From November to December, unemployment rates decreased in two counties, remained the same in one, and increased in the remaining 69 Wisconsin counties. Dane County had the lowest rate, 5.4 percent, an increase of 0.2 percentage points from its November 5.2 percent rate. Eau Claire County had a rate of 6.1 percent, and Pierce, 6.4 percent. The highest rates were recorded in Menominee County, 12.2 percent, and Iron County, 12.1 percent. The two counties with decreased rates were Florence County at 10.4 percent, down from 10.6 percent; and Kenosha, 10.3 percent, down from 10.5 percent. Menominee County’s rate was unchanged from November.
On an annual basis, unemployment rates increased in all 72 counties.
West Bend is at 12.4% - up from 12%. Third highest unemployment in the state.
