We haven’t done one of these in a while.  Where is this?

UPDATE: Congrats to XXPilot.  This is a… something… on the bottom (ahem) of Nassau, Bahamas.

  1. I have no idea where it is but the shape of that harbor almost violates community standards for decency.

  2. almost violates community standard

Good - I’m not the only person with a gutter mind.

That would make this a cleninisula.  (note that it also has the drip)

For the record I did not make the phalic connection when I first looked at the picture.  But after the first three comments I just had to run with it.

  6. Nobody’s got it yet.  Yes, it’s a real place.  It’s not photoshopped.  Hint: it’s in the Western Hemisphere.

  7. Man this is a hard one.

  8. People, people, it’s been 10 years. You need to update your political sex scandal references. How about the Mark Foley/Larry Craig/Jeff Gannon/Ted Haggard Memorial.

Is it the Bay of Pigs?

  9. Just thinking out loud… the map is oriented north. So this is a south facing coast…

It appears to be there is a baseball diamond complex just inland.  Relatively flat shoreline.

Fairly populated area… Thinking of coasts in the western hemisphere that have south facing coasts i think of:

    -gulf of mexico.

-western part of south america, but those south facing coasts are not populated and very mountainous up to the coast.

-western africa, but the type of buildings/roads/infrastructure and ball diamonds.. make that unlikely..

Seems like it would either have to be North America, or a big bay with a south facing coast on eastern side of south america or some island in the caribean.

  10. I know that one, but I won’t answer because I have an unfair advantage—I know where Owen’s going to be in about 3 weeks!

  19. Interesting little part of the island there… Pan west a little bit.  Unusual network of what appears to be man-made canals with ocean access.

Looks like a real estate developer took some land and made one hell of an investment in infrastructure and now has a whole lot of marketable waterfront ocean access property!

  20. I (ahem) hadn’t noticed that particular outline until you alluded to it. A couple of oil storage tanks to the southwest would complete the picture!
