Makes sense on a couple of levels.
During the last few years, unions, led by the UFCW, have played an increasingly significant role in campaigns to allow medical marijuana, now legal in California, 17 other states and Washington, D.C.
In the November elections, UFCW operatives also helped get-out-the-vote efforts in Colorado, where voters approved a measure that made possession of one ounce (28.3 grams) or less of the drug legal for anyone 21 and older. Washington state approved a similar measure and both states require regulation of marijuana growers, processors and retailers.
Union officials acknowledge that their support stems partly from the idea that the marijuana industry could create hundreds of thousands of members at a time when overall union membership is shrinking.
Knowing how you feel about unions in general, is it fair to assume you’re also not too fond of re-legalizing marijuana? Hard to tell sometimes what you’re trying to say…
Unionizing dope jobs.
Hmmmm…I think it might just be better keeping dope illegal if faced with that prospect.
Some of these union bosses scare the heck out of me.
SNL did a great parody ad for the American Dope Growers Union years ago. NBC has unfortunately blocked it on youtube.
“Look for the union label when you are buying your joint, lid or pound…”
Some of these union bosses scare the heck out of me.
That usually happens when people drink the Kool-aid. You start being scared of whatever boogeyman they tell you to be afraid of, even tho you don’t know why.
And yes, if you honestly think there are union “bosses”, then you’ve obviously been drinking the Kool-Aid. It is akin to calling Walker a “Dictator”...hard to take someone serious when they are that mis-informed and/or emotional.
Purple,
So I should just ignore: (just taking sa couple examples that happened in last 3 months)
“There would be blood!”
Michigan State Democratic Rep. Douglas Geiss supporting union bosses.

“We are in a moment where the wealth disparity in this country is very reminiscent of the robber baron ages,” she said. “The labor leaders of that time, though, were ready to kill. They were. They were just ready. They were like, ‘off with their heads.’ They were seriously talking about that.”

When Democrats tend to reclassify anyone earning a paycheck as “rich”.
That really scares me.
Having dealt with quite a few government employees on many levels, at least this answers the question, “what are they smoking?” Obviously they are preparing for their next career in the dope industry. That does beg the question of many of the folks that somehow keep getting elected to office. Are they preparing for a career change, too?
For a variety of very good reasons, THC should be legalized, taxed and regulated like alcohol and cigarettes.
Right now Mexico is a narco state, the government is controlled by the drug lords. As long as the drug lords can sell millions of dollars of dope to their rich neighbor to the north the citizens of Mexico will continue to live under anarchic chaos.
