Wisconsin Loses 12,000 Jobs in Last Year

Sigh...

Wisconsin lost 12,000 jobs in the last year, the state Department of Workforce Development reported this afternoon.

Some sectors fared worse than others. Manufacturers had 11,000 fewer jobs than in July 2007, while the health care and social assistance sector added 7,400.

The state unemployment rate, reflecting the degree to which job seekers don’t find work, stayed at 4.8% last month, the same as in July 2007.
