WCRP Stands with Walker

The Washington County Republican Party organized its second “Stand with Walker Rally” in the past four weeks, Saturday morning, Jan. 7.  The gathering took place on the corner of Paradise Drive and Silverbrook Drive on the south side of West Bend.  More than one hundred supporters of Governor Scott Walker spread out over all four corners of the intersection and up and down Paradise Drive.  The Walker supporters, who ranged in age from children to senior citizens, waved flags, campaign signs and homemade signs to passers-by.  Feedback was overwhelmingly positive as there were continuous cheers, horn honks and thumbs-ups.  The media was in attendance as Fox 6 and channel 12 took video and conducted interviews of the supporters.  There were Walker recall petitioners at the same corner, but there were no incidents between the two groups.

  1. Don’t we have a local paper in West Bend called the Daily News that bills itself as Washington County’s Daily Newspaper?  Isn’t there another one called the Express News that also claims to serve Washington County plus, of course, the Oz-Wash section of our biggest newspaper, the Milwaukee Journal.

I saw the Fox 6 little piece but somehow missed local newspaper coverage.  Did anyone see what our local papers printed?

No, but I do remember our local Cage Liner showing the few Recall Nuts in it’s dribble.

  3. There will be a short press release in the WB Daily News later this week.  I sent them some photos too, but I’m not sure they’ll have those in the article.  My interview with channel 12 was on the 5:00 and 10:00 newscasts Saturday.

  5. I drove past the first gathering before Christmas.  It was really cold, but there were quite a few folks.  Went down the road a ways and saw the recall folks.  There were at least 3-4 times as many Pro-Walker people, but as far as I know, neither group was mentioned in the news.  My guess is that the media is waiting until weather attrition and job responsibilities take down the number of the Walker supporters before reporting on them, if at all.

  6. We had about 75 people for the first rally, standing out in 15 degree weather.  In West Bend, you’d think that would be newsworthy.  There have been some stories about the recallers, but nothing from our side until very recently.

  7. The Walker supporters, who ranged in age from children

I have an issue with libtards proclaiming their kids are against Walker when they bring them in tow in their nauseating, continuous protests.
    Same here.

  8. Looks like a robust turnout under adverse winter conditions. It’s good to hear the “feedback” on the flash mob “was overwhelmingly positive.” There’s a solid hundred votes that Scooter can bank on.

    Not counting the underage supporters.

  9. Not counting the underage supporters.

That’s one of the big differences between the sides - the anti-Walker crowd can also count on the underage (and dead) vote.  wink

  11. That poll is 10+ months old now. The internet/email just revived it.

  12. The poll was started 10 months ago. That does not invalidated it. It is still open the numbers are still changing.
