Vandal Turns Himself In

Good for him for turning himself in. 

A window at the Barack Obama campaign headquarters in Milwaukee was kicked in by an intoxicated Marquette University student who turned himself into police, authorities said today.

The 19-year-old Massachusetts man told police he was out drinking with friends Friday night when he kicked the window of the Obama office at 4th and Wells streets. The man heard about the incident on the news Saturday and told Marquette officials that he was responsible. He said the incident was not politically motivated.

2. This almost reminds me of the time Fred, in all his fair-mindedness, posted about Duke Cunningham, writing that it was “refreshing” and that he wasn’t just another corrupt politician because he pleaded guilty.

   In any case, I’m not usually in favor of throwing the book at students for offenses like these.  I’d much rather see the university use it as one of those proverbial “teachable moments.”
