Waukesha County Just Can’t Find Anything to Cut

Typical.

Following the lead of Racine County, a Waukesha County Board member last month proposed freezing some county government positions that have become vacant.

Supervisor Peter Wolff of the Town of Delafield cited the retirement of the County Board’s own chief of staff, Lee Esler, as one example of where the county could save money.

The county has also announced the retirement of George Morris, longtime environmental health manager in the Department of Parks and Land Use.

Neither retirement, however, appears likely to result in a hiring freeze.
