Mike Gallo wants you to vote for Glenn Grothman. I agree.
Tuesday, September 9th 2008 is the Republican Primary, and here in the 20th Senate District, we’ve had a great guy on our side for several years now, and we need to keep it that way. Glen Grothman probably doesn’t have much of a problem against Clyde Winter (an Independant, ooooooooh), but here’s a list of reasons to vote for Glen, from his opponent’s keystrokes. It’s funny that that looney toon’s gripe list is actually a list of great accomplishments of Glen’s.
Yes. He also botched the bejeezus out of TABOR and singlehandedly killed minimum markup repeal in committee a few sessions ago. He’s also been beating his chest unsuccessfully over the Family Planning Waiver for nearly a decade now, with nothing to show for it.
A conservative? Mostly. An effective conservative? Hardly. Glenn’s a one-man island in the Senate. His train wreck of a Leg Council committee on Affirmative Action is likely the last we’ll hear of him for a long while. Glenn picks battles he can’t win and can’t make any progress on because he thinks it makes him some kind of a hero to the Kool-Aid drinkers.
The district would be better served by a no-nonsense, business-minded conservative who would cut a deal once in awhile to get some stuff done, as opposed to Grothman, who does nothing but chase his socially conservative tail. But if the people want the circus clown instead of the ringmaster, that’s their call.
I do not think that compromising your principles is ever a viable option. I know that some times you must compromise, but not on core beliefs. That is why I strongly support Glen.
RS - you make a few points - but when the opponent is Winters - that all goes out the window. Winters is not conservative and definitely not an independent. He would be a terrible choice.
