Welcome Back, Gabrielle Giffords

Gabrielle Giffords returned to Congress today to vote. What an outstanding victory for her and for her constituents.

Gwen Moore, however, missed the vote. Her spokesperson, via Brendan Conway, said, “She was in the capitol building but not able to make it to the floor on time.”

Fox 6’s Ted Perry tweeted, “So Congresswoman Giffords can make a floor vote but Congresswoman Moore can’t?”

  1. She had like 30 minutes.  There was a call of the house that went on for roughly a quarter-hour before the clock on the vote even commenced.

What an effing waste of a Congressional salary Gwen Moore is.

  2. So someone with a major head injury can make a crucial vote (she looked really thin…) but Gwen “where’s my check” Moore can’t be bothered.

    Please.

  3. According to this she did vote, and voted no.  ::confused::

  4. Ok, in looking at it further, it also shows Rep. Giffords not voting.  Doh!

  7. Perhaps if Rep. Moore got a pair of Nike Shox at the Nike Shox outlet store, she could have made it in time.  I hear they have free shipping, too.

  8. This vote begs the question if it is just and to make people pay that may not have had anything to do with the problems causing trillions in debt.

  9. A few years back, I streamed the late-night debate over proposed concealed carry legislation in the Wisconsin Senate Finance committee, of which Alberta Darling was (and still is) the chair.

During this committee meeting, Gwen Moore put on a hissy fit that rivaled the worst of any two year old I have had the displeasure of witnessing. It was shameful.

All the while, Alberta remained calm, cool, collected, while attempting to move the debate forward.

  10. Can we take one second to celebrate Gifford’s recovery without trying to make a political point?

    Get a life!

  11. Great to see Giffords making a recovery.

    Gwen Moore sucks.

  12. I realize I am going to get ripped on this, and maybe rightfully so, but this was just a cheap political stunt.
When you look at the video, she looks totally scared and had the deer in a headlight look.  She probably didn’t even know the people she was meeting
She was being used by both the Dem’s and GOP leadership in an effort to pass their bill and being use is putting it mildly.
I am glad she is recovering and hope her recovery goes well, but enough of the stupid political tricks of using the seriously ill or injured to secure votes.
