We got about two or three inches here in West Bend so far. I went out to snow blow. Wendy and the kids came out to help too! It was fun. I did our driveway, the sidewalk past the empty lots near our house, and half of the neighbor’s driveway (they already did the other half). I also had occasion to go about West Bend a few times today to run some errands. It continues to flummox me that so many people who live in Wisconsin drive like such morons in the snow. As a service to you, here are some basic laws of physics that apply to driving in the snow:
1. Every object persists in its state of rest or uniform motion in a straight line unless it is compelled to change that state by forces impressed upon it.
2. Force is equal to the change in momentum (mV) per change in time. For a constant mass, force equals mass times acceleration, F = ma.
3. For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.
