in criminal conduct. People engaged in violence and criminal conduct against people or property on the streets of Madison will be held accountable.

Madison Police are involved in a wide-ranging investigation of activities that lead up to the arrest on the square yesterday and will have further information on this investigation when it is available. Officers are also investigating Sunday night hit and run involving a pick-up truck and a pedestrian.

People are asking for real, substantive changes, and the City is responding. The Council moved forward with the creation of an independent police auditor and an independent civilian police oversight committee, and we will continue to work to implement the recommendations of the Ad Hoc Task Force on Police Policy and Procedure. The Public Safety Review Committee and the City Attorney’s office are reviewing the Madison Police Department’s use of force policies, comparing them with the 8 can’t wait standards, the NAACP recommendations, and other best practices from around the country, and will make recommendations for any needed changes. Our Community and Economic Development divisions are working to develop programs and move funds to support wealth-building, housing assistance, small businesses and more in the Black community. Alders are exploring the mental health ambulance model and how to adapt it for Madison. My office is engaging with the question of how to reimagine public safety, and working to engage the community in all of these issues. At the State level, the Governor and Lt. Governor introduced a strong package of proposals around police reform and racial equity.

I’ll wager that there are zero arrests out of this.

I wonder if Crazy Joe Biden even knows what is going on?
Looking at his Twitter page, mot 1 mention of the rioters and looters, at least in the past couple of weeks.
Seriously, is he even aware what is going on?

  2. Merlin says:

Both Rhodes-Conway and Evers know that the 2020 end game for Democrats is to let the violence escalate to blood in the streets until the feds (Trump) respond with overwhelming force to quell the violence. They want to ride the imagery of troops crushing rebellion. The feds know the game being played. Everyone does.

    Mar:

Biden not only knows what is going on, but issued a statement at the end of May indicating so.  Part of the statement:

“Protesting such brutality is right and necessary. It’s an utterly American response. But burning down communities and needless destruction is not. Violence that endangers lives is not. Violence that guts and shutters businesses that serve the community is not.”

Twitter statements are for people who cannot think beyond 280 characters.  Real addressing of issues takes a lot more than that…..

  4. Randall Flagg says:

Wow merlin.  That’s a great conspiracy theory, but how did Democrats make a cop murder George Floyd to start all of it, not to mention the murders that have lead to the escalation?

  5. Mar says:

Randall, if it wasn’t Floyd, it would be someone else or thing. The radicals were well prepared for this.
As far as Senile Biden, well, that was at the end of May, a lot has gone on since then.
Like I said, is he even aware of what is going on?

Mo’ G’vment!  Mo’ Policy!  Mo’ Money!  Bla, Bla, Bla.

This is Democrats:  Can’t govern worth s**t but can create redundant committees and useless task forces in seconds,  shouting “we sure gonna talk about it!” in order to look they they are doing something brand new and important.   And the smudgeheads  who support them mutter. “a-yup, a-yup, good job”.

“My office is engaging with the question of how to reimagine public safety,…”

Here’s a simple idea you may not have “reimagined”, mayor;  when a bunch of imbeciles start tearing up other peoples’ property and other people, instead of hiding, ignoring it and hoping it will all go away, instead waiting two hours,  send in the riot squad, the National Guard, and whatever else is needed NOW and shut the m’F*****s down.

    Imagine that.

They didn’t.  But they would have found something–like a NOOSE, maybe–to light it up.  Didn’t make any difference to them.

Let’s not get hung up on “Democrats.”  There are quite a few Democrat voters who are not part of the insurrectionist-Marxist faction that’s been throwing the molotovs and bricks at the cops, other bystanders, buildings, and cars.  No matter, because the (D) Party hopes to benefit from the riots and having Trump unleash the National Guard with loaded weapons and “weapons free” orders…..well, that would be exactly what they need.  That’s why “leadership” Democrats refuse to enforce laws or even forcefully condemn the insurrectionists.

That’s why Trump is observing Federalism.  It is a State problem; let the States solve it (DC is a bit more complex.)  The Brain Trust didn’t think of that.  Too bad, because now Democrats such as Evers, Inslee, and Whitmer have been exposed as feckless losers.

See, the Paul Ryan/GWBush Pubbies were easy prey, so Democrats haven’t been thinking 4-5 moves ahead on the chessboard for 20+ years.  And it shows.

    OOPS!

  9. Mar says:

Ok Pat, so what? Someone identified him as a suspicious person. Not sure why. They put him in handcuffs, he cried like a baby and then he was released.
Big deal. It does happen to whites, blacks, brown’s and probably green people as well.

What a bunch of pro-criminal fools in Madison.

Local libs cheering criminal sympathy on.
