The United States believes Iran has obtained enough nuclear material to make a bomb, U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff Adm. Mike Mullen said on Sunday.
“We think they do, quite frankly,” Mullen said on CNN’s “State of the Union” program when asked whether Iran has enough fissile material for a nuclear weapon.
I guess we’ll find out pretty quick when we start seeing mushroom clouds over Israel next year…
And Rumsfeld said about WMD’s in Iraq: “We know where they are. They’re in the area around Tikrit and Baghdad and east, west, south and north somewhat”
The neo-cons at the Project for a New American Century have wanted to invade Iran since 1999. The reasons include the encirclement of China in order to cut off its access to oil. The “intelligence” community is unchanged from Bush to Obama.
Why should I believe this “intelligence” about Iran is any less cooked than the lies served up to facilitate our occupation of Iraq?
Here are my predicitions:
1) Obama will invade Iran using this “intelligence” as the reason to occupy Iran.
2) There will be no nuclear material found.
3) Intelligence “failures” will be cited during the Congressional “investigation” which follows.
John - whatever you are on - lower the dosage. There is no way we are invading Iran. Look at a map. It is a huge country.
A few simple bomb strikes will take out the areas of concern.
I have more faith in Israel’s intelligence then ours. My guess is when they bomb their reactor back to the stone age, we’ll know they were close.
RE: There is no way we are invading Iran. Look at a map. It is a huge country.
You say this as if Gates, Lynne, and the other neocons are sane. The evidence on that is sketchy at best.
You avoided my main point which at least Crainer answered. Given the neocon propensity to “selectively interpret” intelligence, why should I believe anything statement about Iran?
Crainer at least acknowledges that we are going on whatever Mossad is feeding us.
