Strip Club Wants to Allow 18-20 Year-Olds In

Heh.

A Walker’s Point strip club is once again trying to obtain a license to allow 18- to 20-year-olds to enter the club, even though it serves alcohol.

Ald. James Witkowiak has sent a letter to nearby residents saying Solid Gold strip club, 813 S. 1st St., has applied for a license to become a “center for the visual and performing arts.” It did the same thing almost five years ago under the name Club Paradise.

The designation, when created, was aimed at facilities such as the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts that sell wine or other drinks before performances.

To be considered for such a designation, there are two requirements, said Ald. James Bohl, chairman of the Common Council’s Licenses Committee. It has to have a stage that fits size requirements and artwork deemed recognizable by experts.

I guess it’s all a matter of getting the apropriate “experts.”
