West Bend School Board Makes Show of Cutting Spending

Seriously?

The West Bend School Board agreed to move ahead on about $300,000 more in cuts that would raise the tax levy rate about 9 percent.

[...]

The board considered making no reductions after the levy rate increase fell just below double-digit levels to 9.9 percent or a $7.44 rate just on the basis of new state numbers following the annual meeting at Badger Middle Schools. The 9 percent increase translates into about $7.38 per thousand of equalized property value.

That’s a pretty feeble effort.
